Avoid Lies, says The Malaysian Insider
(published on May 9, 2011)
It’s rich for UMNO secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor to advise Malaysians not to be influenced by hearsay over Utusan Malaysia’s Christian Malaysia reports.
“Like what the prime minister has stressed, we should not be quick to react. We do not know what has been said. We didn’t hear… If someone begins by saying apple, then eventually the apple will turn into something else.I recommend that [Malaysians be] calm and hear what actually transpired,” Tengku Adnan said today.
Where was he on May 7 when Utusan Malaysia came out with its baseless report?Where was he when pro-UMNO bloggers spun the story last week? Where is he now when Utusan and the other Bahasa paper, Berita Harian, report the story like it is factual.
Fact is, Utusan and the bloggers are still out there, putting out stories based on lies. And UMNO is keeping silent about.Fact is, people like Tengu Adnan have only sweet words which have no substance against the reality. And UMNO is good at it.
They are powerless to act against the likes of Utusan, PERKASA, PEMBELA and the host of bloggers who have decided to okay to malign other races in the country.
Tengku Adnan can give fatherly advice and ask Malayians to stay calm and avoid hearsay — which is what the Christians have done. And for that matter, DAP politicians who have also been dragged into a presumed plot to usurp Islam’s position in the country.
But all this only came after Datuk Seri Najib Razak asked for calm. What if he had kept his silence and let the issue fester and bubble all week?Fact is, there is nothing to substantiate what Utusan and the bloggers have published and given a life to.
“I don’t know where Utusan get their reports from. Besides I cannot comment much but like what I have said earlier is for everybody to be calm and I believe towards the end, we will know what actually transpired in the meeting in the end,” Tengku Adnan said.
There is no hearsay here. Just a simple plain lie repeated enough times to smear DAP and its allies. That much Tengku Adnan should know. He should get UMNO sycophants to stop the lies. Forever.
BN head by the “wash the kris in Chinese blood” president is putting up the 1Malaysia slogan while doing something opposite.
Observe
1. UNMO President on the same platform during the Permatang Pauh bye-election whenChinese were called “Pendatangs”
2. The sex video was used for the purpose of toppling the Kedah state govt by trying to make the leadership of PKR seem immoral.
3. The toppling of the Perak DUN, after which the politicians tried for corruption live happily after and the DAP frog got her wealth and also live happily thereafter;
4. The cow head incident;
5. The latest “Kristian” incident, where even a layman can see through the Sandiwara.
It is a bunch of clowns masqurading as politicians and in a multi-racial society such clowns are dangerous. It is time for Malaysian to say enough is enough and that we want a Malaysian Malaysia which the theme is inclusiveness and not divide and rule.

Ken,
I am sorry I have to delete your comment on Tengku Nan…it is not in the spirit of this thread, and the objective of this blog.

I am sad that our politiking has become divisive and this is unhealthy for the future of our country. Let us rebuild a national consensus and work hard for unity since everybody loses when our country is divided along racial and religious lines. Both Barisan Nasional and Pakatan leaders must show that they can rise above the politics of religious difference and ethnicity.–Din

