Permatang Puah: “We will bury Anwar Ibrahim”,says arrogant Khairy Jamaluddin

Permatang Pauh
August 21, 2008

Khairy Jamaluddin (KJ), the MP for Rembau and the infamous son-in-law of the lame duck Prime Minister arrives in Seberang Jaya to campaign for and support UMNO’s candidate for the Parlimentary seat of Permatang Pauh, Ariff Shah.

Without any inkling of strong popular sentiments on the ground for Anwar Ibrahim, as reflected in the number of Permatang Pauhans who turned up each night since August 16, 2008 by the thousands at his ceramahs, KJ arrogantly announced that he had come to bury the political career of the de facto PKR leader cum prime mover of Pakatan Rakyat. This is sheer arrogance of a brash young man with an inflated view of himself.

KJ had no clues whatsover about the state of politics in Permatang Pauh and how angry people here are about corruption and incompetency under the Barisan Nasional Administration led by Koh Tsu Khoon and greed of local UMNO mafias.

With UMNO has going for it today is its loads of money (cash). With that, UMNO believes they can buy voters and officials. But that is not sufficient to “bury Anwar”, who together with his wife Datuk Seri Dr. Wan Azizah Wan Ismail has been serving the people here since 1982.

Their record of dedicated service to the rakyat, both Anwar Ibrahim’s and his wife Datuk Seri Wan Azizah’s, is impeccable. We will have to wait till August 26 to know the final decision of the people here. But from the responses to his ceramahs where thousands turned up to hear his message of hope and sacrifice for a better united Malaysia, we know that KJ is engaging in wishful thinking. Anwar’s audience could feel his vision and passion for his country.

Anwar is not a “traitor” to the Malays, as UMNO propaganda would have people in Permatang Puah believe. In stead he is a student of history, experienced leader who was both Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, and a devout Muslim of intellectual bent with strong core values founded on an enlightened understanding of Islam in the context of the modern era. He has the guts to champion the cause of change for a better Malaysia and despite many attempts to break him mentally and hurt him physically, Anwar remains steadfast to his beliefs in democracy, freedom and justice.

The voters of Permatang Pauh have faith in him and Pakatan Rakyat (PAS, PKR and DAP) and know that UMNO is corrupt and decadent. That is why they want change and that is why support of Anwar Ibrahim is strong. I have witnessed this myself as I attended his ceramahs and mingled with people who travelled by motor cycles and bicycles or walked to hear and touch him.

My colleagues, our friends and I have come to Permatang Pauh because we want to ensure that Anwar Ibrahim will have the chance to serve his people. We are in touch with the ground and know that the winds of change have come to this beautiful part of our country where the inhabitants are genuine, kind, humble and hospitable.

Money is important, no doubt, but these voters are concerned with their maruah and want opportunities to make their own money. They are not parasites bred by UMNO with easy and dirty money. They want to be part of the Merdeka that Anwar Ibrahim and Pakatan Rakyat represent.—Din Merican

Khairy: We’ve come to ‘bury’ Anwar
Beh Lih Yi | August 21, 2008
Barisan Nasional will not only defeat Anwar Ibrahim in the Aug 26 Permatang Pauh by-election, the ruling coalition will also bury his political career.

MCPX

This bold prognosis came from Umno Youth deputy chief Khairy Jamaluddin.

khairy jamaluddin umno bn permatang pauh by election campaign 210808 01Speaking at a ceramah in Seberang Jaya last night, he riled up the audience by characterising the upcoming contest as one that would decide the fate of the nation.

During a fiery 30-minute speech, Khairy said BN candidate Arif Shah Omar Shah’s true challenge was to end the career of the ‘power crazy’ opposition leader.

“We are here to bury Anwar’s political career. We are here to make history to ensure our nation’s future is free and safe from him!” he thundered to loud cheers from those present.

Standing on a makeshift stage, the Umno Youth leader fired a volley of scathing attacks, punctuated with biting jokes, against the PKR supremo.

Among others, he took a swipe at the opposition leader’s plan to form government, his alleged cronies, the explosive sodomy charge and the relationship between Pakatan Rakyat parties.

Reveal source of funds

Citing the arrests of two PKR Perak executive councillors by the Anti-Corruption Agency yesterday, he chided the opposition party for being inconsistent in their graft-busting campaign.

khairy jamaluddin umno bn permatang pauh by election campaign 210808 10He also touched on the RM15 billion worth of contracts which Anwar had allegedly given to his cronies – without tender – while he was in the BN government.

Khairy, who is the son-in-law of Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, also asked Anwar to reveal the source of his election war chest.

“I am afraid that if Anwar is elected as a MP and forms a new federal government, our country will be sold to the United States. I want to know where his (election) fund comes from,” he said.

