The Summing Up of the Rosli Dahlan Case: Issues of Justice and Integrity

The  Summing Up of the Rosli Dahlan Case: Issues of Justice and Integrity

by Din Merican

Finally the curtain is down on Musa Hassan. The most despised Inspector-General of Police (IGP) in the entire history of the Polis DiRaja Malaysia (PDRM) was so unceremoniously booted out. A man who had enjoyed so much power that he can inflict both physical and psychological harm on citizenry must now adapt himself to the realities of becoming a non-entity and face scorn of Malaysians. ”The evil that men do lives after them”(William Shakespeare, Julius Caesar), so let it  be with Musa Hassan.

Credit to the Minister of Home Affairs

Credit must be given to the Minister of Home Affairs, Dato’ Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein for orchestrating the press conference during which the end of the Musa Hassan’s contract was announced. Hishamuddin’s lawyering skills can now be acknowledged for Hishammuddin  trapped Musa Hassan nice and proper this time, after a failed attempt in March 2010 when Musa outwitted his Minister.

Hishamuddin’s lawyering skills can now be acknowledged for Hishammuddin trapped Musa Hassan nice and proper this time, after a failed attempt in March 2010 when Musa outwitted his Minister.

Musa Hassan relentlessly and shamelessly lobbied to keep his job

It was widely known within the ranks of PDRM that Musa Hassan was still lobbying very hard ,even  in the eleventh hour to get a further extension when Hishammuddin dropped the executioner’s blade on him. To get that extension, Musa Hassan even created and popularised the myth that the Deputy IGP Ismail Omar was not fit to succeed  him as IGP and that none of the existing Directors were ready. That is how scheming that son of an Ustaz can be.

Musa Hassan will now be remembered in the annals of PDRM’s history as the IGP who did not want his Deputy IGP to succeed him.

Surely, Musa did not need to be reminded that he picked Tan Sri Ismail Omar as Deputy IGP before he started name-calling Ismail Omar as “bongok” and “bengap”.  But Musa did not care for all that.

All he cared for was to get a third extension. That was how desperate Musa was and the Mingguan Malaysia interview which he used to lambast Hishammuddin is the proof in the pudding. Musa Hassan will now be remembered in the annals of PDRM’s history as the IGP who did not want his Deputy IGP to succeed him.

Who is the REAL Musa Hassan?

Musa has also carved out many more names for himself in the history of PDRM. For starters, he has always been ambiguous about being a university graduate. Many, even Tan Sri Robert Phang, questioned him on his so-called law degree. Musa’s response was to adopt Abdullah Badawi’s “elegance silence” to such a serious allegation that he is a bogus university graduate. He was as inept as ex-Prime Minister  and slumber jack Abdullah Badawi.

His fame as a police investigator was just by being the Mattress Carrier in Sodomy I. For fabricating evidence in the case against Anwar Ibrahim, he was rewarded with a mercuric rise and managed to bypass his immediate superior, Dato’ Ramli Yusuff, to become IGP. There it was Dato’ Ramli who gave him two promotions and what did he do to Dato’ Ramli? He fixed Dato’ Ramli and eliminated him from PDRM! In case you have forgotten, let me just remind you what else Musa Hassan did to become the IGP.

Tan Sri Bakri Omar Outwitted

Just before Ramadan 2005, Musa Hassan baited Tan Sri Bakri Omar’s son to monopolise the Ramadan Bazaar licence. He then used his in-laws in the then ACA to nab Tan Sri Bakri’s son for involvement in manipulating the licence and got his media friends, namely Lourdes Charles of The Star and Ruhaidini Abdul Kadir of Utusan Malaysia, to publicise that story. That was a low blow that dented Tan Sri Bakri’s reputation although his son was not charged eventually.

Musa Hassan used Lourdes Charles of The Star and Ruhaidini Abdul Kadir of Utusan Malaysia, to dent Tan Sri Bakri’s reputation although his son was not charged eventually.

Then in 2006, when Tan Sri Bakri’s wife was taken ill, Musa spread the rumour that Tan Sri Bakri was a philandering husband and was bonking a junior policewoman. That sealed Tan Sri Bakri’s fate, and he was not given an extension, but instead retired into oblivion. That was why Tan Sri Bakri was heard saying to his close friends that Musa’s picture crying on his farewell was nothing more than crocodile  tears. Musa Hassan then immediately became IGP.

