Listen Up, Malaysians : End Our Culture of Impunity
by Ali Kadir@http://www.themalaysianinsider.com
I don’t know about you but I am disgusted with UMNO and its sycophants, MCA and Gerakan, and I believe that we have to reject them wholesale for:
1) The culture of idiocy they nurture. There is a difference between Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Rakyat.
Whenever Lim Guan Eng or Khalid Ibrahim is accused of wrongdoing, they don’t hide. They come out with proof, sue to clear their names and even engage international audit firms. In contrast, till today no one knows how Altantuya Shaariibuu’s immigration records were erased or why the RM250 million sweet deal was given to Shahrizat Abdul Jalil’s family or how Cabinet Ministers are able to live a life of luxury on RM18,000 a month.
Till today, there has been no rebuttal of the fact that millions of ringgit were paid in kickbacks to the highest offices in Putrajaya from a submarine deal.
2) The dumbing down of Malaysia. UMNO newsletter, The New Straits Times, reported that local NGOs had received RM20 million to destabilise the government. These journalists must be as dense as their political masters.
And now we have Gerakan politicians going after possibly the cleanest politician in Penang. See, this is the new strategy of the desperate: if you feel threatened by any individual or organisation just keep on flinging mud at them and hope that some of it sticks.
What Teng Chang Yeow and gang must understand is this: people are aware of the hypocrisy. For nearly two decades, Koh Tsu Koon and Gerakan did nothing and played dead when the state was being ravaged by UMNO thieves.
And now when they are out of power and irrelevant, they are suddenly talking about corruption, etc.
3) The culture of violence. Roughhouse tactics are being used by UMNO and their associates to intimidate undergraduates contesting campus elections aligned to the Opposition. There is no longer any sense of decency. They just want to remain in power and want to silence any dissent.
We have a choice: we either put up with them and shut up OR we kick them out.

Put up, shut up or kick them out? Or clean up.
I have made up my mind Ali Kadir… so has my entire family. In fact we made up our mind prior to GE12 in 2008 but sadly the political tsunami wasn’t strong enough to wipe out the present Princes of Putrajaya. And I am glad you have also come to a decision that all Malaysians must now take a bold step and go for the change.
One of my friends just got robbed on Sunday in broad daylight at USJ18 Shell Station car wash… he was sitting around reading news on his iPad with his young son waiting for his Avanza to be washed and suddenly 4 bikes with 8 parang-wilding Mat Rempits robbed him of his mobile, his iPad, his gold chain and his watch, the Bangladeshi’s days takings and they even took the Nintendo game set belonging to my friend’s 7-year old son! That made me furious. The stabbing of the UMNO Youth head of Kepong on his way home made me furious, the groom who got slashed on his wedding night made me furious too.
But no, they want check on Lim Guan Eng’s tenancy agreement, they don’t want to know why there are white ants at Seri Teratai, the official CM residence….
They want to know who loaned the Falcon 7X to Anwar, they don’t want to know why most weekends, someone balik kampong to Bagan Datoh using a brand new Aerospatiale chopper belonging to the air force…
They want to know if the small scar on Lim Guan Eng’s face was scratched by his wife Betty Chew but they don’t want to know who really killed Altantuya Shaariibu.
They want to know why Ustaz Azizan as MB bought a Mercedes Benz S350 as an official car but they never asked about the Rolls Royce in Kuching or the Cessna Citation X private jet in Kuching Airport. Or the Bentley or Airbus A320 in Kota Kinabalu.
They want to know who paid for Nurul Izzah’s tuition fees at Raffles Junior College in Singapore where she did her A-levels or at Georgetown University when she dis her postgraduate degree but they never want to know who paid for the private lavish wedding dinner of daughter of one of the princes of Putrajaya!
Yes, you are right, we need to wipe them out once and for all. Make sure this time the tsunami comes in real force big enough to fill up the over-capacity Simpang Renggam and Sungai Buloh and Kajang Prisons. If need be, build a few more prisons… on a hillock along NS highway where everyone can see and be reminded that the primary responsibility is towards the kampung folks irrespective of race, to alleviate their tough livelihood and where everyone gets to complete at least 11 years of formal education (as envisioned by one great Kedahan named Tunku Abdul Rahman al-Haj RIP)
It does not matter WHO comes into power. The government of the day are there to ensure they deliver what they promised the people . They are there to come up with policies for the country , to navigate the nations challenges and how we face those challenges especially in time of hardship, to meet the people’s needs. If that is not met, they are voted out.
If there is corruption along the way , then they are to be made fully accountable for their actions .
Assallammuallaikum, I am in total agreement with Mr. Ali Kadir. However; a large percentage of malays still liked to be fooled by theories that Malaysia will be a republic if PR wins. Can anybody enlighten me is there anywhere in the Quran that says that we have to maintain our Westminster type of government? All I know is there is a need to have the Caliphate rule. Alhamdulillah I am only partial Malay – max 25% (maybe the reason for my ability to think for myself). Malays love to tunduk and be perhambakan.
As I always say there will not be any change if the majority of 60% of the population does not wan it. It is pure arithmetic says Bill Clinton. Hence there is this fight for the hearts and minds of this 60%. Today the political oppostion has got their hands on the kidney, liver and pancreas but not their stomach and heart.
As for UMNO, it could be likened to a French made Puma helicopter flown by Najib with his joystick in Rosmah’s hands. It is a matter of time before it crashes.