The Rembau MP also reiterated his challenge to Anwar to make a religious oath to prove his innocence in relation to the sodomy allegation against him.

Why take Saiful overseas?

On June 28, Anwar’s former aide Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan filed a police report claiming that he was sodomised by the politician, who was subsequently charged with the offence.

saiful bukhari azlan and anwar ibrahim 150808 2Last Friday, Saiful, 23, swore on the Quran that he was sodomised by the opposition leader.

Anwar has denied the accusation, calling it a political conspiracy. He also dismissed the religious swearing, done on the eve of nomination day for the by-election, as a political gimmick.

Meanwhile, Khairy had the crowd in stitches when he avoided using the word sodomy. Instead, he said Saiful had swore on the Quran that he was indeed “dot, dot, dot” by Anwar.

Drilling further into the matter, he also asked why the PKR leader brought ‘coffee boy’ Saiful along for his travels abroad.

khairy jamaluddin umno bn permatang pauh by election campaign 210808 06“Anwar had an interview with Malaysiakini. I read Malaysiakini and they asked Anwar whether he took Saiful overseas and he replied ‘yes’.

“I don’t understand why he would take a coffee boy, a volunteer without a fixed salary, overseas. I never take my coffee boy abroad.

“However, my friend told me that if Anwar took him overseas then the coffee made by Saiful must be kaw-kaw (strong),” he added to laughter from his audience.

Towards the end of his speech, Khairy once again called on voters to reject Anwar and stressed that the BN-led government would be fair to all.

“Regardless if you are Malay, Chinese or Indian, we help all Malaysians,” he said.

Najib on fair policies

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak also pledged equal treatment for all during another function.

He told a 700-strong Chinese audience that the BN government has been fair to the community and allows them to retain their Chinese name – unlike the forced assimilation policies practised by neighbouring countries.

wanita umno with leaders event najib 050808 02“If you go to other places in the region, the Chinese had to change their names and couldn’t go to Chinese schools. But here, we let everyone practise their culture.

“The name Lee Chong Wei is still Lee Chong Wei. This is BN’s policy until today,” he said at the ceremony to hand over a cheque for RM300,000 to the Beijing Olympics silver medalist.

Najib also announced that RM800,000 has been approved for the building of a sports complex in the constituency.

Reiterating that BN has been fair to all, he said the government approved the building of different universities ran by the Chinese-based MCA and Gerakan, as well as the Indian-based MIC.

Without a fair policy, he added, some of the wealthiest men in the country would not be Chinese and Indians.

Without naming Anwar, the deputy premier took a certain ‘opposition leader’ to task for making irresponsible promises to the people.

“When he was in power, he did not do anything. When he is not in power now, he makes 1,001 promises to the people. This is just playing politics,” he said.

arif shah bn candidate permatang pauh by election walkabout 210808 01BN candidate Arif (photo, right), who was also present, briefly addressed the crowd in Mandarin and Hokkien before attacking his opponent.

“Anwar said if you vote him, you get two prizes (MP and a new premier) and if you vote me, you will just get one prize. He is lying because no BN MP will defect,” he said.

  1. To rephrase that primate rant, with the word ‘bury’, DS Anwar Ibrahim is more likely to bury umno arrogance in history.

DSAI will bury the past and move the nation ahead with progression of Malaysian unity, economic growth and stability.

This will not happen with the umno leadership, not in another half century, by then the country will be in total state of oblivion.

  2. I cannot imagine what will happen to Malaysia if it falls into the hands of people like Khairy and co. They know nothing about the difficulties faced by ordinary folks. It’s a pity to see Khairy abusing his intelligence and blowing a chance to set things right. I guess, if one likes to keep company with people who move exclusively in the upper circles, that person has no right to call himself/herself a leader of the people.

  3. Only hot air comes out from his mouth (difficult to distinguish whether it is coming out of the other orifice), no maturity. He has a long way to go.

  4. Instead of asking DSAI about the source of his ‘war chest” why doesn’t Krairy tell us of the sources of the BN war chest. I understand that a large part of the war chest was ‘detained’ in Chep Lap Kok Airport in Hong Kong. What about other sources?
KJ, a young upstart and gutter snipe has wormed his way up to his “elevated position licking his way into the house of Bodowi. Obviously he feels that his ‘position’ by proostituting his way into the sleeping PM’s daughters bed gives him the right to speak this way. He should realise that it is only the speepy head that has been blinded – can’t expect him to see anything with his eyes closed all the time, all this time. DSAI should ensure that a newly reorganized ACA will be given a free rein to insvetigate the “royal’ son-in-law as soon as PR assumes control of the government.
By the way, KJ, be assured that even if PR does not succeed in forming the govet, there are sufficient members of the BN who are waiting with drwn kerises to remove you from the scene as soon as AAB nods off to ‘ex-PM’ status.

