Pak Kadiaq’s Advice to PM Najib: Run the Country and UMNO

Kadir Jasin likens the PM to the fictional Don Quixote, who instead of fighting the Opposition, is attacking imaginary enemies from within his own party.

Fresh from the ruckus at MIC’s headquarters yesterday that saw deathPak Kadiaq threats and gangsters taking centre stage, veteran journalist Kadir Jasin took to his blog saying the country’s political coalitions, both Opposition and ruling, were falling apart at the seams much to the oblivious Prime Minister Najib Razak who was busy attacking imaginary enemies instead.

Likening Najib to the fictional Don Quixote, Kadir said, “Weak BN leadership is encouraging component parties to go their own ways” in reference to MIC’s internal strife, which he warned, if not resolved, would adversely affect Barisan Nasional, as the ruling coalition depended on the Indian vote to stay in power.

He also noted the “growing discontent” within UMNO itself, and lamented that instead of fighting the Pakatan Rakyat, Najib’s “real foes”, the PM and his “UMNO psychological warfare machinery” were bent instead on attacking imaginary enemies like former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad and former Finance Minister Daim Zainuddin.

He said, “They (Najib and his machinery) committed the ultimate misstep by enlisting Opposition Leader (Datuk Seri) Anwar Ibrahim and his PKR cohorts to attack Daim on prime time TV and in the UMNO-controlled newspapers,” only to run “helter-skelter” when Daim himself said he knew who was behind the campaign that was smearing his good name.

Saying point blank, “Mohd Najib should be less gullible and spend more time running the country and party,” Kadir added, “He should by now realise that not everybody in his payroll are as good as they promoted themselves to be.He should stop following his daydreaming Don Quixotes on their silly missions fighting the windmills.”

najib-peningHe said another sign that Najib was failing miserably in keeping his coalition intact, was the way BN parties in Sarawak were “striking out on their own”.

“The state government is surreptitiously flexing its muscle over immigration by barring many Peninsula residents from entering the state.

“Even civil servants and GLC employers are subjected to closer scrutiny now before being allowed entry,” he said, noting that the “supposedly weak and amiable” Adenan Satem was proving to be more decisive that his predecessor when it came to corruption and abuse of power.

He also had some words of advice for Opposition leaders, telling them that their future lay with the “younger and more idealistic leaders, and their youthful supporters”, not “old-timers” like Anwar Ibrahim, Lim Kit Siang and Hadi Awang, who they should “wean” themselves off.

He, however, said that 1MDB would continue to haunt the Opposition coalition even if they came to power.“I told them that if ever they win, they can choose to banish Mohd Najib and his merry men (and women) to the mythical Laut Kalzum (Kalzum Sea) to be devoured by the Garuda, but 1MDB will not disappear.

“The debt-laden sovereign fund will become their problem. So are other issues the country is now facing.”

Saying, “At the end of the day, it’s not about politics but about the country,” Kadir added, “…the future of UMNO, the Malays and Islam is far more important than the future of any one person in UMNO.”

  1. It is one Big mistake to take on Daim and Mahathir. They may have their differences, but when it comes to the survival of UMNO, both the Tuns are united. This fight is not about to end anytime soon. At the end of the day, Najib may have to go. That will be good not only for UMNO but also for our country. We just cannot have a Prime Minister who has no guts and the capacity to govern. To be govern one must lead and not be led.–Din Merican

  2. This guys tale would be good as one of Baron Münchhausen’s stories.he beats the drum of Ketuanan Melayu ” the future of UMNO, Malays and Islam…of UMNO”, WHAT about Malaysians old chap the non Ketuanans? It ‘s OK for a state to prevent and bodily handle opposition leaders, social activists, but hey bro you cannot do this to us Ketuanan Melayus from UMNO, GLCs et all that’s HARAM!
We are the chosen ones are we not as “ketuanan melayus” TOUCH ME NOT.

You give your unsolicited advice to the opposition leaders who should “wean” themselves off, but hey its OK for the two TUNS to constantly inject venom and lies to the nation through their “patriots” in RTM, MEDIA PRIMA, NST, BERITA HARIAN, Utusan Melayu. Perkasa. Perkida, ISMA and all other mushrooming Ketaunan NGOs. So what advice to the to them Pak?

As to 1MDB worry not Lord Murugan ( noted for freeing people oppressed from cruel kings ) in form of “Arul kanda Kandasamy” will see things through. after all Ahmad Mazlan when introducing Arul said he was “beragama Islam” so have faith Pak

I could go on but will say as far as kadiaq’s advice it is “what’s good for the Goose is NOT good for the gander” Right PAK?

As to Jibby “nec sat qua sit iter” OVID

    Salam

  3. A good write-up by Kadir Jasin.P.M. Najib should take note of it. About 50 years ago, a head of department in the University of Malaya told me that some men were born to lead, some only to follow. He believed that Najib belonged to the latter group. True enough, he was never a good or effective leader. .But he was at least honest about himself. So, it would be nice if most of us knew what we are – leaders or followers? Probably, just followers! A Leader leads, but Najib is being led. Born with a silver spoon, he cannot connect with us ordinary folks. What should be noted that he is incompetent and irresponsible. Right now, he is buying support with his slush funds in 1MDB and demanding pledges of loyalty from GLC chiefs and senior civil servants. It is not necessary to do that. All he has to do is govern properly. He has wasted billions in his 6 years as Prime Minister and must account at some stage for his actions. Fortunately, CT, he is not an alumnus of University of Malaya, although our university is also quite capable of producing idiots.–Din Merican

  4. 1. The three-cornered fight (Mahathir versus Najib-Rosmah versus Anwar Ibrahim)
has now become Mahathir-Daim versus Najib-Rosmah versus Anwar Ibrahim ?

