Stay Out Of Politics: Malaysia is a Democracy, not a Military State

General Abdul Aziz Zainal, please stay out of politics. The Army has no business to butt in the affairs of government. Your job is to defend the nation against the real enemies of state. It is sacred duty to stay in your barracks, not let the army to be used by politicians in power to suppress democratic dissent and stifle freedom.

People are dissatified with the present state of the economy, corruption and abuse of power. The racial issue is being initiated by UMNO and its agent provocateurs are playing the race card while a component Basional Nasional party, Gerakan, is overreacting. If there is anyone to blame for the present state of affairs, it has to be the UMNO-led government under Prime Minister Badawi.

So why don’t you, dear General, tell this present government to be more responsible and ask them to focus on the management of the economy. Don’t take on the people of Malaysia. We are not the enemy. You should, for example, go and deal with pirates off the coast of Somalia who have captured our shipping vessel and are putting the lives of its Malaysian crew at risk.

Ask Badawi to be serious about the country. If he cannot lead, then he must be courageous enough to admit it. Ask him to do what is right: commit political hara-kiri. That is best for our country.

As for Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz, it is best that you advise Badawi (if you can, and remember he threw you out of his 2008 Cabinet) and look critically at what UMNO is doing. You were part of the government that has messed up the economy and the country. Corruption is rampant; there is abuse of power (the AP issue is not forgotten); and there is mismanagement of the economy (inflation, slow growth, no FDIs and unemployment).

It is convenient to put the blame on “others” when the real problems are created by you and politicians of your type. The real truth, Tan Sri, is that UMNO and the Barisan Nasional are scared stiff of the impending change. You are not willing to accept reality and concede that the Barisan Nasional government is pretty messed up right now. Why? Because you know that a corrupt regime cannot survive. —Din Merican

Racial issues: Army Chief tells Government to act
September 9, 2008
Departing from the norm, the Armed Forces today reminded the government on the danger of allowing racial issues to exacerbate.

MCPX

general abdul aziz zainalCategorising it as a security threat, its chief Abdul Aziz Zainal called on the authorities to take stern action against those who stoke racial sentiments.

He warned that racial issues should not be raised as it had the potential to create chaos and disorder.

“Racial issues are the most feared by security forces as they could lead to chaos. They are a security threat,” he was quoted as saying by the Star.

The general was speaking to reporters at the Wanita Umno Hari Raya contribution presentation to the armed forces and the police at the Putra World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur.

ismail omar policeAt the same event, Deputy Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ismail Omar said street politics is under control and peace is upheld.

He said the police force is prepared to face any eventuality.

“We are ready to work day and night, rain or shine, without food and drink to ward off such threats,” he said.

‘It’s very serious’

Meanwhile, Wanita Umno chief Rafidah Aziz urged Malaysians to refrain from questioning the racial origins of their fellow citizens.

rafidah aziz“Today, the top brass of the armed forces talked about it. When the armed forces talks like that it means it’s very serious.

“Let’s stop talking about sensitive issues. It’s not just about race. When you are talking people down, you are already talking about sensitivities,” she added.

Rafidah also said that street demonstrations and the mob spirit should be rejected as it affects public peace and security.

The Umno leader added that this would further burden the police which already has the task of maintaining public order.

The latest ‘racial slur’ controversy to make headlines erupted when it was reported that Umno Bukit Bendera division leader Ahmad Islmail called the Chinese as ‘immigrants’ among others.

This drew flak from various quarters, including from Barisan Nasional component parties.

Following this, Umno deputy president Najib Abdul Razak offered an apology but Ahmad has remained defiant.

  1. “Categorising it as a security threat, its chief Abdul Aziz Zainal called on the authorities to take stern action against those who stoke racial sentiments.”

dear 10 star general are u implying that we do a Tianamen in Malaysia ?

since when did we have army playing politics or taking sides ?

    cheers

  2. Bro Din, I concur with you that the army has no business to meddle in civilian affairs. We are civilians who want change for the betterment of the country. We are trying to make amends in a peaceful manner. You cannot force civilian to accept a corrupt govt to rule. If the army steps in it is evident that the govt is really corrupt and wants to use whatever means, even violence to control dissent.

  3. I think you all miss the picture

Ahmad is Mathathir’s proxy to create problems for Pak Lah.