  5. “If you go to other places in the region, the Chinese had to change their names and couldn’t go to Chinese schools. But here, we let everyone practice their culture.” Najib

Couldn’t go to Chinese schools? There are Chinese schools in Thailand and Indonesia and in fact wherever you go – certainly in the U.S. where such schools are unpopular because the Chinese prefer to assimilate and take advantage of the best education their educational institutions have to offer. Chinese schools in the U.S. are privately funded. In Indonesia, Indonesian Chinese prefer to send their children to Catholic schools because they are Catholics. Some Indonesian Chinese still maintain their ethnic names by choice. The Chinese could not disown their racial identity as much as they could not disown their parents or grandparents.

What Najib failed to say is that the Chinese in Malaysia are no longer an immigrant community as it used to be in the 50s. They are today a third and fourth generation Malaysian born Chinese. What he failed to point out is that as a democracy, racial minorities must be left to decide for themselves, what is best for their own community and on issues like education, religion, customs and tradition. Anything less is oppression of the minorities.

What are the Malays afraid of? Are they afraid they might lose their cultural and religious identity in a country in which they comprise some 60% of the total population? I don’t think so. Politicians like Najib have found it politically convenient to ensure that the fear of the ‘immigrant communities’ living amongst their midst stays in the minds of Malays even after some five decades of independence. Politicians like Najib wants to see the races remain compartmentalized, living together but apart.

How else could UMNO remain relevant? It is UMNO’s rai•son d’être.

  6. Sigh, that KhanJi beruk SIaL, fella ranting away.
Yes, Sdr Din, this fella is truly clueless to what’s going on at ground level.
Perhaps, that fine Oxfordian brain was further refined by UiTM into porridge-mush.
Mind you sir, the L4 guys are doing their level ‘best’ to subvert DSAI. Nefarious schemes aplenty – only problem for them though, is discerning themselves as ‘the’ problem/nuisance…
    Take care, Sdr.

  7. One tale from the Arabian Nights –

There was a small boy called Abu Nawas. His brother dug a pit to harm him, but later fell into the entrapment.

Abu Nawas said, ” He who digs a pit for his brother will himself fall ino it.”

The small boy Abu Nawas later became the Grand Vizier of Baghdad.

To rephrase that primate rant, with the word ‘bury’, DS Anwar Ibrahim is more likely to bury umno arrogance in history.

I was amused. I looked closer, primate is quite befitting.

  9. Fulamak. KJ forgot to mention if you vote for BN you might be able to get C4 and use it on innocent mongolian women. You can also look forward to steal syabu from the police locker or issue Malaysian passports to criminal aliens. Whats even better is that you can use the RMAF airplanes to fly to any airport any time of the day.
A vote for BN is a vote for more bridges and fly overs that are about to collapss. Those are all the reasons why you want to vote for BN.

  10. What a little stupid monkey we have here! A great shame to our country that such an uncouth, greedy little monkey can have so much power over our stupid Bodowi. If monkeys like SIL and Najis really come into power, then all hope is lost. I will send my children overseas – this country is will degenerate into chaos and disorder.

  11. Waht do you expect from Malaysia’s most obscene character? Never have I seen a more despicable character in my life than this boy. Never! To comment on his pathetic life befert of ideas and ideology is to demean myself. So, that’s all for now Abang Din.

  12. Of all the unsavoury characters the shameless type is the worst. Khairy is this type personified. No doubt he’ll wear it like a badge of honour. He is shameless, remember?

Being shameless they do not understand or realise that every other Malaysian and more outside the country are criticising them, laughing at them for their stupidity, dishonesty, disgusting behaviour and deeds. Fortunately or unfortunately he is not the only shameless guy in the UMNO stable.

    Here are the others:
    1) Bodohwi (Anwar’s DNA is too old. What? Sudah basi kah? LOL.)
    2) Rise Jatim (We have Rule of Law. I think he means Rulr by Law)
    3) Said Hameed (Please read his comical attempt at defining religion. LOL)
    4) Dung Mortar (He is using sign language in Parliament now)
    5) Najiz (Commission Agent for arms dealers)
    6) Kerismudin (telling the people how high standard local education is, but send his own children overseas)

To add insult to injury this group wants to teach, no, pontificate to the good and righteous among us.

What has become of this country? Lets send them into retirement.

  13. In the video KJ accepts, I had thought otherwise, PP is crucial for Malaysia. thanks KJ! 😀

I like his half grown beard and his tensely gestured hands and fingers clawing …or more like milking! Who? The Rakyat? Or a rakyat?

An faintly ungainly attempt at soliloquy? He should have slept a week in PiPi and learn its local humor. It would have been worth our money and perhaps a vote or two! 😀

Ain’t it our money he’s spending? Against us, some more!

