Najib: Expect Fair Treatment from Government

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said he had every intention of keeping to his word that under his administration, the people would receive fair treatment from the government.

“When I took office almost three years ago, there was my promise to the nation that you’ll have a fair deal and fair treatment from the government, andI intend to deliver on that promise,” he said.

He said this when launching Sri Murugan Centre’s (SMC) 30th anniversary celebrations at Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil (SJKT) Vivekananda here.  Najib pointed out that his transformation plans and other initiatives meant for the well-being of the people were not about the next general election.

Noting that the government was sincere in helping the people, including the Indian community, he said that it would not promise something that it could not deliver.

“I’m not a politician of that nature,” Najib said, stressing that he was committed to, and would not compromise, the future of Malaysia.  The  Prime Minister said that he and the government would do more for the people if they were given another five-year mandate.

Najib asked all Malaysians to join him in building a better future for the nation.  He told his audience that since 2009, the government had allocated RM440million to build new national-type Tamil schools (SJKT) and improve conditions at nearly 400 such schools nationwide.

Later, Najib, who is chairman of 1MDB Foundation’s board of trustees, presented 1MDB academic grants to 75 SMC students who are pursuing their education at local universities.

The students, who each received RM15,000, had completed at least one year at a local public or private institution of higher learning and obtained a minimum CGPA (cumulative grade point average) of 3.00 out of 4.00.

1MDB and SMC have been working together to assist deserving students basedon merit and needs. The partnership started in 2010 with 50 students, followed by another 50 students last year.

  1. Well, my Indian and sikh brothers and sisters are being bribed because their votes matter for GE-13. Even the much maligned Orang Aslis are being bought. It shows how desperate Najib is these days. He knows that he will receive a lesson from voters this time around.

Do not give him the mandate to rob this nation. Even without our vote, he has been mismanaging our country. Imagine what he can do if he has a mandate of his own. Big Momma (Rosie) will run wild. Zahid Hamidi will be spending taxpayers’ money to acquire military assets that cannot work and put our soldiers in harm’s way.

Guru Nanak save Malaysia from politicians who will promise you everything to get elected. Trust Najib and UMNO-BN at your own peril because they will bankrupt our country.

  2. Gurubachan,

The Indian voter now favors Najib and his government. His plight is deservedly receiving attention and he will give Najib a chance to show what he can do.If Najib is a man of his word, then change will come. Each and everyone of us who has registered to vote must make his or her own decision. We can’t depend on Guru Nanak; we must act according to our own preference and vote wisely.–Din Merican

  3. ” The Indian voter now favours Najib and his government .” – dino

You keep saying this , but i don’t think you are right. Anwar and Pakatan has advised them to take what is given but to vote wisely.

And wisely will they vote when the time comes. While waiting , wisely too they will ” take ” what is given. Afterall , why should’nt they? If there was anything given before to this community, semi value and son incorporated kept it for themselves just like Kutty and sons incorporated kept what was meant for the Malays!

  4. How can what rightfully belongs to the people be given to them as a gift? The “people” and the “government” are one and the same! We must never forget that! Render to the people what belongs to the people!

  5. Don’t you mean take our money, makcik? He is visiting people in the capacity of a PM but he is campaigning for BN. You think the money he pledges came out from BN’s war chest or his own personal account?

  6. Why must najib need to have the opposition states in order for him to do the transformation? Is he transforming Malaysia into a one-party state? Everything about him must be conditional. Doesn’t he know the meaning of a government? Can’t he more sincere and act like a true leader for once? Listening to his “ifs” is as tiresome as reading makcik’s asinine comments.

  7. More BULLSHIT. We and our children have been treated worse than second class citizens for the last 54 years and now he comes out and tells us this. If the goverment is fair, my children would have obtained schlorships to pursue their higher education. Excellent results and excellent extra curricular activities but NO scholarships. Qualifications are more than enough but not their “kulitfication”. Read Kee THuan Chye’s book ‘No More Bullshit, Please, We’re All Malaysians’. Talent Corp wants to stem the brain drain but in the end the question that begets an answer is “Does this country really care if we stay or go?”

If you had taken this long to discern that the long term objective of UMNO for this country is to transform diversity into uniformity through the policy of attrition then it is a case of too little too late.

  9. It has to be seen to try to stem the flow of talented Malaysians to greener pastures. But who says it has to then do it??

  10. I just saw a couple of Malay girls walking the Mall in my neck of the woods, dressed in tudung and tight fitting jeans seemingly oblivious to their surroundings. But in every way expecting the stares they think they should be getting. I see Jews and Mormons dressed very conservatively and never in jeans always in skirts with hemlines below their knees but religiously conservative Malay girls from Malaysia looking like they are fresh out of their kampongs feel the need to parade around like they are here to show the rest of the womenfolk how Muslims dress.

It is time their masters (read: UMNO through the activities of BTN perhaps) re-educate them on the origin of jeans and what they stood for. Small wonder that Malays who came here to study isolate themselves and return with extremist views of the western world. Life in the shadows of the Great Satan does have rather curious consequences.

  11. He (Najib) knows that he will receive a lesson from voters this time around. — Gurubachan Singh

He does not like the thought of getting spanked by the Sikh community in particular. It is enough that he has to sit on Rosmah’s finger all day long.

Well, it is not gonna change if he remains stuck to his old ways.

  13. Jibs gotta serious “Image” problem. Why else is he saying things he ought not to say? He and FLOM have a pathological devotion to superficiality, leading UMNO to be obsessed with pop culture and aping it fanatically.

His handlers (i think they are called ‘advisers’) are prone to fad surfing (cf ‘ah jib gor’ being the latest trend); carnal seeker sensitive methodologies (eg BR1M); runaway pragmatism and trivial pursuit (lu tolong…, gua tolong..); doubt seeding propaganda (liwat sambil liwat) and a host of other negative post-modernistic hype.

We don’t need a leader of air-headedness and role playing. We need one of conviction, wisdom, fortitude, determination, endurance, skill in speaking candidly without waffling and skill in handling difficult problems.

  14. Najib, you will only try to act “fair” when a GE is coming up. After the GE you’ll revert to your “unfair” and evil ways. I for one won’t and can’t take your word for it. You have not demonstrated any intention to keep your word. Examples are aplenty. I won’t waste bandwidth here describing your unfairness but I’m sure the folks here know what they are.

  15. Our najib is just ” manis kata di bibir sahaja” . I don’t trust anymore. If you are sincere, it woyuld had been implemented long ago. another is PERKASA- damn racist.