The Military is also pro Mahathir.

It all fits – We have Mathathir’s group stoking the fire for Poor Dolah, and UMNO will revert back to that very person who cultivated it psyche of racism, corruption, and unless DSAI moves forward, we are in for some terrible times.
    _______________
It is the mamak gang in action, I suppose. But I think, there is a tendency too overestimate Mahathir’s influence on UMNO and the country. Give DSAI some room to move and operate; he is taking a still formidable group of rapacious individuals who want to protect the status quo. Any change will adversely affect their interests.—Din Merican

  4. If any one makes racist comments do you think the other party is going to welcome it with open arms? Definitely the person who is offended will speak up or react. Let us respect the different make up in our community. It is an assent that should be safeguarded not trampled.

  5. Hello General Abdul Aziz Zainal,

It’s great you are concerned and aware of what’s going on in the country. I hope you are also aware of the bunch of sewer politicians who started the racist remark. Maybe you would also like to check it out if your boss was behind the whole episode in Permatang Pauh.

As Chief of Armed Forces, it’s good to be well informed. Now you can go back to barracks and lock the gate. Thank you!

  6. The army is using this issue to try and step in, folks. Watch out what the next step is going to be. Bro Din, things will be messy further, if the army interferes.

  7. Jong,

abdul aziz should be looking into the Auditors General report year in year out to fix all that blatant wastage of public money which goes back in the 70’s where a packet of maggi mee supplied to the Angkatan Tentera Malaysia is charged an astronomical figure.

anyway we know who he reports to so we can figure why he “speaka da same lingo”

    cheers

  8. now what… our Army General also becoming dumb and daft, benggap like Pak Lah too? sounds like Army General himself is afraid losing his job and Gomen-Perdana chauffeur driven blank car. could the General carrying Najis shit C4 behind his back…..???

  9. latest guys ….. the Thai court has ordered Samak to resign just because he appeared in a TV show and accepting remunerations now thats wat democracy is all about

now here u tear-gas-baton-whack-kick-boot Hindraf then jail them ….. while a racist like Ahmed Ismail wears two-piece suit and gives daily press conference in racially charged tone !

i have a Bodowi who refers him to UMNoo Supreme Council … i hope they rot in hell

    cheers

  10. Sovind …. in Malaysia going by patronage the Defence Minister aka Najis actually runs the show ….. now how do you figure when this generals retire with a Tan Sri and directorship in blue-chip companies 🙂

Our dear King had been constituitionally packed and sealed for ceremonial purpose only or for rubber-stamping legislation to give in an air of authority like PRK says giving ur fart a copy-right like the sound of a Harley exhause

    cheers

  11. Aziz Zainal Tuesday called on the government to take stern action on anyone who raises racial issues.

The General is right the Government should!
    ____________
The point is, salak, that he should not make political statements, couched under the word “advice”. He should be sent back to school to learn the fundamentals of soldiering.—Din Merican

  12. Salak, correct me if i am wrong … but the news carried out by Malaysiakini says “Armed Forces chief General Abdul Aziz Zainal urges the government to take stern action against those who raise”

and he reports to our Mongo-Altantuya-Najib …. he cant be making anti gomen statement brother …. nanti loose pension n directorship laa ….

    cheers

  13. It may thick smoke and he said nothing more, which he hasn’t. The fact that he has tells us he shouldn’t but as an affirmation to several other interests.

  14. I told you before.. don’t be too excited !! Royal Army is under Agong’s will, PM have no power to manipulate them. What can PM do is.. give his advice and the rest depends to Agong himself.

And do you think Agong agreed with Pak Lah? Just refer to MB Terengganu and MB Perlis cases.. Agong just concern to avoid chaos created by you and BN,

  15. Sorry for the General as he could not control his emotion .Got carried away.Maybe its good for the PM or His Royal Highness our King to have a word with him to Butt out and stay put in his barracks. Also tell him we are not Thailand.

  16. And for sure.. police institution is under KDN, and KDN is under PM of Malaysia. That’s why police can’t do nothing if any soldier doing wrong things.. they have their own courts.

Police and Army is two different institution with same objectives. Create peace.. Please be clear my friends..

  17. Whimpering MCA, Gerakan and MIC Leaders Wilt in Face of Big Brother UMNO!
So, the BN component parties have agreed to allow UMNO to decide on any action to be taken against that unworthy recipient of the Datukship title Ahmad Ismail, for uttering racist remarks against Chinese.