    2. According to the article above: “He, however, said that 1MDB would continue to haunt the Opposition coalition even if they came to power.“I told them that if ever they win, they can choose to banish Mohd Najib and his merry men (and women) to the mythical Laut Kalzum (Kalzum Sea) to be devoured by the Garuda, but 1MDB will not disappear. “The debt-laden sovereign fund will become their problem. So are other issues the country is now facing.”

My comment: we need a new broom to sweep clean the economic mess that is now
facing our country. We need someone like President Rafael Correa of Ecuador.

  5. “He also noted the “growing discontent” within UMNO itself, and lamented that instead of fighting the Pakatan Rakyat, Najib’s “real foes”, the PM and his “UMNO psychological warfare machinery” were bent instead on attacking imaginary enemies like former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad and former Finance Minister Daim Zainuddin.”

Unfortunately Najib is anything like the Man from La Mancha. There is nothing imaginary in the attacks by Daim and Mahathir or their proxies like PERKASA and ISMA not to mention the sycophants and acolytes of both within and without UMNO.

In fact the reason why Najib can’t run the country besides the fact that he is incompetent is because most of his time, his allies and him are fending of attacks from the bottom feeders and their masters who desire nothing but complete hegemony.

The subsidiaries of UMNO faltering is a combination of weak leadership and the loss of popular support after decades of not having to prove the first or appealing to the second. A weird sense of entitlement seems to have been transferred by osmosis from the master to his slaves*.

Strange but understandable since mainstream Malaysians ridiculed those who were voting opposition (sic) back in the day when doing so meant that “those” people didn’t understand that BN meant stability.

(*My thinking of the UMNO/MCA/MIC relationship is like that of Calvin Candie and his loyal house slave Stephen in Django Unchained. As far as PR is concerned I think their dynamics is like any relationship from Goodfellas)

There can be nothing “good” for UMNO because anything good for UMNO as history shows means “bad” for anything that remotely resembles good governance.

Aggressors playing the victims is SOP for the Ketuanan types but really all this is not about saving UMNO or running the country but rather a serving of “Princes in this case / Do hate the traitor, though they love the treason.”

  6. The fact Najib has surived six years is already a surprise. The fact is if not for the favourable economics of China and Fed Easing, Najib would not have lasted this long. He has never lasted long in ANY JOB – every single one of them he leaves with some mess. He is not incompetent but he is not qualified for the challenge of the time. Never was. He simply reflects UMNO generation of mediocrity from Mahathir’s rule. Leaders that are more remove from Mahathir, generation removed like those in PKR younger leaders are really the most qualified.

  7. I would say Najib, UMNO and BN must go. We can have new alignment of sorts with parties in Borneo and Pakatan (minus conservative PAS).
The entire UMNO is rotten to the core.

  8. Najib, UMNO & all of the BN component parties are a big bunch of idiots & fools. Watching them fighting each other is like watching a circus performance. So funny.

  9. Do you guys really think all this hullabaloo is really getting critical?
Look, Pak Kadiaq and so on are masters at deception, if not perception.
They have the ability to rile up the bottom and stir up the mud. So what we see is a whole lot of muddying by the hardcore UMNOb-fied software, trying hard to stay relevant and ‘in-the-know’.

Knee-Jerkism requires that this provocation be met with a similar, if not a more severe form of salacious/scandalous counter-attacks by the defenders of the Indefensible. That’s how Idiots react. No?

As far as i know, Head Oblivion and partner, the Ovoid Blob pretends that they are way above the fray. They leave it to their el-Stupidos. Yes, they may lack empathy simply because they are ‘Entitled’, ‘Aristocratic’ and ‘Stratospherically Smart’. They intend to ride out the storm, unlike QZ 8501 which went into terminal stall.

Only that the 1MDB scandal and Mongolian Model may be the missiles that are effective. That scares the hell out of them. But to be effective, they must be fired up at the right time. Who knows when?

I think instead of speculating what might be, it is better that Oblivion starts growing his own pair of Cojones, and stop listening to his obese, maniacal, hubristic half and her cohort of lady-boys. He really has zilch back-up. So his buddy from his profligate and wastrel past is now lending him a hand to drown himself.

Anwar pretends to be a pawn, but has something up his sleeve. He will walk free, in spirit. And Pakatan will devolve from a Triad into a Triumvirate. Comprendo?

  10. How about hiring Lee Kuan Yew or Goh Chok Tong
on a 5-year contract to act as the PM of Malaysia ?
(NOTE: this is an early April Fool’s joke. Also, an early
    pre-“GST in April 2015” joke).

  11. Kadir Jasin, the so-called ‘veteran’ newsman should take his own advice and stop imposing his views on the public. Do a Zam Al Kazam perhaps? How else would the average ketuanan and non ketuanan rakyat ever wean themselves from rabble rousing ‘have beens’ such as him? In any case what is this constant carping about “UMNO, the Malays and Islam” knowing full well that the country has been brought to its sorry state by … UMNO, the Malays and Islam?