Musa Hassan and the Crime Syndicate

Musa’s rise as IGP was actually part of the grand design by the crime syndicate. That shadowy character BK Tan had already drawn up a “succession plan” for PDRM and that can only be achieved if Musa became IGP. Like the Mafia in the USA which moved on to legitimise their business by opening the Las Vegas casino, the illegal money lending Along syndicate knew that they could not remain with that illegal operations for long. Thus, the Along masterminds hatched a plan which would require the competing Along syndicates to come under one umbrella, the BK Tan umbrella, whose patron is the IGP himself!

Along masterminds hatched a plan which would require the competing Along syndicates to come under one umbrella, the BK Tan umbrella, whose patron is the IGP himself!

In that plan, Musa Hassan will be portrayed as doing a cleaning up job of getting rid of the Along syndicates.

The Along is like the Mafia in the USA

Whereas, in truth, all Musa did was to eliminate BK Tan’s competitors. Those who opposed BK Tan would be eliminated by being held under the Emergency Ordinance (EO) in the Simpang Renggam detention centre. In the underworld, that detention is something that is most feared. Those who played ball with BK Tan will be asked to apply for and will be given a licence to operate a legal moneylending business. Those who don’t will be detained and their business taken over by BK Tan’s allies. Now you know why the whole country was gripped by fear of the Along menace in 2006-2009.

That climate of fear was generated to send a warning to those not aligned to BK Tan that their end was near. That is how simple the “pemutihan” or legalisation of the Along syndicate was supposed to be. If you doubt this, just read what Musa Hassan’s ADC, ASP Azizul, had stated in his Statutory Declaration that Raja Petra Kamarudin (RPK) posted on Malaysia Today (MT) recently.

Musa Hassan tried to discredit  Deputy Minister Johari Baharom

But Musa was not aware that by then six police rank and file operatives had already collated information that the twice EO criminal, Goh Cheng Poh @ Tengku Goh, was already enforcing that plan by using IGP Musa Hassan’s name as his badge of authority. Deputy Minister Dato’ Johari Baharom also got wind of this and directed his own officers to verify this information. Johari Baharom then directed Dato’ Ramli’s Commercial Crimes Investigations Department (CCID) to pick up Tengku Goh who was ready to spill the beans on Musa Hassan unless Musa bailed him out.

Being the UMNO politician that he is, Johari Baharom backed down and abandoned the CCID officers. In a quid pro quo, the MACC then simultaneously cleared both Musa Hassan and Johari Baharom.

To discredit Johari  Baharom, Musa directed Dato’ Christopher Wan, then Director CID, to create an anonymous blog which made allegations of corruption against  Johari Baharom. Musa then conspired with his buddies, Ahmad Said Hamdan of the ACA (now known as the MACC) and AG Gani Patail to frighten off Johari Baharom. Being the UMNO politician that he is, Johari Baharom backed down and abandoned the CCID officers. In a quid pro quo, the MACC then simultaneously cleared both Musa Hassan and Johari Baharom. Immediately thereafter, six rank and file officers were charged by the MACC for fabricating evidence against Musa Hassan. The mainstream media ran to town with this story.

What the mainstream media did not report later and what the public does not know is that all these six policemen have been acquitted. If they have been acquitted, wouldn’t that mean that the information that they had collated about Musa Hassan being involved with the syndicate are all true? So, Musa is the first IGP in the history of PDRM to accuse his own men in blue of trying to fix him. Ask yourself this question- what would these junior officers benefit from trying to fix their IGP?

The Unholy Trinity and the Fixing and Prosecuting Dato Ramli Yusuf and Lawyer Rosli Dahlan

That was not the end of it. To strike fear that no one should ever try to go against this Unholy Trinity of Musa Hasan, AG Gani Patail and the MACC, the mainstream media was roped in to publish false stories about Dato’ Ramli being “ The RM27 Million Cop”. That was a good diversion to deflect scrutiny of the damaging information about Musa Hassan’s complicity with the crime syndicates. And the masses were swayed, including RPK, who wrote about the “turf war” in PDRM for control of the crime syndicates, as if implying that Dato’ Ramli was with Dato’ Johari Baharom  as the other party seeking control of the turf.