What a useless bunch of leaders we have in MCA and Gerakan and MIC. This Ahmad goes round openly flouting the ISA and Sedition Act and what not, yet MCA, MIC and Gerakan do not demand at the BN Supreme Council meeting today that such a seditious utterer be charged under the existing laws. How they can delegate the actions to be taken against Ahmad, to UMNO solely, is beyond comprehension. Should not the law of the country apply to Ahmad instead? Should the police not take steps to charge Ahmad instead? How is it that the MCA, MIC and Gerakan leaders do not insist at the BN Supreme Council Meeting that the law be applied to Ahmad, instead, they are preferring internal UMNO party procedures take precedent over the laws of the land?

If this is the case, then it is best that ISA and Sedition Act be abolished altogether, for it seems that the present government is indulging in selective prosecution yet again. And in fact, this is our stand, that the ISA and Sedition Act are draconian laws that should be abolished for it is increasingly appearing to be as a tool to be used only when convenient. If UMNO procedures can take precedence over these laws, then there really is no point in having these laws.

Utterly Useless Whimpering MCA, MIC and Gerakan leaders!

  18. When Shih Huang Ti united the Chinese Warring States of Han, Chi, Wei, Chu, Yen into autocratic Modern China, he has commands of the police and armed forces.

These commands was and is still imperative to stop mutinies, rebellions, riots, demonstrations etc.

Without commands, new leaders taking over would face lots of problems after 51 years of old mono-administration as witnessed on the island recently after GE12.

The new ruler must be able to command these forces, otherwise the people would suffer from the sequels…

  19. It’s not just about mere commands and blunt power. The world has changed a lot and getting smaller and China is struggling to keep up. It now has the Planet’s tallest phallic symbol. But it is nowhere in harnessing the rakyat’s worth that when China realised the significance of printing it went no further. Just as the BN government believes that Malaysians are so dumb if you roll out broadband in a large it will be wasted. But of course the money had gone to waste all the same, hadn’t it?

  20. Guys,

Let’s not jump the gun and make assumptions out of turn.

Aziz Zainal, as the Armed Forces Chief, had to make a statement to the media and I am sure the questions fielded were topical and an answer was necessary. He can’t simply dismiss the whole saga as something trivial and gives answers that are deemed irrelevant. So he took a tough stance. That was expected. I would have done the same.

Please remember the Agong exercises no control over the armed forces. His role is purely ceremonial although he is the supreme commander by virtue of his position. We are a constitutional monarchy, remember. He can’t even deploy a platoon without having to get the clearance of Mindef. The real power is the PM and the Defence Minister. They are the ones who call the shots.

Aziz too cannot act on his own as all the three services – Army, Navy and Air Force – have their own service chiefs.

With four infantry divisions under his command, the Army Field Commander ( a three-star general) stationed at Kem Sg Besi have the most number of men under arms. He can tilt the balance.

However, I am prepared to bet my last ringgit nothing will come out of Aziz’s remarks. Take my word.

    Cheers.
    ______________
    Fathol,
You sound as if you are General Aziz’s boss. If he cannot act, why should he open his big mouth? He should stick to soldiering, in stead of talking about something he is not competent to deal with. Stay in the barracks and shut up. Use his intelligence assets to monitor real enemies of our country.

Both the PM and DPM are not in the right frame of mind as they are under siege by their own party and critics. So I worry about this eager beaver and ambitious General since he will blindly take orders from unstable top politicians like Dollah and Najib and Syed Hamid Alblur (the Police and the FRU). Nak bodek bukan?

Frankly, I am not concerned about you gambling away your last ringgit. It is yours to lose and the consequences are yours alone. But I will never gamble with our country’s democracy and our freedom by wishful thinking.—Din Merican

  21. Founding monarchs must have those commands. If the commands fall, are made use of or are being manipulated by the other side whom they have been together so long, then take over by a new monarch would be very difficult.

Sun Tzu maintained that command is imperative. It covers civil, police and the armed forces.

These may not be important for normal transition.

In the case of China, sometimes it is not because they could not a manage certain situations.

There is a strategy as “Do Nothing or Management Pretence” to fulfil certain agendas understandable and known only to themselves; somthing similar to the “Reverse Engineering” advocated by the former CEO.

