Khairy Jamaluddin’s Gutter Politics

Gutter politics — The Malaysian Insider
There is no denying that UMNO Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin is a smart man. The Oxford graduate has made use of his education and upbringing to shine through the untalented masses that make up the bulk of his party.
Which is why it is a disappointment that the Rembau MP saw nothing wrong with his remarks about allegations involving Lim Guan Eng’s teenage son, and called his critics hypocrites for pointing out that he was perpetrating lies about a member of a political rival’s family.
Earlier today, Lim said he was furious with the “barbaric lies” made about his teenage son by “pro-UMNO ferocious beasts,” singling out Khairy and other ruling party leaders for perpetuating the allegations through snide comments on blogs and social media sites.
Is it fine to defend or perpetuate a lie? Or does Khairy know the alleged misconduct is a fact? If it is, won’t he ensure that justice is done?
After all, Khairy has been the subject of gossip and innuendo from within his party too. Has he forgotten what it is like to be the topic of the day, to be the subject of lies being spread like wildfire? Or is this all in the name of political expediency?
Scoring cheap shots and bringing down rivals
with nasty talk and unfounded facts. Is this what a gentleman does? Is this what intelligent people do? Is this what politicians of a certain pedigree resort to in order to bring down a rival or remain popular with the masses?
Is there nothing sacred anymore in the quest for popularity, position and power? Not just the UMNO Youth chief but the vast number of pro-UMNO bloggers who are out to keep their party popular by criticising or weaving tales about their opponents.
Perhaps gutter politics is the way to go. Perhaps we have to stop holding KJ or UMNO to any standard and no one will be disappointed or surprised by what they do.
What a pity. A young man like KJ is the symbol of Malaysia’s future. But what sort of future can it be with the easy acceptance rather than the rejection of such politics.
Don’t measure KJ by his education , probably he is an embarrassment to his alma mater. We should judge him by what he has accomplished with his ability – which is nothing to shout about. Just a son in law of a former PM or could have been SIL of Anwar, if tragedy didn’t strike Anwar! KJ is just an opportunist.
Intelligence is like a river: the deeper it is, the less noise it makes – he fails even on this basic principle in humanity. Remember the old adage: an empty vessel makes the most noise and that is KJ.
Democrat - October 18, 2011 at 9:26 pm
KJ, the famous SIL who used to rule the 4th Floor, Prime Minister’s Department when the sleepy Mr. Clean was in power is now an UMNO problem kid.
Remember, KJ was bypassed by Najib for a Cabinet position and there is now a danger that for the coming GE-13, he may not be Member of Parliament for Rembau. What else? Well, he might be replaced as UMNO Youth Chief some time in the future. With all these possibilities stacked against, he goes on a sort of rampage against the Opposition. The objective is to attract public attention. He desperately wants to be in the news in the hope being remembered by his boss. But surely this is not the way to attract the attention of, or please his boss. In stead, as a result of this snafu, he becomes an embarrassment to his boss and UMNO.
By failing to challenge the Opposition on issues, he attacks LGE by spreading untruth about the respected Penang CM’s son. That is gutter politics. I didn’t say it; it is the Malaysian Insider which used that term, and I happen to agree. I believe that gutter politics, now very prevalent, should be nipped in the bud. It does UMNO no good to encourage its politicians, grassroots leaders, and its agents, especially UMNO bloggers, to resort to it. Please show some class if you want to get the peoples’ support in GE-13.

The PM is right in not giving him a Minister’s post.

it is rare to have an oxford grad who is uncouth……
sir jacob - October 18, 2011 at 11:33 pm
This flur has dug a very deep hole for himself and for whatever aspirations he might have of being a leader of a dung-heap. It’s inconceivable that a public figure, can stoop so low.
His EQ is equivalent to a toad. Hypocrite? Yeah, that he is. A Slime-ball par excellence besides being a moron, irregardless of education. Such abhorrent behavior demonstrates that he’s basically irreverent to whatever cultural values he claims to have. Pro-UmNO bloggers aren’t exactly the brightest sparks in the Universe, yet he panders to them – Devolution at it’s best!
Sheer desperation does not entitle anyone to bully and spread nasty rumors of OTHER peoples kids. His excuse as responding to the Opposition’s opprobrium and personal attacks is so ridiculous, that it’s shows a depravity and warped logic reserved for anti-social personalities. But then he’s the best UmNO has, and has from this day forth become fixated on Sexual innuendos of the Worst kind. What a bunch of Losers..
C.L. Familiaris - October 18, 2011 at 11:57 pm
I dunno why everybody only talk about his Oxford education when they talk about this recalcitrant kid? Tony Pua is also an Oxford grad but he does not behave like this monyet (that was what he called opposition bloggers at one time).
Khairy is nothing if not for his marriage to Nori Abdullah and given the free hand to rule at Putrajaya as he wished. To me he is just an opportunist, jobless at that, and perhaps he should explain how the hell he can live the way he is living now and fly here and there in and own so many companies!
Greenbug - October 19, 2011 at 12:02 am
Khairy is no different than Ibrahim Ali other than he packaged himself as a “modernist” and an “intellect”. Podah!
didi - October 19, 2011 at 1:37 am
Gosh,
Didn’t one revered person said about having qualified people entering public service? Don’t you think it’s time to introduce examination to examine if these so called wakil rakyat really qualified to be wakil rakyat
I rest my case

Bloody disgrace to the alumni of Oxford.
The present King of Bhutan is an alumnus of Oxford.
One is a toilet-circling fly from Malaysia while the other is a honey making bee from Bhutan.
There is a nice Malay word for a young man like KJ: Kurang Ajar
Frank - October 19, 2011 at 2:57 am
Kurang ajar couldn’t even describe KJ, Frank. What’s worse than kurang ajar?
didi - October 19, 2011 at 3:06 am
KJ is kurang ajar because he takes after his late Dad who as Ambassador was disliked by his staff. Secondly he grew up in luxury and never had to work to earn his keep. He’s out of touch with reality and sneaked in as MP under the sarong of his father in law. He’s all show no substance. He always like to be the center of attention whether at a demonstration or at a political campaign. He cost BN their loss in Perak because he changed the list of BN candidates against the wishes of the BN state liaison.
He needs to create attention as he sees being dropped for the next GE. As head of UMNO Youth he’s not even a Dy. Minister. Maybe Najib made a good decision there. Imagine had KJ been made a Minister, how would he carry himself as a Minister?

