  1. Merry Christmas to you and Datin and as a “Perantau” or “Anak Dagang di USA” thanks for continuing to facilitate readers to get some glimpses of Malaysian issues of the day with this blog.
I hate the present UMNO regime, but I am proud of Malaysia. I will continue to fight for change. Najib must be punished for what he and Rosmah have done to soil the image of Malaysia. Here is something for you.

  2. Thanks for the song, Pak Din. It recalls plenty – of the good old youthful days in my kampong. How l miss them.

We’re sinking, slowly but surely and there’s little we can do. The rural folks are too engrossed in religion and survival to care much about Klepto and his Birkin-crazy wife.

The Opposition is fractured and leaderless. I am hoping for a miracle to happen. But, as Pak Din has rightly said, it’s wishful thinking.

Whatever it is, Christmas is around the corner. Let’s be merry inspite of the uncertainty.

  3. Christmas should be the happy time of year, an opportunity to be joyful and grateful with family, friends and colleagues. Yet, according to the National Institute of Health, Christmas is the time of year that people experience a high incidence of depression. One survey reported that 45% of respondents dreaded the festive season. Our police and paramedic forces are most busy at this time of year.

Why? Is the Grinch in full force during the season? Is it because of the dark cold winter weather that increases the incidence of Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)? Certainly those may be some reasons, but it appears to have more to do with unrealistic expectations and excessive self-reflection for many people.

The Christmas season has become a difficult time for many people in our society. For those of us who don’t have difficulties at this time of year, it’s an opportunity to reach out to those who become depressed. For those who are depressed, it’s an opportunity to take action to think, feel and act in ways that breaks free from the past.

I like to take the opportunity of the time of year to wish Din and Dr. Kamsiah, Conrad, CLF, Semper fi, Tok Cik, Dr Phua, Wayne, katasayang, Hawking Eyes, Isa Manteqi, Orang Malaya, looes74, Veritas…et al, a Happy Holidays Season. I like reading your comments and have learned something. And especially thanking Dato Din to provide this platform for our interactions. May we have a better year 2017.

  4. Pope Francis stated that ‘Old age is the seat of wisdom’ and hoped for a ‘fruitful and joyous old age’ as he kicked of his 80th birthday.

The Pontiff is an exceptional person who speaks words of wisdom. Unfortunately many may view his words as words of a ‘senile’ man because policies referring to employment and the treatment of senior citizens by societies and laws.

It is common for those of advanced age rarely consider themselves old and cling to power by any means even when some of them may be on the door step of their Makers. This is common for those who holding leadership positions in Governments-Politics-Corporate-NGOs-Religions-Societies-etc. Most of them are so used to living at the expense of others that they get themselves appointed to positions where they may not be able to contribute any wisdom.

There is no shortage of examples of such old retirees in positions in Governments Agencies/Commissions/Committees-GLCs-Politics-Corporate-NGOs-Religions-Societies-etc living luxuriously at the expense of ordinary citizens/shareholders/devotees/donors/members. Some do deserve the respect and position they are in by their alert minds and wisdom and to them my thanks but the majority should reflect on their own before they accept or seek positions where they may not be able to contribute anything for the benefit of citizens.

Apologies for any misunderstanding but all I am trying to do is reflect on the advise of the Holy See.

  5. Ae very MERRY CHRISTMAS wish for our Christian brethren wherever they may be on this small Planet of ours….

A suggestion as a goodwill : Muslims should try to see this movie ( a cassette ) concerning ‘ JESUS OF NAZARETH ‘ by Franco Zefarrelli , for Reflection and for comparative knowledge……because the Final Message brought by the noble Prophet encompasses , or embraces , the Messages brought by preceding prophets , including Jesus ( pbh ), Moses (pbh ) , right up to Abraham (pbh ) , and in between, David , Solomon , Zacharias and many more…..

(Prof Ahmad Deedat of South Africa has a long list in his self-compiled Studies & research ……mostly in comparative terms )