Truly irresponsible propaganda.
The work of Machiavellians and desperadoes.
Trying to emulate the German Nazi
Dr. Josef Goebbels’ “Big Lie” technique.
But these irresponsible propagandists are being named (and shamed?)
Phua Kai Lit - May 10, 2011 at 11:31 am
Mahathirs legacy to malaysia and malaysians is :
1. malays , indians , chinese , sarawakians and sabahans ; and
2. common petty malay thieves as umno leaders.
These petty thieves have been having it so good , they just want the same to continue . Alas , do they care for Malaysians and malaysia at all ? Definately not – even mahathir does not care . All they care about is take all they can .
abu nawas - May 10, 2011 at 11:37 am
Wikipedia on the Nazis’ use of “Big Lie” technique for political propaganda:
The phrase was also used in a report prepared during the war by the United States Office of Strategic Services in describing Hitler’s psychological profile:[3][4]
His primary rules were: never allow the public to cool off; never admit a fault or wrong; never concede that there may be some good in your enemy; never leave room for alternatives; never accept blame; concentrate on one enemy at a time and blame him for everything that goes wrong; people will believe a big lie sooner than a little one; and if you repeat it frequently enough people will sooner or later believe it.[5]
Phua Kai Lit - May 10, 2011 at 11:52 am
Time and again, umno mouthpiece has published countless sensitive issues of religion and race, but no action taken. Are we in ONE MALAYSIA???
Many politicians can not change themselve or the party, so the only thing is to “create” R(race & religion) tension, hoping to disunite the nation. But these will also chase away the FDI, and the repercussion is jobs are lost, and that will only drive the country to doldrum.
concerned citizen - May 10, 2011 at 12:14 pm
That’s a bit rich for the bloggers too to pretend that they “care” about Islam since all they have been doing is to spread fitnah here and there. Not to mention the spreading of a porn video too. Tg. Adnan and Najib’s call for calm from Malaysians reminded me of a family I knew where one sibling always find something to fight about with the other sibling and the dad will always tell the good sibling to stay calm and not entertain them. It didn’t do anything good since the troubled sibling beat the crap out of the other sibling after that. I fear (pray not) that the same will be happening in Malaysia if nothing is being done to curb the likes of Utusan and Perkasa.
They must be running out of tactics from the playbook. It’s pathetic that they have to use Islam to cause fear and distrust among people. I guess religion is the last refuge of a coward fits these people very well.
didi - May 10, 2011 at 12:20 pm
Phua,
Even the Malays find the Utusan crap too good to be true. A few of my army mates called to convey their disgust with Umno’s manipulation using the print media and blogs to spread lies.
I just hope these idiots realise that their spins are not reaching the intended target. It’s pathetic. Everyone is getting fed-up.
We’re dealing with very very desperate people.
Tok Cik - May 10, 2011 at 12:25 pm

it was amusing to hear you hope that BN can rise above racial politics.
They never will!

Dato’,
If you look at it the home minister, info minister and their alter ego Perkasa took the lead from their spokes person utusan!
Anyway Dato’ you should rethink about your friendship with Rocky! Again his spin made a fool out of you!
The Simple Man - May 10, 2011 at 1:16 pm
The Simple Man,
Rocky is someone who is a social contact whom I politely call friend. You know, friends do not write nasty things about one another. I will not resort to his method of writing and language. Thanks for your kind advice and concern.
Without sounding boastful, I have served our country in various capacities to the best of my ability. So, I do not get to be 72 for nothing. I never expect everyone to agree with me and I have always been critical of my detractors and our leaders, but never disrespectful of them.–Din Merican