Subsequently, even RPK tacitly acknowledged that impression was not accurate, when AG Gani and the MACC brutalised Lawyer Rosli Dahlan and charged him just one day before Hari Raya of 2007. The bigger picture then emerged that Dato’ Ramli and Lawyer Rosli Dahlan had featured prominently in the criminal case being pursued against the former Chairman of MAS, Tajudin Ramli.

The bigger picture then emerged that Dato’ Ramli and Lawyer Rosli Dahlan had featured prominently in the criminal case being pursued against the former Chairman of MAS, Tajudin Ramli.

The MAS Affair

The bigger agenda was to discredit these two professionals in their pursuit against the plunderers of the national airlines, MAS. RPK has produced documents which showed that Abdullah Badawi was also plundering the national airlines by forcing MAS to give out lop-sided contracts to his brother’s company LSG-Ibrahim. No wonder in an unprecedented move in 2007, Abdullah Badawi eagerly extended Musa Hassan’s contract on a two year term in one go. We now know the reason. Finally!

The bigger agenda was to discredit these two professionals, Ramli and Rosli in their pursuit against the plunderers of the national airlines, MAS.

Musa Hassan: “An Incredible Witness” (Judge Supang Lian, Kota Kinabalu Sessions Court)

All these fit in very well with Musa Hassan’s own plans to eliminate any successors in the PDRM. Thus, Musa Hassan with help from AG Gani and the MACC fixed all kinds of silly charges against Dato’ Ramli. Since then Dato’ Ramli has been acquitted of all these trumped up charges. In a turn of events, Judge Supang Lian of the Kota Kinabalu Sessions Court denounced Musa Hassan as “an incredible witness whose evidence is not to be believed”. In other words, Musa Hassan is a Liar. This was the most damning thing ever stated in a judgment against a serving head of department and never before said against an incumbent IGP. In that sense, Musa has scored a first in many things.

Musa has scored a first in many things !

Never before in the history of PDRM has an IGP accused his junior officers of trying to fix him. Never before has an IGP appeared in court as a star witness against his own Police Director in order to secure a conviction against that Director. Never before has a Judge denounced an IGP as a Liar. Never before has an IGP schemed against his own Ministry’s Deputy Minister to create a false blog to mount allegations of corruption. Never before has an IGP been named by a criminal like Goh Cheng Poh @ Tengku Goh in an affidavit  to seek the criminal’s release (and the criminal  was indeed subsequently released).

Never before has an IGP been accused by another senior officer, former Senior Assistant Commissioner Dato’ Mat Zin, of fabricating evidence. Never before has an IGP been accused by his own ADC, ASP Azizul, of being a Pengkhianat Bangsa. Musa Hassan has all that distinctions and more.

It was as if Musa Hassan was trying to match the distinctions of his good friend and ally, the AG Gani Patail. Only last week RPK exposed why AG Gani Patail was unwilling to prosecute the plunderers of MAS. RPK had posted  pictures of AG Gani Patail consorting with Tajudin Ramli and his proxy, Shahidan Shafie. These are the very people named in several reports lodged by MASKargo’s MD Shahari Sulaiman of being responsible for the losses in excess of RM 8 billion.

Tajudin Ramli and his proxy, Shahidan Shafie, are the very people named in several reports lodged by MASKargo’s MD Shahari Sulaiman (pic)of being responsible for the losses in excess of RM 8 billion.

Who is Shahidan Shafie?

RPK had also exposed Shahidan Shafie, as a former police officer charged for corruption in 1990, who is now a successful wheeler dealer rubbing shoulders with the likes of Dato’ Seri Nazri Aziz and Dato’ Seri Zahid Hamidi, all UMNO strong men. The AG Gani Patail has yet to deny or explain why he was seen in the company of Tajudin Ramli and Shahidan Shafie and what is his relationship with these two dubious characters who have been named in the MAS’s reports. These are the kind of people we have walking in the corridors of power today.

