Merry Christmas from The Hon’ble Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dato’ Seri Najib Tun Razak
Prime Minister Najib Razak has called on Malaysians to spend this Christmas to understand fellow Malaysians better, and appreciate them for the diversity and strength they have contributed to the country.
Here is the text of his message (http://www.1malaysia.com.my/blog/merry-christmas-to-all-malaysian-christians/):
“What I like about this time of the year is that Christmas helps to remind people
to spread goodwill and cheer, just in time to usher in the New Year and make a fresh start. We could all use a little reminder every now and then.
I have always believed that as a nation of moderates, we must seize every opportunity to forge better understanding between Malaysians of different cultures and faith.
I underscored this belief when in July, I led the government delegates to pay a courtesy call to Pope Benedict XVI in his summer residence at Castel Gandolfo, and shared my vision of the Global Movement of the Moderates. From that working visit, Malaysia and the Holy See (Vatican City) have agreed to establish diplomatic relations, which I hope will lead to closer links and inter-faith dialogue between us.
Likewise, here at home, I am equally committed to further strengthen the interaction that has long existed with the Christian community. I have always made a special effort to meet with people of all faith. I look forward to continue this practice to seek your ideas and hear your thoughts for the betterment of our society.
In Malaysia, celebrations that are specific to cultural and religious communities have become increasingly accepted and celebrated by the larger Malaysian population, such as the gift-giving custom commonly practiced during Christmas. It is fascinating to observe how the nation’s multi-cultural as well as multi-religious practices blend into the society.
Do spend this Christmas to understand your fellow Malaysians better, and appreciate them for the diversity and strength they contribute to our beloved nation. Last but not least, I wish all Malaysians of Christian faith a Merry Christmas.”
“I am equally committed to further strengthen the interaction that has long existed with the Christian community. I have always made a special effort to meet with people of all faith. I look forward to continue this practice to seek your ideas and hear your thoughts for the betterment of our society.”-Najib Tun Razak.
Is that your 2012 New Year resolution? I wonder and Cry Geranimo.

When it comes to living up to your promises it has been all hot air from you, Mr Prime Minister. And so allow us to echo your promises on this Christmas Day.

“It is fascinating to observe how the nation’s multi-cultural as well as multi -religious practices blend into the society.” Jibby.
And it’s equally fascinating how lives and limbs and, lately, lembus are lost in the name of multi-culturalism. Dai tambi, here’s my message for you… ….pooraah.

Let’s not be naive. As president of his party and de facto Prime Minister, he doesn’t call the shots. It would be folly for him to ignore what appears as the base of his party. He is the weakest Prime Minister the country ever had – subject to blackmail and all.

I’d like to believe you Najib but I have a very difficult time even thinking what I’m hearing coming from you. You should practice what you preach. Curb the Perkasa and Perkida attack dogs, and nip the likes of Zul Nordin, Hasan Ali and that Mufti of Perak. Malaysians will live better and become more cohesive without these characters. One nation under God called Malaysia.

Consider Najib’s speech always as a first draft you are safe.

Our only fervent wish for the coming Year for Honourable PM could do something serious to breakdown the ” Wall ” and the artificial barricades constructed by Religious Bigots , so that we may be able collectively to Interact one with another of different different Faiths….without this fear of “Proselitysation ” laws that’s impeding our Intergration process !
Without which, all these sweet words of Love, Peace & Happiness are mere pretences that do not match the Words with Deeds. Otherwise Infantileism is breeding greater & greater Ignorance : Mainstream Orthodoxy & Politicians should ensure Inclusiveness….and not be bound in the Domain of Rigid Exclusivity AS IF one day in the future We will be ingrained like the Taliban who think they want to Insulate themselves from the Reality of Worldly Existense and barricade themselves from all ” Impurities ” !
They should ‘turn’ themselves into Angels and go and Live in another Dimension of pure Existence – call it what you may….