It appears that this is the present plight now; reversing the logics, truth etc.

  22. The CAF’s comments can best be taken (on facevalue) as being neutral.
My gut instinct tells me that it was a message from DYMM YDP Agung, that these provocations must not continue. A short concise message.
In a sense, it might help unravel all the toyols stutterings about a 0513 repeat, the previous day.
The only other time that ‘they’ issued a public statement was when M.I. chief (acting) declared Temujin’s daughter did not figure in their X-files. Now that we know was instigated by whom/what, to try to change public perception.

  23. It is clear that the responsibility over public order lies with the police. But when threats to internal security also pose a danger to the security of the nation, history has shown that the military led by a group of Sandhurst trained officers, was more than willing to step into their role as a bulwark to threats to Malay political power. In the past they see this threat as a threat to UMNO.

But times have changed. The political dynamics have changed. There is today no threat to Malay political power. There is a threat only from UMNO.

UMNO today is not the same political party that won independence from the British. It is not the same political party led by my Ayah Tam. It is led by a group of self-serving, self-interested corrupt Malay leaders whose thirst for power is exceeded only by their greed.

UMNO today has all but lost its moral legitimacy to rule

It is not untimely, therefore, for the military leadership to re-assess their role given the changing dynamics. It’s power to make history is never greater than it is today. Generals and other senior brass in the military must ask themselves how they want to be remembered, what will they say to their children when they are asked what role did they play in bringing about change, and an end to unbridled corruption and the flagrant abuse of power that has plagued this nation for more than a decade. How do they want to be remembered?

  24. Menyalak-er,

That bug now makes the public wary!

The moment you flinch, nerves are frayed. The Service should be absolutely imbued with the humility of immense power they possess. With that, anybody who plays marbles with them should feel childish!

The way they bungled that one, leaves you with frayed nerves.

  25. UMNO may have bad PR but its chess strategies nevertheless deserve some applaud. The whole Ahmad Racist Episode is just another ploy to declare a state of Emergency in Malaysia even as Sept 16 draws near.

All events point to it –

    1. 41 Barisan reps flown off to Taiwan on a study trip, a trip wholly endorsed by DPM Najib. It was timed to get them outside of the country before Anwar could entice them to cross over. Devastatingly simple. Even a school kid can see through it.

    2. Ahmad’s theatrical display of gross racism designed to whip up outrage and chaos among the races especially Malays vs Chinese. Racial riots on the cards?

    3. The other Ahmad aka Badawi pussy-footing on what to do with his “recalcitrant” namesake. Deliberate delay which is one of lawyers’ most frequent court strategies. A brainless little strategy requiring little effort which Badawi has become internationally renowned for.

    4. Sept 10th revoke of Anwar’s bail – perhaps? A possibility to cause even more chaos.

    5. When riots break out as they are calculated to, Badawi can then declare a state of emergency, supported by the Army Chief and Police Chief. Both Army Chief and Deputy Police Chief have already made veiled public warnings against persons “stoking racial sentiments”. Who might that be? The 2 Ahmads, Mahathir, Najib, Dr Koh, leaders of MCA and Gerakan who spoke out against “racist” Ahmad, and the alternative press’ editors?

    6. If Plan A fails to materialise (racial riots), then Plan B can be executed. Mass arrrests under ISA as happened during the 1988 Operation Lallang, under Mahathir’s leadership. Guess what? Mahathir had reportedly re-joined UMNO just today! This is Plan B and C overlap. It is hoped that Mahathir’s presence at this great moment of crisis would restore confidence in UMNO being on top of things (as in suppressing all dissension). Mahathir has a great track record in cowing all his enemies. He is the best person to oversee either the 1) state of emergency or 2) Operation Lallang 2. His son is running for UMNO Youth Chief, hoping to smoothen his father’s return to politics.

    7. End result? Anwar behind bars again. No doubt aided by the DNA Act. Sept 16th foiled. Chinese cowed again, or should I say “babi-ed” (translation – “porked”) . Resurgence of UMNO and Malay supremacy. The Malay Dilemma resolved. The rise of Mahathir and son, and other cronies. Sorry, Badawi – you failed to even orchestrate a successful racial riot. Malaysia is obviously too complicated for Badawi to govern.