AG Gani Patail has yet to deny or explain why he was seen in the company of Tajudin Ramli and Shahidan Shafie and what is his relationship with these two dubious characters who have been named in the MAS’s reports.

Despite all these expose’ and RPK linking the dotted lines for the MACC, all that the MACC has done to date is to keep quiet. Need we remind MACC’s Chief Commissioner Dato’ Seri Abu Kassim of his public pledge that he would resign if cases against these big fishes are not investigated?

New IGP, Tan Sri Ismail Omar:  Be Your Own Man and Do the Right Thing

I am also writing this piece to remind the new IGP Tan Sri Ismail Omar that it is time he becomes his own man. It is time he stops being over polite and attributing his rise to Musa Hassan. It is time, he distances himself from Musa Hassan’s terrible record as an IGP. It is time he stops saying that he will continue with Musa Hassan’s work or legacy.

It is time the new IGP Tan Sri Ismail Omar stops saying that he will continue with Musa Hassan’s work or legacy.

Just as Malaysians are revolted by Abdullah Badawi’s tenure as Prime Minister and want that time in history to be forgotten, similarly the men in blue and Malaysians generally are eager that the PDRM must be purged of  any remnant of the abuses and ills that Musa Hassan had left behind. The sooner Ismail Omar erases the stains left by Musa Hassan the better.

As it is, PDRM under the new IGP Tan Sri Ismail Omar has started winning public support and admiration with the lightning speed with which the Sosilawati murder is being solved. Malaysians are a forgiving lot and badly want to give Ismail Omar a chance to prove himself. Malaysians want a crime free country where PDRM is once again restored as the primary law enforcement agency.

Tan Sri Ismail Omar has started winning public support and admiration with the lightning speed with which the Sosilawati murder is being solved.

Malaysians want the new IGP to instil in the PDRM officers the will and culture to act in accordance with the Rule of Law. Malaysians want the IGP to act like the No. 1 Law  Enforcement Officer of the country without fear or favour, and act less like a politician which Musa Hassan was. Malaysians want the IGP to break PDRM away from being one of the Unholy Trinity that it once was with the AG Gani Patail and the MACC.

Malaysians want the PDRM to be a check and balance to the AG and the MACC so that none can conspire to kill innocent witnesses like Teoh Beng Hock and then attempt to cover up the killing with such impunity. Or fix innocent citizens and professionals like Dato’ Ramli or Lawyer Rosli Dahlan. Or be a tool of oppression to stifle opposition leaders like the prosecution of Anwar Ibrahim in Sodomy I and Sodomy II. Or be an apparatus to depose a democratically elected opposition government as had happened in Perak. These are not unrealistic demands. These are legitimate expectations of a civil society. These are achievable if those entrusted with powers do not abuse them. IGP Ismail Omar can fulfil all of these expectations if he consciously stops emulating his predecessor, that despicable man named Musa Hassan.

Reminder to AG Gani Patail: Lawyer Rosli should be discharged without his Defence being called on September 30, 2010

Musa Hassan is gone and this should be a reminder to AG Gani that his misuse and abuse of powers cannot be perpetuated forever. I am reminding the AG Gani Patail this because Rosli’s case will be called again on Thursday  September 30, 2010. Dato’ Ramli has been fully acquitted. Therefore there is no reason to just prolong this matter against Rosli. The honourable thing to do is to withdraw and apologise.

Lawyer Rosli should be discharged without his Defence being called on September 30, 2010

The public can clearly see this is nothing more than vindictive persecution of an innocent man. Just because the AG Gani Patail is vested with absolute prosecution powers under Article 145 of the Federal Constitution, it does not mean that he can use it as a tool to victimise a professional who dared question his abuses and defend a civil servant whom AG Gani and ex-IGP Musa Hassan had conspired to eliminate.

YB Salahuddin Ayub: Time to Act

If the AG Gani Patail persist with his abuses with the intent of dragging the case against Rosli just to make Rosli suffer further, I call on YB Salahuddin Ayub to raise in Parliament on Rosli’s role in pursuing the civil and criminal cases against Tajudin Ramli and the other plunderers of MAS.

