PERKASA tarnishes the Image of its UMNO Patron

by http://www.malaysiakini.com

Malay rights pressure group PERKASA has claimed victory in preventing PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim from delivering a ‘political speech’ at a mosque in Bakar Bata, Alor Setar yesterday.

Perkasa disrupts Anwar in Alor SetarPERKASA’s Kota Setar branch head Jamaludin Hashim said the movement did not want to allow Anwar to deliver the tazkirah in a mosque as he was not accredited to do so.

“If it was PAS President Abdul Hadi Awang who wished to present the tazkirah, PERKASA would have had no objections because he is accredited,” he reportedly told Sinar Harian.

“Kota Setar PERKASA wishes to stress that we will not allow Anwar to present the tazkirah, but we will not stop him from entering the mosque for prayers.”

PKR Vice-President N Surendran, who had been present during the incident, said some 100 PERKASA members had turned up outside the mosque about 7.45pm yesterday during the maghrib prayers.

Perkasa Gangsterism rears its ugly head

Surendran claimed that they had screamed obscenities and shouted for Anwar to leave, while PKR’s Kuantan MP Fuziah Salleh tweeted that a shoe had been thrown into the mosque.

This was the second incident since Anwar began his four-day Northern Peninsula tour in the run- up to the next general election. PKR’s campaign bus had its windscreen smashed and splashed with red pain early Saturday morning during a stop at Kota Baru.

  1. This incident occurred in our backyard (Bakar Bata) and happy hunting ground for Bean, Tean Rean, and I. I never thought that our compatriots there could be barbaric and so disrespectful of the mosque that they storm a place of prayer and center of discourse among Muslims. It was reported that a shoe was thrown at Anwar and Dato’ Mahfudz Omar.

That is unacceptable. But these are desperate times and all things are possible under the present circumstances. Where were the Police? Sleeping? Let us hope that it is not a harbinger of things to come as GE-13 campaigning begins to gather pace. –Din Merican

  2. Najib, why the dead silnce on nthis mob gangsterism behaviour. You must be one of them for remaining silent. In civilised countries the Head of the government would have condemned such unaccpetable behaviour, but than you are not all that civilised, even by Mongolian standard. Are you?

  3. It is time to call back our Tok Sami Tean-Rean from self-enforced exile to give his sermon at the Wat Siam where he once performed duties as altar boy. Now it is his chance to alter the course of Kedah’s history. Muslim fanatics and hot heads like Perkasa black shirts are wont never to set foot on this holy ground as they know better never to mess with anything Thai.

  4. Politics laced with raw racism and religious bigotry is taking our country on a course never before seen. When Malays and Muslims fight against one another on holy ground we can be forgiven for asking, “Where do we go from here?”. These are unchartered waters.

  5. “This incident occurred in our backyard (Bakar Bata) and happy hunting ground for Bean, Tean Rean, and I.” — Dato Din Merican

Bakaq Bata apparently has ceased to be the sleepy hollow it once was in the ’50s and ’60s.

  6. It is telling that the so-called literates are afraid of words! Mere words! Speech albeit political in this case is deemed subersive. Whatever happen to critical thinking and reasoning? Don’t tell me that primary school/lower secondary/secondary/upper secondary/tertiary educated amongst them have abandoned their own self-respect for short-term material/financial rewards? Is it then naive to expect the Islamic clergy to speak up and prick the community’s conscience? Ijtihad.

  7. Najib just doesn’t have the quality to condemn such unruly incidents when it is called for! That is why it continues to happen so it is only logical to say he condones such rowdy behaviours… Get him out before more damage is done!

  8. Click on to the extended version to see the full length. It is shocking to see how low we have gone – clearly beyond the bounds of moral decency. This is a disgrace! How a religion can be used in that way is something not too long ago was unimaginable. It speaks to the rest of the world how we are as a people.

It is sad to see that it is happening in our neck of the woods, Dato. It is also separating and dividing families.

  9. perkasa is like the pariah of the malaysian society. it has no standing whatsoever to preserve the rights of the malays? What the bullshit when we had one indian prime minister for 20 odd yrs. does perkasa allow a eruasian muslim to be PM?

  10. from this video released…this show the real principle and the way of the culture of Malays….will do foolish things and barbaric ways to withold their ketuanan…and who is the real culprit behind ….the nearer the PRU….will show the uncivilised behaviour of the losers ruling coalition…..

  11. I don’t think it will get any better from now till GE13… I think we better brace for total mayhem and I am definitely preparing my family… the only probability to let the country go into chaos and declare an emergency and delay GE13 for 3 years while the opposition will be packed away to Kamunting… just maybe…

  12. Guys & gals,
The key thing of countering these cockamamie is not to play their game. Be smart. Get even not mad. Everybody knows that perkasa is created to be the bad boy so that najib would be mr nice man

  13. Neofascist “Blackshirts” in Malaysia. These are the brainwashed street toughs.

The important question is: Who are their (sophisticated) behind-the-scene organisers and, above all, funders?

The answer is simple: people who have gained, and continue to benefit from the status quo.–Din Merican

  14. What image to tarnish here? UMNO’s image is already beyond redemption. Tarnish is only a small blemish and with some polishing can be restored. UMNO’s image is battered and bruised and need a plastic surgeon to restore whatever is left. Maybe with the help of some blacksmith the image can be hammered back after going through some hot fire and a cooling down period. Even then it will be a pale image of the original UMNO

  15. Why should we be surprised ! Afterall, Kutty has achieved greatness as the greatest thief and now he is quoted as having said in INdonesia that the Malays can achieve greatness too.

Personally, i hope the Malays do achieve greatness – but hopefully not as thieves lah.

But as for Kutty, aside from being a great thief , he seems to also be good in feeding the Malay community with ” opium “. Lines line ” achieving greatness ” is will definately be like giving ” opium ” to the Malays .

  16. What about those PKR supporters who stepped on PM portrait, undermining the ‘Jalur Gemilang’ and worst still ‘poking’ their bare ass to the public…??? No doubt the truth about these PKR hooligans spoke well on their image and of the party. Don’t just look with your one eye closed and yet condemning as you please…

  17. When the wrongs are not nipped at the bud by the powers that be. It is a monkey see monkey do situation. And it all started at Datuk Ambiga’s house!

  18. What worries to the Malaysian now is that ….certain quarters just to show their muscles around and to gain status and power….are not very healthy and tarnishes our 1 Malaysia unity. And I was wondering why this childish act in stepping on the potraits and showing buttocks just to show our dislikes are really outsted and cheap. Why not the authority like the PDRM arrest those who started earlier located in Komtar Penang….and I believe the stupid act will not happen to No.1 and sister rosmah…bn sendiri gali kubur sendiri…

  19. There are many BN leaders including Najib and wife who give speeches in mosques all over Malaysia (in fact many are documented), why Perkasa never show their faces at these places, only show their true colors. For RM10 they can become dogs to BN leaders.

  20. This perkasa thugs are easily bought and their stupid heroic act really tarnishes the Malays itself….if they think anwar should not give speeches at mosque…why made a nuisance out of it and tarnished the islam itself infront of the iman and show their muscle powers and low grades moroones and insult his own fellows islam…in the public eyes…esp myself thinking that islam faiths are all brothers …but not to those who differ in beliefs in politics…and why the PDRM are not taking actions on this hypocrites act from perkasa…or simply they are working for the umnoess goon….