Is it such a great tactic? Possibly, seeing that the Queen aka UMNO is constantly under check. It’s a desperate calculated move – it works 99% of the time. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

It worked during Sept 11, 2001 in the US. Crash some planes into the World Trade Centre and the Pentagon and you get the public crying out for justice. Enter the Patriot Act which gives massive powers to the State to invade the privacy of suspected terrorists. It’s a tired but wildly successful tactic when the State requires more powers against those whom they perceive as their enemies – and as a bonus allow them potential powers to control the entire population too. Unlimited power in the hands of a few can only mean tyranny and loss of freedom.

Malaysia is straddling between the Middle and the End game in this great Chess game. Wanna bet who comes out the winner? Why not? The Sports Toto 6/52 has just reached RM20 million today, possibly the highest payout amount in its history.

  26. The crux of the matter is, in any true measure of democracy, institutions like the military, police, judiciary should and ought to be independent of any political party. Their sole job is to ensure social stability, just government, and the uphold of the laws and constitutions of a country, impartially and apolitical, no matter who the government of the day happens to be. In essence, they are there to protect the citizens of the country who pay for their wages and welfare. So the military and police chiefs should not open their big mouths to side with the government of the day.
As for that racist moron, let’s really stop giving him all the mileage that instead makes him a hero of sort. You are always going to get these kind of bigots running around in any society and as long as the people are united in their belief of just and equality to all human kinds, these bigots would choose to disappear with tails between their legs.

  27. Yes, salak (16:10), seems that everyones’s nerves are frayed.
It’s a tacit warning, but doesn’t seem to come out from goon’s palace.
The goon’s nowadays seem to suffer from a terminal case of verbal diarrhoea and this is seen on itself, is actually a very constipating statement!

  28. In 1920s, 13 nations beseiged Tianjin. The latter fell. In 2008, 13 divisions “beseiged” their party head. The latter fell.

In 1945, Generalissimo Chiang Kai Shek was kidnapped under seige at Sian (now Xian) and threatened by his own men with aerial bombardment led by General Chang Shueh Liang forcing his boss to agree to co-operate with Mao Tse Tung to oust the common enemy, the Japanese.

Sun Tzu says, “The armed forces obey their Generals and not others.”

I hope this history remains with China forever…

  29. Brother Din,

Departing from the norm, the Armed Forces today reminded the government on the danger of allowing racial issues to exacerbate.

The key word here is ” reminded.”…why?

Because the PM is sleeping. Minister of Defence is too busy answering to his big Mdm boss. Yesterday, Mdm boss ordered the Minister to chair a meeting on how to educate 5 years old kids. A 5 years old will then know that if they want to learn about agriculture they must go to Taiwan.

I think the General also getting worried that the government is too focus on one asshole instead of managing the country. But, I just wonder why the general talk about racial issue when both Saiful and Anwar are both Muslims and Malays. This is the main agenda of the Cabinet and it is nothing racial about the asshole. These are the reason that the government need to be reminded.
Dont you think so Brother Din?

But I fully agree with Brother Din that the military should not show their face as they are to serve the Country and the Kings. They have no business in politics.

  30. Pak Din,

I appreciate your concern so do I. But having been a member of the armed forces for 30 years, I think I am qualified to make an educated guess insofar as the directions our armed forces is heading.

Aziz was my junior at the military college and I know him too well. Senior officers are neither allowed to make public statements nor give interviews to the media. When they appear on TV or at press conferences it’s with the expressed permission of the Defence Minister. They have followed this order to the hilt.

If Aziz sounded tough at the meet-the-press session after the pre-hari raya goodies presentation ceremony at Mindef that’s a give away. He had to sound serious since questions had been fielded. A silly answer would get him in trouble as well. He had only referred to a potential racial strife caused by careless talks.

It’s no endgame but just an appearance. So you need not worry. The soldiers will remain in their barracks unless of course they are deployed (on request) for Public Order duties. That is, however, a last resort.

    Cheers mate.
    ____________
Okay lah, I defer to you since you have 30 years of service with the military, but do not bet your last ringgit. 8) Give it to charity—anak-anak yatim will do fine.–Din Merican

  31. My read on the good general’s comments are actually positive.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but he’s asking the government to issue the order to silence Ahmad Ismail.

I think he understands that unless Ahmad is silenced, the situation will escalate to the point where the army may be called in by the ruling elite.