Otak Lembek political maneuvers.
By the Ethnocentric Facist Goons. Pure Desperation leading to Contempt.
As things go, the mega issues of: hubristic entitlement, incompetence, mismanagement, corruption and cronyism are being subsumed by the absolute rubbish and incoherence of synthesized ethnic-religious conflicts – when none should exist.
Inflation, stagflation, environmental degradation and loss of socio-cultural identity is the enemy, not mere imagination. The living standards that many take for granted are plumbing to new depths. Fortunately, true Malaysians can winnow the rice from the husks. Umno-Bn, be-gone!
C.L. Familiaris - May 10, 2011 at 1:54 pm
UMNO is running amok together with its guard dogs – Utusan, Perkasa, Pembela, TV3 and the UMNO bloggers.
They have completely lost their sense of right and wrong. Utterly insane and even Malays don’t believe them.
UMNO is immolating itself!!
These are the worst kind of human beings I have come a crossed in this country.
If 8% of the population can conquer this country and place Islam under siege, then I would say pigs, fish, worms and crocodiles can fly in Bolehland.
Only those who believe the world is flat will also believe this Utusan which Christianized Tengku Razaleigh in 1990.
UMNO crying wolf, wolf, wolf.
Sam01 - May 10, 2011 at 2:11 pm
Maybe it is not time yet to have Tan Sri Dompok as prime minister but i think he will definately make a better Home Minister then Hishamudin. Dompok , like Pairin and Jeffery Kitingan seem to know and understand the constitution better then these corrupt UMNO hooligans and the apes they have as counterparts in Utusan and Barisan.
arokiasamy - May 10, 2011 at 2:14 pm
Will they shut down missionary schools like convent schools, St.John, VI etc? Following Perkasa and Utusan’s logic, I think we should call for investigations on the faith of Siti Hasmah, Hishamuddin’s wife, Rafidah Aziz, some former Sultanahs and many more since they were educated in MISSIONARY schools. I went to a convent school myself but do I have the itch to convert to Christianity? No. Alhamdulillah I have my faith in Allah and Islam. I’m living in the Bible Belt currently and I don’t see mass exodus of Muslims converting to Christianity, in fact there were a lot of new reverts to Islam. Utusan’s paranoia is worse than a paranoid schizophrenic.
didi - May 10, 2011 at 2:20 pm
Paranoid Schiz?
Nah.., not full psychosis yet but getting there.
At the moment, Umno-BN is suffering from a Borderline Personality Disorder. It’s cognition is as warped as it’s morality. Normally, they are suicidal and lurch from one self-inflicted crises to another trying to bring all concerned into disrepute and pain.
True psychosis is when they run Amok physically. Also called “Beserking”, which is aided by mega-doses of Tongkat Ali mixed with Kacip Fatimah.
C.L. Familiaris - May 10, 2011 at 2:42 pm
It is sad leaders prefer to take the ‘populist road’ than doing the right things, Dato! It is really a sad reality we’re all facing here in Malaysia.
All I can add here is that we need solid, decisive and honest leadership to put this country back on the correct path and sadly again, the 1PM Najib has too many baggages, weaknesses and have no moral authority to be that leader.
I am a Malaysian Chinese and I would rather have people like Khalid Samad, Mohd Nizar, Mahfuz Omar, Husam Musa, Malik Imtiaz, Haris Ibrahim and yourself Din Mercian to provide the moral leadership than this tainted PM we have now!
We really need someone sincere, honest and someone who will do the right thing to bring us back to the path towards correctness and not towards disaster!
God Bless Malaysia!
Sentinel - May 10, 2011 at 3:05 pm
Borderline Personality Disorder? More like Anti-Social Personality Disorder. Lack of conscience, no regards for other people other than themselves, tendency to cause harm to other people and no remorse.
Are they not already “beserking”?
didi - May 10, 2011 at 3:08 pm
Please dont even look down upon those suffering mentla illness and dont insult them by comparing them to politicians. Have respect for those who truly have mental illness.
kathy - May 10, 2011 at 3:16 pm
Hahaha.., beserking by oral standards, didi.
Borderline personality disorders are full of psycho drama, while anti-social ones tend to be hubristically ‘charming’ like the Boston Strangler or Jeffrey Dahmer.
Anyway, enough of psycho stuff. What they actually need is an ECT – electro-convulsive therapy session, without the anaesthesia.
C.L. Familiaris - May 10, 2011 at 3:17 pm
Wassup, Kat? These ‘kutu’ politicians of ours and local bloggers actually suffer from some serious mental disorders! And they are considered ‘normal’ and speaking behalf of their audience.
C.L. Familiaris - May 10, 2011 at 3:21 pm
HI CLF, its just that over here we dont sort say anything negative about the mentally ill because over here we speak about caring for them in the open and help is avalilable fo r them and programmes of awareness to ehlp those mentally ill. So we need to respect that they are ill and the politicians are well just incapable!
kathy - May 10, 2011 at 3:23 pm
I suppose that which you and didi are describing is more in the category of narcissistic
kathy - May 10, 2011 at 3:39 pm
kathy,
I think I’ve learnt sometime ago in Psych 101 that most politicians are narcissists and some people working at places like Wall Street are sociopaths. Their mental “illness” led them to that career path. Also I don’t mean any disrespect to the mentally ill.
didi - May 10, 2011 at 3:41 pm
No I suppose I know you didnt however over here we really do have high awareness that the mentally ill are to be helped and not to be hidden. The politicians , well thats another long story altogether.
kathy - May 10, 2011 at 3:46 pm
Narcissism, paranoia, delusions etc are but symptoms. Hallucinations and fugue states are cognitive dissociations. Personality disorders are a galaxy of symptoms.
Our politicians are by nature and nurture, mentally challenged. Will that do?
C.L. Familiaris - May 10, 2011 at 3:48 pm
You are very patient!
kathy - May 10, 2011 at 3:51 pm
Utusan has been known to be a publication which perpetually dishes out divisive, racial, baseless, blatantly hatred inciting articles with impunity, those, which sane human beings would rile with agony. Hasn’t it crossed the line and overstepped its limits?
And what have the PM, the supposedly single most powerful person of the country’s reaction been? Asking for calm and patience from the rakyat for the authorities to investigate instead of a strong reprimand to the publishers?
Time and again when such sensitive issues and the likes of them arise, we look forward to Najib’s wisdom to solve and control and show us his capability befitting the PM position he is occupying now. Yet, time and time again he displays nothing but disappointment and indecision. Dato Din, I am aware deep within your heart you harbour hopes that Najib can turn out to be better given circumstances which he can overcome, but, I am inclined to believe that ‘for those who hope? they are hopeless’.
If Najib could be the PM that all Malaysians expect him to be, he would already have shown us all that he can a long time ago.
__________
FochAvenue, I believe in giving Najib all the chances he needs. It takes time to undo what has been done over the last 30 years. Ask yourself this question: what would you do if you as PM inherited these problems and know that there are many pretenders to your throne of power. –Din Merican
FochAvenue - May 10, 2011 at 4:36 pm
But Dato, like you say and like we all know, the position of PM is the most powerful in the country!!!! With that power in hand and you cannot determine and/or change the destiny of the country and its peoples, then what good are you? It boils down to, you do not befit the position.
FochAvenue - May 10, 2011 at 4:58 pm
Way to go Dato’. Anyway I would disagree that Najib is PM for all. Last week he called upon Pas for Malay unity. Looks like he is a PM for Malay only. With Sarawak being a wake up call, this latest issue looks like an agenda to pool in Malay voters with the lost of Chinese and Christian voters.
He should be reaching out to all M’sains and not just the Malays. Looks like 1 Malaysia is just sandiwara bcos PM and UMNO minister speak with a fork tounge. You have Utusan, Perkasa, Rocky to confirm that! Let’s be honest Dato’ who does Rocky spin for?

