Idris Jala can explain why a lenient out of court settlement for Tajuddin Ramli
by Aidila Razak@http://www.malaysiakini.com
PKR’s Subang MP Sivarasa Rasiah believes former Malaysia Airlines System chairperson Tajuddin Ramli may have a hold on “someone powerful in the government”, since no criminal charges have been preferred against him and he obtained a relatively lenient out-of-court settlement.
Speaking at a press conference in Tropicana, Sivarasa said the same could be asked of the lack of criminal action taken against Tajuddin, despite the several Police reports and a Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission report against him by the senior management of MASKargo in 2007.
“Who is this person who is so powerful in the Malaysian government, in the cabinet probably, that Tajuddin is able to squeeze so hard that he can do all this?” he asked.
“Two people who can start helping us answer this question are ministers in the Prime Minister’s Department Idris Jala and Nazri Abdul Aziz, who has been in the news talking about the settlements,” he said.
Sivarasa said Idris could shed some light as he took over as MAS CEO in 2007 and had, according to the MASKargo MACC report, briefed the then prime minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi on the alleged wrongdoings by Tajuddin in the same year.

Ok so Idris Jala is a Christian Sarawakian and a belakang kira Senator who is now Minister Without Portfolio, euphemism for errand boy for the Prime Minister. In that case don’t count on him to rock the boat.

Hang Mongkut Bean,
The MAS vs Tajuddin Ramli case goes to trial starting March 12, 2012 according to Bernama. Don’t speak too soon. Idris Jala may be asked to testify under oath. A Police report against Tajuddin by MAS during Jala’s tenure as MAS Managing Director. –Din Merican
He rocked the boat earlier with Mahathir and then Najib. He will not be doing it for the third and last time.
Can’t the public get hold of a copy of the settlement agreement? What happened to the Freedom of Information Act? Is there one? Not a public document but a private one? Don’t you think it should be made subject to public disclosure rules because of the huge public interest involved. If there are legal fetters to its public disclosure, can not those be waived?
I guess not. It is after all BolehLand.

Ok there is a just a glimmer of hope of a public disclosure. But only when Idris anak Jala is called to testify in court and under oath and under threat of perjury. Would disclosure not be subject to the Official Secrets Act since MAS remains a government corporation? Is MAS not unlike Petronas?
Could it be Abdullah Badawi the person who was squeezed hard by Tajuddin Ramli, resulting in Dato Ramli Yusuff and his lawyer, Rosli Dahlan being prosecuted. Najib should come clean on this as with other matters like NFC and the latest road construction project given to an UMNO lawyer and the former Lord President. Malaysia stinks.

L Jantan, I have transferred the youtube video you posted to the article above. Sivarasa is in the command of the facts. Badawi should explain himself since he is dubbed Mr. Clean. He is MAS advisor and his own brother has a massive catering contract with the national carrier. Isn’t that a conflict of interest? He has compromised his position and should resign his post. That is my view.–Din Merican
A large road construction project has gone to Abang Aki?? For services rendered in the service of King and country or more like UMNO? What should we expect?
Isn’t Shahrizat senior partner along with this UMNO lawyer in the law firm of Shahrizat, Rashid & Lee once upon a time?

You can’t be serious. UMNO politicians led by the country’s PM are up to their noses in cow shit and you’re asking them to come clean??

Dollah is advisor and has no role in the daily management and operations of the corporation. Unlike Tajuddin Ramli. Being a board director he clearly usurped corporate opportunites that came his way for his own personal interest. That he is not supposed to do. He could be made to regurgitate the proceeds he made back to the corporation.
Dollah is advisor for what? mkn gaji buta n flying first class all over the world..alamak ini 1Malaya – there are many qualified person la..ni lantik so called Mr. Clean esp, in Clean Sleep not Clean Sweep.. hahahahah?