His statement to me emphasizes his wish for the army to remain neutral and not be brought out by the ruling elite.

By the same token, his statement also frightens me in that he does not show the confidence of his absolute command of the troops if they are brought out.
    ____________
romerz, thanks for another point of view, more optimistic than my view of the military.

On Ahmad, it is, I repeat, a Badawi problem. How will he handle the man’s defiance and the pressure put on him by the BN component parties will show how weak a leader he is. He cannot be seen responding to pressure from the MCA and Gerakan, because Mahathir and his gang are waiting for him to make a slip and they will pounce him. Overall, Badawi is not in a good political situation. In the end, Ahmad becomes an UMNO wira.—Din Merican

  32. I think there shouldnt do any mind-reading which could lead no where.

Hawkeye’s has done a factual Statistical Forecasting using I-Ching which was used successfully for the past 5000 years by Chinese Military Strategists.

He said the D-day casts a Sovereign hexagram. In Chinese it means the most propitious time for the launch. Having said that, the ball is now on the party.

To be or Not to be… That’s the question!

  33. The assessment given by our Fathol Zaman is correct.

But personally I would like see the military brass shed off some of the political apathy that they have shown so far. When the government has been hijacked by a group of corrupt politicians who are only interested in lining their pockets, and through cronyism build financial empires for themselves and their cronies, it is time they take positions. They are whether they like it or not the final arbiter of democracy, justice and a rule of law.

When the rule of law is under siege and under threat, their role would be refuse to be a tool of oppression.

  34. A good advised from Armed Force General………….. General tak kata pada siapa-apa pun… apa yang dia perkatakan adalah dalam bentuk umum tidak ditujukan kepada siapa-siapa tanpa menyebelahi mana-mana pihak.. Kenapa you all sibuk sangat. Salah ke nasihat General tu? Kalau pandai sangat engko lah jadi General atau pun KPN….

  35. Fathol,

I cudn’t disagree with Pak Din one bit…

“But I will never gamble with our country’s democracy and our freedom by wishful thinking. ”

Why shud Aziz get involved at all in the running of the state?

Being an ex Army man myself n knowing how the system works, I m sharing my two cents worth here…

In upholding to protect the SOVEREIGNTY AND RESOURCES OF THE STATE, (isn’t that what the Armed Forces role is all about?), the army (not forgetting the navy and air force as well) should be trained to be vigilant and act accordingly n with the utmost restraint n minimal force 2 ensure that this can b attained.

Aziz to be perceived as taking sides (by making a statement) whilst the politics of administration of the resources of state is in due progress is certainly not really necessary and uncalled for. Hence remarks by Pak Din to…”Stay in the barracks and shut up” and … . “Use his intelligence assets to monitor real enemies of our country ” certainly hold true.

I must n certainly agree that the dynamics for the road to democracy be left to the players in the field n the instruments of state (the police, the armed Forces etc etc) not be involved in any way by taking sides or perceived to take sides. U n I certainly can envisage the consequence of the latter.

Even writing this post can be perceived by readers /others as me taking the sides of Pak Din. Isn’t that what democracy is all about? Now that I have chosen not to b a member of the “instrument of state” which I once was; gives me that freedom called democracy to do so by sharing my two cents worth quite openly n democratically as enshrined in our Constitution. Had I been or still m in the force, it wll certainly not b fair for me to take sides or perceived to take sides. I have just to shut up n do my work as I attest to uphold on joining the force.

In this instance where the future of my children ( i have six now) n grandchildren ( I have also six now and many more to come God willing ) is so much at stake; certainly no right thinking citizen will just keep quiet about it, knowing that the resources of the state is being plundered , pilfered n unjustly administered n mismanaged by those few hanging desperately for power. Think about it.

    Happy puasa 2 all.

take care..do keep the thread alive.

  36. another way of intimidating the rakyat..azizi

can’t agree with u more azizi …intimidation is certainly akin to an invitation for a brawl, duel, fight, conflict etc etc etc. U must have heard or read ” The Warring Factions” in the Annals of Chinese history.

If we dare call ourselves siblings ( arn’t we all being citizens we shout so much together just 10 days ago Merdeka! Merdeka! Merdeka!) in a state called Malaysia ? Intimidation by which ever party in the siblinghood is certainly the start of the end of that relationship nurtured 51 years ago. Squabbles will surely occur in our multi racial configuration mix n this I am sure all of us agree will make life much more interesting really.

