Professionalism in Public Service Lost
by Stephen Ng (07-23-12)@http://www.freemalaysiatoday.com
Bukit Aman Social Extremist Division Chief Assistant Director E2 (M) Mohd Sofian Md Makinuddin has brought disgrace to the force that he is supposed to represent. As a Special Branch senior officer, it is not his job to talk to the press what he thinks he knows, especially when he should be apolitical.
He has definitely raised an ire by saying that there are Jemaah Islamiah (JI) terrorists and individuals linked to the communist movement who try to penetrate the opposition parties and become candidates for the coming general election.
He reminds me of Hanif Omar, a former IGP, who said that BERSIH 3.0 rally
which was held on April 28 was a coup d’etat. When I told this to my friends from overseas, they laughed and the first thing they asked, “Is he senile? What kind of person do you have as an IGP? How did he, a Muslim senior police officer, become the chairman of a business that is not known to be halal?”
I remember previously the former Chief Commissioner of MACC also said the same thing about Khalid Ismail who donated 40 heads of cows to his Bandar Tun Razak constituency. Ahmad Said Hamdan was adamant that he had evidence to prosecute Khalid, at a point when the Attorney-General had not even announced a decision.
The nation can recall what was said by the present MACC Chief, Abu Kassim Mohamed, who pledged to resign if any graft reports were not investigated by his agency, including high profile cases involving government ministers.
We have heard and read about the allegations that the present Prime Minister himself, Najib Tun Razak was involved in the Scorpene scandal. Has any investigation started? If not, why hasn’t Abu Kassim honoured his own words?
In the minds of my overseas friends, it is obvious that many of our senior officers lack the credibility to lead the departments.Since Sofian is so specific about his allegations, he should provide the list to both PAS and DAP leadership instead of trying to smear the good names of these two political parties. Give them a chance to investigate their own members. After all, it is never the role of the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) Special Intelligence Branch to be drawn into a political squabble.
The allegations that Sofian has made are just as wild allegations as that the
same group of people have already penetrated into the ruling parties. After all, if they are trying to penetrate the Opposition parties now, they would have done so with the BN parties or what made you think that they have not?
For him to link the alleged visits by certain party members to southern Thailand to meet former Malayan Communist Party (PKM) leaders is also another moronic accusation. What he has failed to realise is that China is ruled by the Communist Party.
Whereas Sofian is talking about former communist party members, he should train his men to investigate on the numerous visits by our ministers and trade relations people to the heart of Communism in China.
Malaysians are generally more well-informed these days. We have woken up to the fact that this country is destroyed by the irresponsible statements made by our politicians and their kunchus. The vast cronyism and nepotism that existed during former Prime Minister Dr Mahathir’s 22 years of rule, can no longer be allowed in this country.
Everything that Sofian has said simply makes no sense to the ordinary Malaysian folk. If he is wise, he should retract his own statements or otherwise being seen as moronic, or even idiotic, at large. After all, being professionals and neutral, it is never the business of the PDRM to be involved in the politics of this country.
The Police’s ultimate allegiance is to the King and the Country, not to the politicians whom he can gain favours from.
Makinuddin fella could be the next IGP. Poor Khalid Bakar, he has outdone you in terms of stupidity and sycophancy. Unbelievable that Maki can dream of this to please his political masters. This is auta. Malaysia Boleh.
” …. it is obvious that many of our senior officers lack the credibility to lead the departments “. – Stephen Ng
Yes.. Maki is one and so is our Chief Secretary Ali Hamzah. Just imagine working under these kind of characters !
The desk constable will be penalized for handing over the wrong script..
Professionalism, what professionalism? its all Political- ism.( To get ahead and noticed by their political masters).
By now we should be able to conclude that our PDRM has only 10% proffesionalism and 90% gangsterism.
I remember there was a Misinformation Minister a few years back. Don’t tell me now you have a Stay-at- Home Minister? Harakah labelled him from ‘Tak Tahu to Serba Tak Tahu.’
He will be elected chairman of Magmun 4d, by najib, when he op for early pension. All ball carrier to the corrupt goverment will be given top post in the HARAM business by the HARAM JADAH goverment.
The old adage is: “When all else fails, clutch at straws”.
