Happy Friendship Week
To all our Friends,
Please have a great friendship week. This is the time to bury the hatchet and be respectful of one another. Why can’t we be like the bunch in the Peanuts cartoon (below) in stead of playing politics at every opportunity? Yes, we can. Just try. Be charitable.

Dr. Kamsiah and I are grateful for the friends we have on this blog and also on Facebook. They are all over the world, in different cultures and of various religions, and from diverse political systems. We speak different languages, but all of us share a common humanity.
We are proud to have you visit this blog. Of late, you have been very responsible and constructive comments and have shown that we can disagree agreeably and offer ideas and suggestions to those in positions of power on how we can make Malaysia a better place for all who make their home here.If only these powerful people listen more to voices other than their own, maybe we can move forward in peace and prosperity.–Dr. Kamsiah and Din Merican

we enjoy your hospitality, Dr. Kamsiah and Din.
thanks to you for the trying to make Malaysia a better place. Malaysia is unique in many ways lets safeguard it!
best wishes comes to you all the way from Germany.
Ich wünsche Euch einen Fröhlichen Freundschaftstag!

Din & Kamsiah,
Though you might not like Kansas for its loud music. Listen to this. One got to “hold on” to its belief

We like all kinds of music.–Din Merican

Din & Kamsiah,
The lyrics!
Look in the mirror and tell me
Just what you see
What have the years of your life
Taught you to be
Innocence dyin’ in so many ways
Things that you dream of are lost
Lost in the haze
Hold on, Baby Hold on
‘Cause it’s closer than you think
And you’re standing on the brink
Hold on, Baby Hold on
‘Cause there’s something on the way
Your tomorrow’s not the same as today
Don’t you recall what you felt
When you weren’t alone
Someone who stood by your side
A face you have known
Where do you run when it’s too much to bear
Who do you turn to in need
When nobody’s there
Hold on, Baby Hold on
‘Cause it’s closer than you think
And you’re standing on the brink
Hold on, Baby Hold on
‘Cause there’s something on the way
Your tomorrow’s not the same as today
Outside your door He is waiting
Waiting for you
Sooner or later you know
He’s got to get through
No hesitation and no holding back
Let it all go and you’ll know
You’re on the right track
Hold on, Baby Hold on
‘Cause it’s closer than you think
And you’re standing on the brink
Hold on, Baby Hold on
‘Cause there’s something on the way
Your tomorrow’s not the same as today

Is “disagree agreeably”, the same as “agree to disagree”?
The first – if taken to mean disagree and state a counter opinion, agreeably (or rather civilly), is a powerful indictment of what ‘free speech’ is about. I’m sure this is it.
If it means the latter – then it’s an oxymoron which i hear uttered and written ad nauseum. I would’ve responded to souls who speak such profanities, with a song to my Rat (please don’t lose your milk teeth on account of me):

CLF,
How about Kansas “What’s on my mind?” The lyrics!
Well you told me that I was just not the one,
And you left me standing out in the cold
It’s been a long time and I’m so much better now
That I’m looking back and seeing it all
And for the first time there’s no pain in my life
Though it’s a long hard road that I’ve gone
We had a good thing and it made me a man cause I know
You got me goin’, pardon me my feelings are showing
I’m only saying what’s on my mind
Well I found you or maybe I found myself
And I think we knew it all of the time
We fit together just like a lock and a key
And we opened up each other’s minds
Yeah, I was laughing ‘caus there was no room to cry
There was too much growing to do
We had a good time and it ain’t over yet ’cause I know
You got me goin’, pardon me my feelings are showing
I’m only saying what’s on my mind
You came from nowhere and you just jumped in my life,
And I know it never will be the same
You made me love you and now I’m home once again
No, I never want to leave you no more
‘Caus I’m attached to the better half of myself
And there’s nowhere else that I’d rather be
You filled an empty, you fixed a bad broken heart, and I know
You got me goin’, pardon me my feelings are showing
I’m only saying what’s on my mind

What happen to all your friends Din?
Always Faithful

I believe the word is gone “Loco”, semper.
We all love Din and Dr Kam to bits, but don’t know how to show our appreciation. And may have frightened off more, due the heat of the kitchen.
The past week has been one of angst, reflecting the state of our beloved country. Perhaps we should try a milder approach, and go back to classical jazz and soft rock.

Bean
For us folks like you and me, here goes:

Yep. I met Loga when I was introduced to him at the Merlin Penang coffee house for the first time (only time) in 1981. Penang didn’t have much too offer in the way of night life. My favorite haunts then were the Bunny Inn and the Latin Quarter and Merlin Disco (your favorite haunt). That about covers everything.

Folks, you can get what you really want. You got to try, try and try and you’ll get it a last. That’s the year we are heading into in 2012.
Mr Bean - September 19, 2011 at 11:57 am
You can get if you really want. But you must try, try and try, try and try. You’ll succeed at last.

Yeah, thank you Dato for giving us a platform for interaction, information sharing, with an open and neutral mind. All we want is for a better Malaysia for our future generation.

In politics, there is no friends and foes! Yesterday’s enemies, today’s friends, today’s friends, tomorrow’s enemies.