However, the unjust n improper management of the state’s vast resources by so few in power now certainly warrants all right thinking siblings to stand up n question their actions. Surely intimidation is certainly uncalled for. It’s akin to the Ghee Hins n Hai Hongs gangsterism methods of the tin mines of yesteryears. Pls stop it . Isn’t that what Merdeka is all about..TO BE FREE ???

  37. The Malaysian Generals are incorruptible and will defend the country against all enemies. They will not simply side with Najib even if he should offer to pay them millions of ringgit into their Cayman accounts. Anyway Najib doesn’t have that kind of money with his ministerial pay. Since 8 of these generals among others who are all incorruptible and are Muslims can be trusted so there is no need for them swear on any holy book. So we the rakyat through our history know that the army will never come out to kill citizens because they are loyal to their King and country. It is thus better that more generals come out and speak up against enemies of our country who happen in this case to be citizens of Malaysia whose blood are sacred to every Malaysian. I don’t mean that the enemy is Ahmad but the others who are over-reacting to him and calling him racist, when these people are the very people who must be frightened into not coming onto the streets as they have done in the past. These people who are crying for the blood of Ahmad are evil people who have the means to use violence with their guns, rifles, tanks, grenades, missiles, etc and their whole arsenal of mass destruction. So it is fitting that the army though they are not as well-armed to do their best to destroy the enemies of our country who coincidentally through no fault of theirs happen to be of a different race.

  38. Another thing, everyone seems to think that our present government is bad. Just wait until the new Barisan takes over and clean Malaysia up. With Najib and Khairy our incorruptible leaders’ sincere help as they are good Muslims, Malaysia will overtake Vietnam, Singapore, South Korea, etc. We are still better than so many other countries like great countries like Bangladesh, Nepal, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, North Korea, Bhutan, and many other similarly well-developed African States. Then Sabah and Sarawak will be so glad they asked for change because UMNO will, when it gets back its full strength, deal with them appropriately. Sabah and Sarawak will be getting all the help they have always been given by the Federal government all these years since they joined the federation. The people of these two states chose their great leaders and these leaders have always delivered as can be seen by the vast development of these two states. This is the reason why for these few decades they have been having these same great leaders who have brought unimaginable progress to these states.

  39. This Abdul Aziz Zainal must be related to either Badawi or Najubur. Talk about allegiance. The DiRaja should be removed from the armed forces label if they ever decide to take sides.

  40. A humble response to ONE

Thru your remark “The Malaysian Generals are incorruptible and will defend the country against all enemies” , I assume that u must b ONE (whatever your racial origins may be) ..either still am a serving member or probably ONE… who had served b4 in the service or ONE …who’s been directed to write favourably about the Malaysian Generals

My understanding of your remark…”It is thus better that more generals come out and speak up ” certainly confirms that you r ONE who does not wish to be left out in the partake in the affairs of the country being a citizen yourself
    n this i truly appreciate.

By all means , yes come out and speak up…BUT..I REPEAT BUT ….COME OUT OF THE FORCE AND SPEAK UP; leave the service and join the ranks of those who are actively participating presently re the issues of political, economic, social, financial etc etc etc well being of the country.

Certainly not whilst you are still in the force because , whenever you speak there will probably be NO ONE / ANY ONE 2 check n balance whatever u speak , certainly so if the responses r contrary to whatever u speak /have spoken if u happen to hold a rank that’s more senior to yours. Isn’t that what a military state is ? But u must remember we r not a military state but in a democracy n EVERYONE can say their piece whether contrary or not to yours.

Being in the cyber world, sometimes the identity of the writer/blogger is concealed thru a pseudonym for reasons best known 2 d writer/blogger,However u n I know there r certainly ways to find out who that person is.

If u happen to b still a serving member of the force (whatever rank u may b)
if u can fathom the consequence of your remarks
My two cents worth 2 u… stay in the barracks and shut up.

BTW I have not even responded to what u meant by that golden word…”enemies” yet

haji muhammad bin abdullah @ tan wah guan

Due regards n thx to U Br Din for using your blog..

  41. Peristiwa lanun menawan kapal MISC memberi kita 2 pengajaran
