Sofian Makinuddin: Just Stop Your Bull

Home Affairs Minister Hishammuddin Hussein today said the alleged infiltration of communist and Jemaah Islamiah ideologies into Pakatan Rakyat is not at a level that would threaten the country’s security.
“Right now, I am saying that the reports that have come to me, whatever penetration (in the Opposition) as far as ideology is concerned, it does not affect the security, safety and stability of our nation. So don’t make it more than that,” he told a press conference at the Dang Wangi district police headquarters this afternoon.
Earlier, Hishammuddin had attended a two-hour-long briefing by Police chiefs from Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya on bringing NGOs on board to combat crime.
Last Thursday, the Special Branch’s E2 (M) national social extremist threat division Assistant Director Mohd Sofian Md Makinuddin had claimed that the Opposition was being infiltrated by terrorists and were trying to be fielded as candidates in the next general election.
Asked whether the Police had any evidence on the claim, Hishammuddin replied: “If it concerns national security, it is not just evidence, action must be taken and it has to be transparent and open.
“But if it is just an observation concerning involvement that does not threaten national security at this stage, then I am not worried,” he said. However, Hishammuddin said that he would need to go into detail of what the Special Branch meant by the infiltration.
He added that any forms of infiltration be it on Pakatan’s side or in his own party, action would be taken only if it threatened national security.
‘Infiltration claim no prelude to crackdown’
Hishammuddin also denied DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang’s claim that the allegation was to set the stage for a crackdown against the Opposition.
“What the Special Branch said were merely facts and I would say if it does not affect national security then we do not see it as a threat, what political stage is there to set?
He also took a swipe at the veteran politician, saying that Lim was stuck in the old political landscape.
“What he said is not true… Some things existed in the previous political landscape but now it is different.Perhaps he is still in the old landscape during the time when he was young. I want to remind Lim that the world has changed,” he said.
Yesterday, several Pakatan leaders were up in arms over the allegation, challenging the Home Affairs Ministry to name the alleged communist and Jemaah Islamiah infiltrators in the coalition.
How ridiculous can we get. The Special Branch is now compromising its professionalism by coming up with this kind of crap. Scaremongering won’t work. So stop crying wolf.
All the Government needs to do is to stop being incompetent and corrupt. Right now confidence in the Najib Administration is at its nadir. Your revelation, Mr. Sofian, is not helping the Government’s credibility. Only your inept Minister will buy your story.–Din Merican

The Special Branch is called ‘special’ for a reason. They are allowed to do things the normal police are not allowed to do. They are allowed to get into your head. Sometimes turning over your head. Now they see things others do not. If that is not professionalism what is??

Like the Republican Guards in Iraq pre-Saddam, the Special Branch acts as the personal bodyguard of whoever is Prime Minister. In Malaysia’s case currently that would be Rosmah Mansor.

By admitting that Malaysia is infiltrated with communist and JI this Makinnudin has suddenly put Malaysia on the US watch. Malaysians will have a tougher time applying for a US visa and the Department of Homeland Security will heighten screening of Malaysian passport holders.
Secondly Communist is passe. It is no longer in fashion except in the minds of Hanif Omar and this Makinnudin. They should go and visit the most populated Communist nations and see for themselves how the Communist have developed their countries.
Maybe as Special Branch they should trail all Ministers who have visited China and Russia. Maybe they should suggest that Malaysian passports cannot be used to visit communist countries. Grow up Makinnudin (pronounced MAKI-nude-din), you A-hole.

The Special Branch’s hawking of the tired story of ‘communists’ and ‘JI terrorists’ is just a manufactured pretext for ultra-vires action, in case Umno gets so desperate that they are willing to try a repeat of Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s old dirty trick of Ops Lalang where he fabricated charges against his political opponents.
While the cops are busy fabricating imaginary bogeymen, they might as well ‘investigate’ the dangerous ideology of Justin Bieber-ism which has infiltrated Malaysian youth.It is rumoured that playing a Justin Bieber song can bring down an entire building. This should keep the Special Branch busy for the next 30 years or so.

Hans, I don’t argue with Mat Rempits. They are Malay society’s spoilt goods. I think the Police should be dealing with them in stead of wasting time on Opposition politicians who are talking about social justice, good governance and democracy. These are universal concepts beyond ideology.

It is strange each country has its own dangerous lots. Malaysia is concerned about JI and Communits. Do you know in Australia every migrant is asked to fill in Form 80. This form is used to character check on the potential migrant through a complex network of international agencies. The form has 60 intrusive questions on the background of the individual. One question that repeated through out the form is ” Are you of ARabic Descent ” (interalia Muslim).
Just as Malaysia has an aversion to JI and Communists ( Isnt Islam in its purest form has traits of communism inherently?) Australia and Western countries on the other hand has concern over people of Arabic ancestory (interalia Muslims). Each to its own taste . I wonder how many UMNOMelyaus elitists have Arabic ancestry?

Generally Malaysians by nature are non-violent and tolerant lot. They are eqaully naive where politics is concerned. Reading the blogs many are desperately waiting for GE 13 and with the conviction that the BN will be defeated at the Ballot box. This will be certainly the case if the election is held fair and clean. This isn not going to be the case. The Malaysians are going to be cheated of their legitimate outcome .
The UMNOMelayu elitists , the benficiaries to the national treasury or what is left of it, have bagfull of twisted tricks and frauds to ensure the continuity of their rule . They will be assisted by the prdominantly Malay civil servants and enforcement agencies whor part of the looting theives without conscience.
The opposition parties are by and large powerless and distracted with false charges, from Karpal to Anwar and Azmin . The odds are stacked against the opposition.
How naive can one be to think in this situation there will be a fair outcome. Over bodies and blood. Dream on.