I call on YB Salahuddin Ayub to raise in Parliament to ascertain Rosli’s role in preparing affidavits for the CCID and Dato Johari Baharom and yet despite that, why AG Gani Patail ordered the release of Goh Cheng Poh @ Tengku Goh, among other issues as well.

I call on YB  Salahuddin Ayub to raise in Parliament if it is true that Dato’ Ramli had recommended for Tajudin Ramli to be prosecuted and why the AG Gani Patail had refused to prosecute Tajudin to this day. I call on YB  Salahuddin Ayub to raise in Parliament if it is true that the twice EO detainee Goh Cheng Poh @ Tengku Goh had mentioned ex-IGP Musa Hassan’s name in his affidavit. I call on YB Salahuddin Ayub to raise in Parliament why AG Gani Patail refused to prepare affidavits for Dato’ Ramli and his CCID officers and thus abdicated his constitutional duties in that case. I call on YB  Salahuddin Ayub to raise in Parliament to ascertain Rosli’s role in preparing affidavits for the CCID and Dato Johari Baharom and yet despite that, why AG Gani Patail ordered the release of Goh Cheng Poh @ Tengku Goh.

I call on all Malaysians to express contempt and revulsion at all these happenings and demand that these be stopped immediately!

A Plea to Our Prime Minister: Uphold the Rule of Law and Respect the Dignity of Difference

I would like to quote from  our Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak’s speech at the 65th Session of the United Nations General Assembly(September 27, 2010) which I personally regard as his pledge before the august world body:

I have introduced a philosophy known as 1Malaysia . 1Malaysia is a vision that seeks renewal and rejuvenation to bring all our people together in a just and harmonious relationship. 1Malaysia calls for the acceptance of diversity as a source of greater unity. We seek to celebrate our multi-ethnic and multi-religious society for strategic strength and harmony.”

A Plea to Our Prime Minister: Uphold the Rule of Law and Respect the Dignity of Difference

There can be no 1Malaysia if we continue to divide and rule, if we do not respect the dignity of difference, if we do not respect and uphold the Rule of Law, if we do not practise good governance and defend civil society, if we persist with our racist discourse and permit irresponsible leaders to preach the politics of fear of the other and racism, and if we continue to hound and persecute the innocent. Let there, Mr Prime Minister, justice for all.

Philosopher Tariq Ramadan in his latest book, The Quest for Meaning: Developing a Philosophy of Pluralism, has this to say on this subject: “What the individual must acquire at the personal level–a sense of our shared dignity and human fraternity–communities and societies must organise through laws and regulations. Every individual must be treated equally before the law, without any discrimination as to sex, colour, religion, social status or anything else. This is as much a universal principle, as an ideal…This ideal in fact means that we must always adopt a critical approach to the way societies (and governments, if I may add) apply the law. The law is not an abstraction that applies to individuals who are socially ‘free’ and politically ‘neutral’: socio-economic relations, relations of power and domination and control of the symbol apparatus and the media are so many givens that influence the equal application of the law”.

ISBN: 9780141919577 Published : 05 Aug 2010 Publisher : Allen Lane

So let the healing process begin. That requires our leaders to rise above concerns about political survival and think about the common Malaysian concern for peace, harmony and prosperity. Will you, Mr. Prime Minister, seize the moment or remain in your own comfort zone. A true leader must not be a populist in extremis because he must lead but in compliance with the Rule of Law as embodied in our sacred constitution.

  1. Thank you TS MUSA HASSAN for your service may ALLAH Bless you… never will a person that have a very HIGH INTEGRITY and ISLAMIC EDUCATION with a VERY GOOD TEACHER (his father) will do what is forbidden by HIS RELIGION..

All accusation thrown to him have never been proven by the accuser only accusations without proof..therefore are all lies or fitnah.. all accusers accuse and depend on the enforcement agencies to take action,to investigate, but when the outcome is not what they aspect, they will then accuse those agencies for corruption etc..

