Youth members of KITA are initiating a move to topple Party President Datuk Zaid Ibrahim. Central executive committee member Mohd Zahrein Zakariah said the young should take the lead to remove authoritarian leaders like Zaid.
“We are calling for an extraordinary general meeting for Zaid to step down as we have lost confidence in his leadership.I feel compelled to strongly oppose Zaid’s recent unilateral action to sack certain office bearers,” he said.
There has been growing discontent among leaders and grassroots in KITA over the controversial removal of Party Central Secretary Abdul Latif Thambi, Treasurer Rashid Azad Khan and the suspension of central executive member Muhammad Firdaus Christopher.
Zahrein said Zaid was the one who should be sacked for going against the party constitution.Federal Territory Kita co-ordinator Dr Rajaratnam Gopal Pillai said the internal grievances must be addressed to check the possible collapse of the party.
“The party could implode from within if the leadership continues to disregard the views of key
and central committee members,” he said.
In an open letter to Zaid, Dr Rajaratnam said developments over the past month had cast a dark shadow over the party’s future.
Other party leaders who had voiced their dissatisfaction include Penang KITA chief and Nibong Tebal MP Tan Tee Beng, Negri Sembilan chief R. Sri Sanjeevan, Malacca chief Kol (R) Hashim Putih, and Malacca secretary Yayah Deris.
Tan said Zaid had always been critical of the leadership style of PKR de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. “But now he (Zaid) is no different from Anwar.”
Kol Hashim said it was only proper to issue show cause letters first so the affected members could explain why action should not be taken against them.Yayah said disciplinary action should not be based on personal interest.
Sanjeevan said internal conflict would erode public confidence in the fledgling party. “We are still a mosquito party, we cannot afford such conflict,” he said.
Acting central secretary Masrum Dayat claimed that Zahrein was not a central executive council member. Masrum also added that the central executive meeting could only be called if the central executive committee decide to call for it, or if 51% of the party’s 3,000 registered members provide a written request.
Saya diberitahu TIDAK ADA.
This is my party, you do the way I ask you to do”.
Zaid, like I said before can only work alone, he cannot work with other people. Just look at what happened to him in UMNO and later PKR.

All the good vintage must have dulled ZAID’s senses. He should empty all the remaining bottles in his pool and try drowning in it. Fade away KITA as you can only be a spoiler at the next GE !!

Could he just be an umno turncoat, sent out to destroy all other parties opposing bn. From the way he flip frog from the original to PR, then KITA, make me wonder what is his intention.

Zaid is becoming a regular Party Hopper.
he is too uptight to be a team worker. he’ll never be able to contribute anything worthwhile to malaysia.
please go back to umno/bn (if they accept you) and wreak havoc there – we’ll help you if you want!

The ink has hardly dried and already this party is in the midst of an internal power struggle? I dread the thought what could happen in the unlikely event that it gets to unseat the incumbent government.
Mr Bean - September 22, 2011 at 6:24 pm
MR.BEAN : Your dread should be our dread too… at what might happen if the current PR gets to unseat the government. That is why I have been saying all along that PR should be limited to state governments for the time being until the country has had an opportunity to see for themselves what they are made of.

That is like wishing a woman to be half-pregnant.
Not a clever idea. When you are in Opposition, you go for the top prize.
As the National Laureate Pak Samad said wisely,
“I am not saying Pakatan is a good guy. But if you don’t let them try, you will NEVER know”.
That is what I call wisdom with age, yet fearless.
Some younger people simply don’t have the guts to take calculated risks and face challenges of change.
After all, the power to change govt still lies in the hands of the voters,,, you can kick out the Pakatan after 5 years.
Unlike the UMNO-BN government, you can’t kick them out easily because of all the frauds and cheating… such as:
a) phantom voters
b) cheating of postal votes of military personnel and their spouses
c) fake myKads
d) citizenships and permanent residents to illegal immigrants
e) dirty electoral database
f)downright bias of the EC… acting like an arm of UMNO-BN
g) Public servants made to be UMNO-BN operatives eg Immigration Office and all the Ministries government officers.
Isa Manteqi, your suggestion, tell that to the Egyptian youths and the Libyan youths who put their lives in harm’s way for a course, while here, we are just asking our voters to cross the street to the polling booth to vote for the opposition.
you got to see the big picture and that is, the best way to clean up the nation’s political landscape to clean the slate… remove this corrupt, crony-driven UMNO-BN govt. As though, 50 years of abuse are not enough. You are teaching our youths to be COWARDS.

I do not believe that will happen.
But Malaysia is not United States. The latter is a true federation and Malaysia is not. States in Malaysia cannot survive as they depend on the federal government for revenue to finance both their operating and capital expenditure. States in Malaysia have no independent significant sources of revenue like state income tax. Imagine a company unable to pay its own employees.
Opposition control of the states may be limited to Penang and Selangor for obvious reasons. Over time UMNO-controlled Putrajaya will work to ensure fund-starved states in Opposition control will not have their share of development capital and economic development in these states would then sputter, stall and come to a screeching halt.
We have seen how opposition controlled constituencies over the years have been neglected to punish the constituents for voting for the opposition.
Mr Bean - September 22, 2011 at 11:53 pm
What will happen though is, in the short run, a state or two may just fall in opposition hands. But it is an aberration and cannot continue. Finally whichever party is in control of Putrajaya will rule the entire country. The states will have to fall in line.