  14. Mr najib…how many more times or years do we need to give you a chance? 50 years…sudah lahhh….give others the chance to prove themselves.
KJ…you will be buried by your own words, comes 26Aug. I bet to the single cents that I have in my pocket that you will eat your own words! Action saja lebih!

  15. KJ…don’t be too arrogant! One day this very word will bring you down just like so many other arrogant BN leaders…I don’t know whether in KJ’s religion being arrogant is allowed? We don’t need arrogant leaders…gone were the days where ‘loudspeaker’ is greater then action.

  16. “An faintly ungainly attempt at soliloquy? He should have slept a week in PiPi and learn its local humor.” Salak

We should just cut off his pipi and throw it to the dogs!:)

  17. i just read in Malaysiakini that the Iman that performed the swearing of Saiful said that he was not an instruction by UMNO. Can we challenge this
Iman to swear by the Quran that what he said is true. This may be fair to test the Iman. I will suggest someone in Malaysia to force this Iman to
come up and swear since he is part of the plot. otherwise UMNO will go on this silly non islamic issue.

  18. Some commentators observed KJ has been unusually quiet ,must be up to some mischief.Looks like He had been burying himself in Shakespearean literature to come out with this famous speech by Mark Anthony.

KJ aren’t you being a ‘traitor’ to the Malay race by quoting a Roman General? Why not quote from some Malay Annals.

We know you have the might and machinery to bury Anwar or anyone else for the matter because you are first son-in-law of Bolehland.
Don’t forget shakespeare also said the evil that men do lives after them.

  19. najis still preferred by najis worm.what the hell he’s talking about that chinese r lucky living in Malaysia bcos the goverment still providing & supporting chinese schools.why najis is so scare of chinese .but in fact he even scare of indonesian that’s why he & BN allows illegal indonesians to b malaysian.one thing this najis dont c is that one day the malay will b wiped out completely together with its budaya & adat & of course the ketuanan melayu as well.more illegal immigrant indonesian becoming malaysian means more malay girl being f by this illegal immigrants & produce more less malays in this country.that’s what the BN wants to c it happen.i urge the malay to wake up now & tell najis & BN to stop this unnecessary nonsense.permatang pauh voters go for PAKATAN

  20. ahjajal,

don’t u know that this iman was an illegal immigrants indonesian who just got he’s blue i/c.if u force this iman the most he can do is go back to indonesia ma.how to catch him.

  21. my dear anakdesa,

tak payah risau dan jangan marah KJ terlalu banyak.biar dia cakap lagi banyak lagi bagui.ini macam DSAI baru boleh menang banyak.dia ini ingat dia pandai ,tapi sebenarnya KJ takut dan bila seseorang itu takut dia akan cakap tak betul.sebab itulah saya cakap jangan marah KJ.kita semua diam-diam.

  22. this little rembau fella doesn’t even know what is playing up in the mind of old-timers in UMNO …..

we dun nid to dirty our hands …. UMNO can do it better than us when it cums to burying people …..

remember how they treated Tengku, Hussien ….and many others

    cheers

  23. I wonder how and where KJ will put his face to reconcile with the inevitable and eventual win by Anwar; unless he is as reckless as the kera and as thick skinned as the kerbau.

  24. I’m surprised to read that najib also swore in the masjid but said it was not official la…

I wonder what is going on in his mind.
Do we need an official application forms to fill in before swearing to make it official???? Otherwise the swearing does count???
Or is it hadhari islam does this??

    Din, enlighten me on this!!!!

  25. This (erection) is about Najib, AAB, Anuar, Mahathir, Khairy and few others in power.
Mahathir is mad with Anuar ‘cos he(Anuar) did not want to help his(mahathir) sibblings from the finanicial crisis then. So he is not going to forgive Anuar for that. (stabbed in the back)
AAb, If he losed out he will see easy fortunes dripping away from his fingers-nangis la,
Najib, Will have to fight hard to keep out of sg. buloh.
Khairy, The throne will out of his reach and becomes the king’s stable boy.
The other people in power will be busy for the rest of their lives travelling in and out of the court.
Ezam, A waterboy in need of a better job.
Anuar, To change the system a dish of sweet vengence.
And the rakyat, It’s the same old f**king days- Janis Joplin.

Ex-MB Perak also mimic swore today like najib, of course la he said its not official. since when do muslims need to swear in the name allah to be official or not??

Perhaps others,Toyo, Taib, Jusoh, Muhyiddin, Rafidah, can also swear. Tak apa buat saja lah, nanti UMNO bolih menang d PP. So collective problems solved can sleep well and relax.

My vote, the ppl of PP is will vote for BN.

    ……OUT..Outttttt

  26. No comment on Khairy. I just wish he could have lick his own saliva because of his arrogant saying.. Khairy is just too good to be true, thank God he is not a potential PM candidate. I want to bury him ..