Those accuser actually those who have a HIDDEN AGENDA and are all a LIAR!! tq may ALLAH protect those who defend HIS RELIGION and HIS INTEGRITY
    ________
All we have to do is for the MACC to investigate the man. MACC will not investigate a member of the Unholy Trinity. People in the Force know the sort of man Musa Hassan is. But in your naivety you defend him. On what basis?–Din Merican

  2. I sincerely hope our PM will take note of his pledge to uphold the 1Malaysia concept. PM must be brave and do what is right for the rakyat. PM must make sure every Malaysian, irrespective of race or religion be given opportunities. He must ensure that corruption and croynism are eradicated from our system.

He must make sure the justice system is fair and punished all those who had robbed the country. Not only to put these corrupted people to jail, but also to take back the ill-gotten wealth and return the monies stolen from the rakyat. Then surely all Malaysians will want Najib to stay on as long as possible.

Do not let the evil deeds of some of these people in power continue to bring hardship to the rakyat.

  3. Musa Hassan is the biggest embrassment to the police force and this country. He should not have been the IGP, leave alone his service extended a few times. The darkest period for the history of PDRM.

Looks like its also business-as-usual for PDRM. In last night’s demonstration in front of the KLCAH, 50 Perkasa activists with bandanas and headbands burned photos of Namewee and shouted words like Babi etc… and the police just stood idly by and observe. But 50 women and kids with candles singing NegaraKu get manhandled and bundled into black marias to be arrested and charged for illegal assembly.

Its the same lah Din, tell me what has changed?

  4. That picture of Commissioner Bakri Zinin being efficient in the Dato Sosilawati murder case, can I ask you this question, Din, if it had not been a high-profile victim aligned to the ruling party like Dato Sosilawati, would the PDRM had acted or acted that swift? I have lived in this country long enough and experienced and seen enough to tell you PDRM acted fast simple because it was Dato Sosilawati, not so if its me or my buddies because we are just ordinary citizens….

  5. Musang hasan puk@@ak…

  6. Dear Din Merican,

Fonts in dark blue on a black background makes it though reading.
    As usual good write up.

Zaarahcute must be still under that coconut shell. How to provide hard evidence of his misdeeds when all those in power are in a Mexcian shuffle or I scratch your back & you scratch my back situation.

I just wish that the Police Force will go back to crime fighting and enforcing the law than getting involved in politics and its side shows.

  7. The deal is sealed. Even if you have an angel for an IGP he’s powerless to turn the force around. The Police are there to protect Umno. Period.

No point crying ourselves hoarse trying to prick Ismail Omar’s conscience. He has little to show in terms of integrity, fellowship and astuteness. The Umnoputras make sure he has none to begin with. And the same applies to MACC, EC, the courts and, sadly, the armed forces.

  8. Dear All

Anwar Ibrahim, Tian Chua and Raja Petra will be speaking this Saturday in London.

    Date: Saturday Oct 2
Venue: University College London (Gustave Tuck Theatre)
Time: 1 pm to 4:30 pm
    Nearest train/underground station: Euston

Overseas Malaysians, ex-Malaysians and friends of Malaysia: show your support for the next Prime Minister, future cabinet member and ongoing fighter for a more democratic, less corrupt and more decent Malaysia by attending this event!

  9. Zaharacute…your CUTE support for Musa Hassan… that all the ACCUSATIONS are not proven. Go advice Musa Hassan to sue Din Merican, RPK etc. for SLANDER and DEFAMATION. To make sure Musa Hassan wins it ,go get the infamous and RENOWNED lawyer Shaffie Abdullah, Musa’s good buddy in conspiracies to represent him !!! Kalau tidak malu lah Musa Hassan.

  10. May I add one more comment:

At the London event, urge the next Prime Minister (Anwar Ibrahim) to seriously consider making it possible for ex-Malaysians to gain Malaysian Permanent Resident status and regain their citizenship (i.e. allow dual citizenship) so that you can return HOME !

  11. It’s good to be optimistic that some people will change for the good. However, I’m not an optimist. Unless lightning strikes these people and electrocute some sense and goodness into them, you can expect the people in the trinity to continue business as usual.

Of course, deep inside me, I still hope for a miracle that your optimism will hold true.

My moral support to Rosli and all those who have been wronged.

  12. yes i agree fonts on black background is very hard to read. hope you can use a light background with dark fonts instead. good artice.