When a political party has lost its idealism or original vision,
it becomes riddled with sycophants and opportunists.
Examples: UMNO (from moderate Malay nationalism to outright
kleptocracy), the Communist Party of China (from Maoism
to …. ?)

If that is true Phua Kai Lit….its not surprising. you remember one of the Trios did that to the father when he was CM of M’cca…and the latter got into real trouble…..Why, the trio even lately had already ” begun ” to fabricate in preparation for a third ” sodomy” drama….in prepation, that is….in case….
poser : in case what….?
Abnizar - October 19, 2011 at 4:51 pm
When this subject was first raised in a blog no names were mentioned but reference was made to the son of a VVIP in Penang. Did the Chief Minister of Penang respond to that blog or was there direct reference made to him by other blogs?
Anonymous - October 19, 2011 at 5:14 pm
It has now been revealed that the story about LGE’s son is a false.
So, the Oxford graduate called Khairy is a low-down scumbag after all.
Maybe ALL Oxford graduates are scumbags like Khairy. They like to prey on children and teenagers.
No? Well, then you Oxford graduates out there should do something about this worm among you. Get your alma mater to do something about this.
Sebab nila setitik, habis susu sebelanga!
I’m happy to start a global online initiative to call Oxford graduates around the world scumbags unless they do something about Khairy.

KJ…Kj,
The Best of a Bad Lot…and…still come out Short!
In Oxford they called it being Ox-Fcuk!!
cheers!

Ha Ha Ha! The alleged victim of the raba-raba has been traced as a Chess Grandmaster representing HK and Britain and now a 21-year old undergrad at Wellesley College in the US! Not a Malaysian and not even been to Penang. Oi papagomo, macamana anak si Guan Eng tu boleh raba raba orang yang duduk dibenua lain?
Dato Din, count ourselves lucky those UMNO bloggers are actually not a smart lot. Coz if they are…

Greenbug,
They are smart spinners and we should not underestimate their talent and lateral thinking. They have the ability to reach the common man. This is something I cannot do. They can connect and touch the hearts of rural voters. That is what counts, not rational discourse which I try to promote on this blog.–Din Merican
Greenbug - October 19, 2011 at 8:02 pm
Will this opprtunist recalcitrant Khairy Jamaluddin ever bring himself to fly to Penang and say sorry to Guan Eng’s teenage son? Pls do Khairy, I promise you UMNO Youth led by Ezam Enam Kotak will not blockade Penang Bridge for a 15-km long 6-hour traffic jam!
Greenbug - October 19, 2011 at 8:05 pm
what did he learn from oxford? get tainted with dirt from corrupt money from the sarawak forest? when an institution like oxford associates with corrupts, its the beginnnng of spiral down to dirt.
mmc - October 20, 2011 at 12:29 am
Papagomo is a scum of the earth. Can’t believe KJ would want to be on par with him.
“They are smart spinners and we should not underestimate their talent and lateral thinking. They have the ability to reach the common man. This is something I cannot do. They can connect and touch the hearts of rural voters.” – Dato’ Din
Sad isn’t it? They seem to have the same talent as the people in Fox News. Maybe research should be made about how their brains work.
didi - October 20, 2011 at 1:38 am
didi, they don’t have a functioning prefrontal cortex. They may have a disorder in the amgdala-limbic system. In neuro-psychiatry they are akin to the K-B syndrome. See here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kl%C3%BCver-Bucy_syndrome
Do you think that it’s genetic?
C.L. Familiaris - October 20, 2011 at 2:13 am
They are smart for all the wrong reasons. Go to Oxford to become a clown, to stoop to the lowest in politics and to associate with people like papagomo. Even the name papagomo sounds DOM. KJ has reached rock bottom and none of his education at Oxford has been used to project the social justice and betterment of Malaysia in spite of being an MP. Instead he wasted his brains on gutter politics. Wasted education, he should have just attended MU and his place at Oxford be given to a more deserving student.

A person’s attitude is not reflected by one’s educational background.-R Ali
True, but one’s education is supposed to REFINE one’s overall outlook in life and to have an education to end up like a coarse and irritable brat, which KJ has shown to have achieved for himself coming out of Oxford.
Frank - October 20, 2011 at 5:21 pm
… and which leads to say in the same breath that going by the current attitude of the pariah UMNO Malays, the education these people in UMNO have have made NOT a better of them, but the worse of them. Being a muslim, did not help either.
Frank - October 20, 2011 at 5:24 pm
Lucky the sleepy head of a FIL didn’t last too long at the post or else this kampung walla will be running the show for him. You can take a boy out of the kampung but you can’t take the kampung out of a boy. KJ just can’t seem to be able to shake off the nasty and uncouth habits of some country bumpkins despite having been to Oxford. Obvious Oxon values couldn’t penetrate the thick skull of a bigot.
TG - October 21, 2011 at 10:38 pm
way to go with an ignorant comment Frank, how is “being Muslim” related to whatever you just mentioned? I know aplenty of Malay Muslims who aren’t like the UMNO dimwits and are very well educated and astute.
