Your Weekend Entertainment

Friends,

It is the weekend again. This week, as promised, Dr. Kamsiah and I will play some oldies from Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore. May it bring memories of those great times most of you had when your hearts were young and gay.

We start off with a popular Ismail Marzuki classic titled Aryati sung by Tantowi Yahaya who renders it country and western  style. Bob Tutopoly gives us two tunes, Rindu Lukisan and Widuri, followed De Lova and  Koes Plus with their top hit, Kapan Kapan.

Din decided to introduce to you Lilis Suryani, Hetty Koes Endang and Ernie Djohan. We thought this potpourri of songs for this weekend would not be complete if we did not play popular Malay tunes from the 1960s and 1970s; for that we are featuring A Halim, Singapore’s J. Mizan and the incomparable Datin Rafaeh Buang. We wish you all a good weekend.–Dr. Kamsiah and Din Merican