In this case, these UMNO flunkies were clutching onto friable dung. Apparently, smearing dung on the face is as effective as Tempe quaffing and Botox renderings.
Even the assistant of an assistant have numbers designated – and they sound like R2D2, the robot, but only much more menacing. That’s why they are promoted much faster than the ole mattress carriers. Ball carrying and coddling to the extreme. It doesn’t need any functioning neurons.
The title is misleading as it only highlight PDRM and MACC, How about all the other public service government departments. I’m sure there’s a lot of dung on them too. Ministry of Agriculture and Lembugate, Ministry of Defence non diving Scorpene subs, Ministry of Transport MAS and PKFZ, Department of Civil Aviation the faulty ATC, Ministry of Education – the PTPTN threat on Unisel students, MARA – withdrawing a scholarship to an Arab/Malay from PKR and many many more. This will be longer the the 1001 Arabian Nights and more exciting than the Kama Sutra, Bean favorite guidebook.
Prometheus is right . How can there be professionalism when you have such unprofessional individuals sitting in such high places waiting for their next promotions so that they can utter some more garbage .
Does anyone think any one of them can offer the right mentoring to their subordinates? Definitely not , right ! Do you think the subordinates with principles will enjoy going to work ? A Definite not, right !
All that is left is a TON of SHIT-HEADS running this Govt Service!
Mentoring subordinates? Haha.., if only that were possible!
The days of the old ‘impartial’ civil service are fast approaching the end. Meritocracy is likened to a hallucination and a bad ‘trip’. Nowadays, we have semi-literate, semi-educable, mafiosi carma types – whose main preoccupation seems to be the epitome of entitlement, self indulgence/interest and ‘main guli-guli’.
If you peruse the ‘cold-storage bin’ of the civil service, you’d find barely functional cretins, slobbering over uneaten nuts. Most of the ‘jantan’ there, were caught dipping into supposedly off-limits ‘tails’; while others were caught with their paws in other people’s pockets. Who says that: “There is no such thing as a free lunch”?
_______________
Free Lunch? Yeah uniquely Malaysian civil service. You can get promoted by playing politics and ampuing your bosses. Take the case of Sidek Hassan. This man in charge of Najib’s blue ocean civil service was recently given a cushy job at Petronas. Or take the case of Dr. Hamsa Ali who is a civil service kaki of Noh Mohamad was made the KSN. “Rotten” is the word best describes the state of our civil service.–Din Merican
Remember the name Mohd Sofian Mohd Makinuddin! He will be the IGP soon if Najib returns to power and Lamb Chop remains Home Minister… be afraid, be very afraid!
This Sofean fella has a bone to pick with Ambiga and her Bersih protesters. I have met him a few times before and each time he’ll allude to his favourite subject, Bersih.
Since Bersih 2.0 he has been saying the same thing – that Ambiga’s protesters are being influenced by communism and that communist agents have infiltrated the organisation. And, of course, JI has done the same to PAS.
He theorised that the Opposition wanna turn the country into a socialist state should they take over Putrajaya. When I asked him how, he could not answer. I asked him to differentiate between communism and socialism. Again he gave me a blank stare. Obviously, he doesn’t know the difference between the two. How could he be so sure about Bersih’s leaning, I wonder.
I don’t take him seriously knowing his propensity to “melatah”. Apparently, he just scrapped through the police college as a probationary inspector. That explains his reasoning.
This is SB officer has an IQ of a moron. How he made it to Bukit Aman is anyone’s guess. Apple polishing seems to be his number one hobby and forte, since he has nothing upstairs between his ears. There are plenty of them holding high posts in the Police and the Armed Forces. What a shame!
___________
The Maki fella is a disgrace to the Force, especially the Special Branch. On the basis of your comments, Maki is just a UMNO stooge. The Head of Special Branch should take note or is he himself another of the same kind. Let us hope they read the comments on this blog and do something about this public relations fiasco.–Din Merican
Well done Maki, surely PDRM is depriving a village somewhere of an idiot.
Maki is the Malaysian version of Michelle Bachmann.
__________
You mean Bachman the supporter of the Tea Party movement and a founder of the House Tea Party Caucus. If so, you have given Maki a compliment.–Din Merican