Drinthehouse,
We got media studies in our syllabus. And we discussed the newspapers and blogs. My lecturers said if a blog have the same people commenting and with the same tone, that means the blogger is partial to people who bodek him.
Like Din’s blog where everyone cheers for him.Like comments from others not in his camp are deleted. Din is IMalaysia right and he is old right? So it’s respectful to call him uncle. Or do want me to call him grandpa. You also call him uncle, Mr Drinthehouse. Have a good day everyone.

Can Pakatan give loan like that to students, answer me please.
Amoi Chin
BINGO – CAUGHT YOU. in one sentence you reveal who you really are.
Answer: If Pakatan forms the government I’m sure they’ll do better than just give you a study loan. See even now BN under pressure and has suddenly decided to give JPA scholarship to all top achiever. This is what we are hoping for, a better, fairer and responsible government regardless BN or PR.
semper fi - May 11, 2011 at 9:47 pm
When Saiful can see the PM for a study loan, I `m sure Amoi Chin can see the PM for a loan to buy car , house and maybe even a husband.
Pakatan`s policy and still is for the betterment of all Rakyat irrespective of Race, Religion, Creed or belief. Is it implied that Pakatan will withdraw the PTPN loan if they come to power.
Have confidence that Pakatan may extend interest free or discounted PTPN loans when the time comes. PTPN loans are from tax payers , its from collective Government revenue. It is not BN or PR monies. As a `student` please mature up and read more.
When Ministers children and very rich connected peoples children in Malaysia can get scholarships , why aren`t you getting.
Maybe now ? Malaysia Boleh

So, Najib and his top Umno guns chair weekly meetings to decide articles to be printed in Utusan Malaysia. What a sad revelation. The whole bunch of crooks utilises Utusan to further their political agenda. It’s all clear now why Utusan’s articles are wicked, divisive, malicious etc….

Amoi Chin should ask Rockybru or the BN Government who so graciously extended her or him the PTPN loan to publish in MSM or blog or anywhere the listing of all those who obtained Schloarships and what results they achieved, brief family background including financial, tallied with Income tax returns.
PTPN loans should have been introduced earlier, what last few years ago. Lots of people missed out higher education due to same and the blame is all to BN, not Pakatan.
