Najib Razak advised to stop fooling the Malaysian public

Arul, Lodin and Najib

Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak appears unwilling to emulate the leaders of developed nations, preferring to follow the ways of crass leaders who don’t care about the welfare of their people and the future of their countries, political analyst Aspan Alias comments in his latest blog posting.

He also alleges that Najib seems to persist in insulting the Malaysian public’s collective intelligence, “lowering it to the level of his own intelligence”. Aspan makes these remarks in reference to Najib’s apparent belief that the calls for his resignation have been coming only from certain groups with questionable motives.

“Najib finds it difficult to admit that it’s no longer possible to fool the Malaysian public,” he says. “He still cannot accept that he’s looked down upon not only by Malaysian society, but by the international community as well.

“He still believes that the talk about public pressure for him to resign is a fiction made up by people who do it out of sheer joy of seeing him suffer.” Aspan contends that it is not in human nature to derive joy from applying pressure on someone. He says the calls for Najib’s resignation are made out of necessity.

The same, he adds, applies to the rest of the Cabinet. “It’s their failure to carry out their duties that presses the people to call for their resignation.” He alleges that all the members of the Cabinet have been guilty of allowing Najib to do as he pleased in his role as Finance Minister. “It’s only now that we hear some of them agreeing that Najib must answer the public’s questions,” he says.

Recalling reports last March that the Cabinet unanimously approved the RM950 million standby credit for 1MDB, Aspan remarks that the Cabinet members could be considered even more irresponsible than Najib.

“They talk about defending the interests of religion, race and the nation, but we can see that they have no religion, that their race has lost its identity, and that the nation is in  total disarray.”

  1. We must remember that some of these cabinet ministers are actually shamelessly there through the back door.

  2. Not only is Najib fooling the public, he is doing it in mockery and with utmost contempt for the ordinary Malaysians on the street.

  3. I just want to see the PM charged in court with his gang of thieves and if found guilty be punished according to the law of this country. Enough of comments and enough of reading new nonsense every other day! Just pray somebody will get the Yang DiPertuan Agong to establish a Royal Commission of Inquiry and get rid of all these thieves and robbers and cheats and scoundrels once and for all….

  4. The time to “advise” is long gone. Time to take action, put pressure in every legitimate way possible and force a resignation. No deals or plea bargaining. Wind up 1MDB and cut the losses now before it becomes worse.

  5. From what I gather from the media and discussions with some people, it looks like there are many people who do not think much of soe of thoose in the Cabinet. I suppose this is to be expected, especally those appointed by the Prime Minister. Surely, we cannot expect them to go aganst the PM who apponted them unless they choose to resign which is unlikely to happen. We commoners just have to wait and see who is right and who is wrong and what the end result will be. Chung Tat Lim.

  6. Najib now is off balance because keeping quite doesn’t work. Now he is more on the offensive but the public want answers on all accusations .The people are very focused that they want nothing less than his resignation .My whole family has decided that UMNO-BN will never get one single vote in coming general election. It is real waste Of time and money supporting UMNO because everyone holding any position are more concerned about financial benefits and glory.

    Sdr Noh,
Thanks and welcome. I gave up on UMNO years ago. Let us hope more Malays realise that UMNO is now almost defunct. It has lost its relevance in today’s politics. It is a mistake to play the race and religion cards when Malays know that UMNO is a party of cronies and crooks.–Din Merican

  7. Najib should just answer all allegations truthfully & sincerely without fear or favour. Why resort to self-denial when his integrity is already questionable in d eyes of the rakyat?
