  1. This book illustrates the importance of strong leadership, team building. and good governance in national development. Singapore is a role model for the rest of the developing world. I congratulate John Curtis Perry on a well written book, which is a must read for those of us who are interested in socio-economic development and Lee Kuan Yew who tirelessly brought the country he loved into the First World. I admire LKY and will remember him as one of the finest sons of Southeast Asia. –Din Merican

  2. I agree with you. But as many people from a far have to read about it we the baby boomers in the region had to live through this pace of development of a State without learning from it.

  3. Suggest read “Defending the Lion City” by Tim Huxley first published in 2000. The book discusses Singapore which has never experienced armed attack or an explicit threat of force since independence, should engage in defence provision well beyond that of its neighbors.
