Farewell 2015. Welcome 2016 and Thanks for the Memories

Din2016

When I say that 2015 was a Year of major disappointments and frustrations, I am being generous. It was, in fact, a horrible year for our country. We have become a divided nation led by a corrupt leader who would not hesitate to use the awesome power of his office to cling desperately to his job.

Never before in my life have I witnessed a nation torn apart by race and religion. Suddenly we are being given the impression that the survival of the Malays as a race and a people are being threatened by pendatangs. Nothing can be further from the truth than that. In stead, we should count our blessings because our diversity is strength.

UMNO politicians have nothing better to do than to create a bogeyman to divert our attention from the fact that they have been solely responsible for running our nation to the ground. In stead to serving the people of Malaysia, they have served themselves.

Corruption has been rampant in 2015, and we face a crisis of confidence because our Prime Minister has been lying to us. And he is getting away with it because most of us do not care enough to make a stand. 2016 is going to be another terrible year as issues boil over. Restoring trust will be our challenge for 2016. How will our government respond, with more gaffes, or with vision and verve?

Be as it may, Dr. Kamsiah and I wish you all a Happy 2016 and thank you for your support . You, all our friends and associates around the world, provided invaluable comments on this blog that are both constructive and very educational. To our fellow Malaysians, we urge you to stay united as we believe bad times do not last, but resolute people do.– Dr. Kamsiah and Din Merican

  1. Happy New Year 2016, to you and Dr Kamsiah. Though I don’t know the two of you personally, I feel like we’re old friends because of the thoughts and stories you publish in your blogs. When I lose all hope I’m reminded of like minded people that only want what’s best for the country and its people – there will be light at the end of the tunnel… God bless and happy a good year ahead!

Never lose Faith in AlMighty God. Justice will be done. It is just a matter of time. Keep reading, learning, thinking and writing. Salam 2016. –Din Merican and Dr. Kamsiah.

  2. Country of spinners with retarded minded jokers who have lost all their dignity and integrity have led the country to its abyss politically and financially. It was a bleak year we have just passed without settling many of the woes of the rakyat. Comedians of the Government and the agencies of the government are clinging on to their boss to save him from his loot.

Hopefully, I pray to the almighty for a change to see the brighter side of the sunrise to shine on this beautiful land of Malaysia when the New Year 2016 is born for all of us live in peace and prosperity with good mutual understanding. Too bad to think of year 2015.

A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR !

  3. Selamat tahun baru Bro Din. Memangnya 2015 tahun yang mengecewakan rakyat Malaysia, kecuali golongan pengampu & pembodek.

Selamat Tahun Baru, Brader. UMNO merosakkan Melayu.–Din Merican.

  4. If any prediction is made that 2016 for the world will be better than 2015 it might be just a hope that may turn out to be wishful thinking. My view is based on the assumption that the financial/natural/other disasters will probably continue as the leadership responsible for 2015 events may still be in power who will probably continue what they have been doing except at a larger scale and with greater finesse so that the expected escalation of frauds-corruption-mismanagement will not bring any punishment to those held or perceived responsible as they may also be the one controlling the enforcement and the laws and their implementors.
THE ALMIGHTY MAY HAVE GIVEN UP ON THE HUMANS WHO MAY USE THEIR INTELLIGENCE MORE FOR SELF SERVICE/GREED/INTEREST INCLUDING USING THE NAME OF THEIR RESPECTIVE ALMIGHTY TO JUSTIFY THEIR ACTIONS.
ANY LIFE IS BASED ON HOPE AND THE HOPE IS THAT I BE PROVEN WRONG AND BY SOME MIRACLE [FOR WHICH CREDIT WILL BE TAKEN BY LEADERS] DOES MAKE 2016 BETTER.
WISHING ALL A HAPPY-HEALTHY NEW YEAR.

  5. Happy New Year to the couple of the Year. Let no one stop us from our aspirations of a fair and equitable society governed by leaders with impeccable integrity. We struggle not for ourselves but for our future generations. History has proven time and again that ultimately truth will prevail, and the corrupt will be destroyed.

  6. Perhaps this old patriotic song may serve to remind us of what the nation needs to strive towards, and sooth some aching hearts…

SEJAHTERA MALAYSIA by Wincci & Daniel

  7. 2015 or 2016, whats the difference? Malaysia is still ruled by the TipuKing and his band of merry men. Rakyat still taken for a ride and made to carry the burden of TipuKing extravaganza spending. The Tipuing will continue unabated.

UMNO battle cry is to redeem the Malay maruah and to stop the pendatangs from stealing the wealth of the nation. Yet the TipuKing can maintain his poker face when announcing the sale of power plants and the 1MDB development projects to Chinese companies, not the pendatangs but mainland Chinese companies. Whith goes the Malay Maruah?

  8. Governments in the First World and the Third World are preparing to launch war on The Internet for different reasons. But it appears that the powerful business lobby may prevail. A Blog may be unavailable in Singapore but you can read it in Indonesia. The Internet is the last resort until it also becomes Main Stream Media in say another 25 years. The cycle will then begin all over again.

  9. A belated Happy New Year 2016 to you and Kamsiah. As I said somewhere earlier on, some peope are optimistic about 2016 but I think otherwise. This is because there are so many matters which have yet to be resolved. Oldies like me who are not able to take an acrive role in politics because of our physical handicap are stil concerned and worried because of the contnuous rise in the cost of living.
