Zalim namanya.–Din Merican

Assallammualaikum, why are we so excited about the religious officers claiming allowances to see the moon? After all, everybody else is misusing the government’s money, can’t the religious officers have a go too? Hidup UMNO … until PRU 13 cukup la

Hamid al-Haj,
Doa untuk saya dan negara kita. Semoga semuanya selamat di negara kita.–Salam, Din
To Dato Din, Datin Kamsiah and all my fellow Muslim readers/commenters and fellow Muslim sparring partners, from far and near, HARI RAYA AIDIL FITRI. MAAF ZAHIR DAN BATIN.
A joyous occasion to bring all mankind together to celebrate the greatness of humanity. And lets keep politics out for the next two days.
Stay safe on the road when traveling visiting friends and family and returning home.
Selamat Eidul Fitri Maaf Lahir dan Bathin – versi Indonesia lah ni… Stayed up whole bight watching the “perang meriam bambu” (meriam buluh) here in Banjarmasin… wow, these Indonesians really can make good explosives alright… they can even rattle your hotel window panes 8 storey high… kopi luwak and emping for a start then will attack the lemang with rendang daging sapi….
Envy you Greenbug, I always enjoy Eidul Fitri in Indonesia, save the balek kampung traffic jam. Yes the Indonesians do know how to celebrate. Like your earlier posting of a church wishing the Muslims Ramadhan mubarak. Can’t and won’t happen in Malaysia.
I say Dato that video is late in coming !! Also you’re not doing justice to your better half by allowing her only to say three words ! Still that love she has for you is allowed to shine through in those brief moments. What more am I allowed to say?
Rejoice. Be grateful to all that God has given you.
Pak Semper and all who came before me have yet to see this latest video clip of marital bliss. It is not fair to your readers and fans to slot in such a video after the fact.
Dato, I’m sorry but I will have to ask you to step aside.
Bean,
Raya pun hang dok gila bayang. Apa ke hai ni? Nanti aku kirim ketupat dan buah ulu kat hang.
Nice video message Dato and Datin. Gives it s personal feel , not just some quiet dimension called ‘blog”. Lovely blue too. Datin has good taste, then again it may have been Dato’s taste.
____________
Both Dr. Kamsiah and I like this blue. She made the decision to wear that colour for this Hari Raya.–Din Merican
Tok Cik,
Hang tak boleh tengok aku senang noh. Tak pa. Aku tunggu ketupat hang.
Mana ada ketupat lagi, sekarang semuanya instant nasi impit, pop a plastic bag of Nona into the boiling pot of water and after an hour walla ketupat.
Lagi pun pokok nyiok semuanya dah gondol, susah nak dapat pucuk daun kelapa and not many can anyam ketupat. Ketupat is fast fading into history.
Orang Malaya, I was never a ketupat person. I can’t even remember what comes with the ketupat. But lemang and rendang yes!
and Kathy, it is not quite blue but turquoise.
Albany Bean, you should try ketupat pulut or ketupat palas, better than lemang. Lemang is only nice if you get the top part where the coconut santan floats.
Anyway nowadays even lemang has become instant, no need to find buloh lemang, aluminium foil does the trick. Cook the pulut and then roll it up in aluminium foil and scorch it over an open flame to imitate the burn marks and crust.

Orang Malaya, you can open a good Malay restaurant in LA and people will patronize it, especially you serve ketupat and lemang with beef rendang ala Kedah.–Din Merican
Yes Mr Bean lovely sea blue, turquoise you are right. Datin has wonderful taste. You both Look good and it was nice to hear both of you .!
That’s right orang malaya. Just had a few all wrapped up in aluminium foil. Another dish I miss is otak-otak.
No wonder not much otak left in BN. Anyway after a certain age the otak don’t grow new cells anymore. Have to do with what’s left.
Can’t make good otak otak over here. Lack of certain ingredients especially daun kadok. Don’t taste same without it. You can always go to Indonesian or Vietnamese or Cambodian restaurant. They do make something similar.