  13. Musa Hassan is a half-cooked police officer, a product of the 13 Mei 1969 intake. Back then the Police Force were in urgent need of officers to beef up its rank to handle the then volatile security in the country, an aftermath of the racial riots. Any malay school leavers with a grade 3 MCE qualification, including Musa were readily recruited as prob. inspector. They undergo a short stint in training before being hastily posted to the various district stations. That is why Musa started his police career in Sept 1969 at the age of 19 after only 4 months of basic training compared to the normal training period of 1 year for prob. insp.

With an MCE grade 3, how to go to University or colleges. It was fortunate that the country was facing racial riots then. If not for 13 Mei riot, even the Police would not recruit an idiot like Musa. At the very least you need a grade 2 S.C/MCE to become an inspector.

Of course as a matured student and with the Police excellent career and training development programs for its officers, Musa took up a Dip in Law at Mara. That is all about Musa Hasan academic excellence. An average police officer who happened to be a ‘mattress-carrier’ IO in Sodomy 1, which was directed and scripted by Mahathir, Musa like all the conspirators incl Patail enjoyed instant successes in career promotions. Just like any other important public posts, Mahathir always plumped for people with baggage to helm the post of IGP.

  14. Your articles are very good but the different colours of the words especially against a black background is quite a strain on the eye. If you must use different colours then a white background will make for easier reading.

  15. Terima Kasih Tan Sri Musa. Selamat Bersara.

  16. Dear Din Merican,
Its best that the words in your article be in green font and not blue. The blue fonts are hard to read. But any way a good article. Keep us informed!

BTW, the new IGP ain’t that good either. PDRM did nothing at the talk by Namwee at the Chinese Assembly Hall. They should have arrested the protesters who were inciting the crowd!. And they arrested Zunar the cartoonist for what?… sedition?

  17. Just as we thought we had seen the last of sayang and his ilks up come another to take his place. That’s blogging for you. Cheers.

Ya suka sibuk, kita terimakasih Hishamuddin kerana paksa Musa bersara.

  25. Justice is when we see criminals being hauled up in chains and handcuffs to stand trial. Justice is satisfied when the criminal is sent to jail by twelve jurors of his peers for the crime he commits. ‘You do the crime, you do the time’ is the silent cry that fills the halls of justice each time the gavel falls.

In Malaysia, an accused is put on trial to make a political statement. The purpose of which is not to secure a conviction but to punish. When the man accused of having committed a crime is found not guilty, we rejoice in the thought of the millions he would be making in compensation due to prosecutorial misconduct. Never mind that they as taxpayers would be footing the bill. When a top cop — known to be corrupt and to have abused his position to build a financial empire for himself, family and cronies — retires at the end of his career, this is celebrated as if justice has taken its course.

Tell me Malaysia is not a joke!

  26. Mongkut Bean,

What else to celebrate? The system is very oppressive that Malaysians feel relieved that the bad one has retired. But the system breeds more, unless it is thoroughly revamped.–Din Merican

  27. It is alleged that AG Pigtail is going to go after Dato Ramli again. On what charges? Maybe an appeal?

  28. Brother Din

Salam. A very well analysed write-up. I am going to email this article to as many people as I can get hold of with the hope you dont mind.

    Wassalam

  29. I can understand your sense of frustration, anger and despair at the events that surrounded bot Ramli’s and Rosli’s cases. What decent person would not be offended and embittered by the criminal manipulation of the law and the harm that is brought upon us by the very same people that we expect to protect us?

How does one dislodge and free himself from the tight grip these corrupted public servants have on affairs of the State, when it appears that even their political masters, as unclean and tainted with scandal as they are, are themselves indebted and heavily dependent on them for their own survival?

There seem to be just too many of these unethical and immoral people infecting virtually all public agencies who, regardless of the shame and contempt their actions and behavior invites, seem to go about their business with such religious fervor that one wonders where they received their inspiration from and whence from they obtained the courage and audacity to act with such impunity and without fear of prosecution?

Regardless of the shame and contempt their dishonesty, indecency and dereliction of their professional and moral duties invites upon them and to their race, religion, family, friends and even their fellow professionals, they show no remorse nor desire to change their ways.

I am not one inclined to abandon all hope and crawl into some dark corner of the room and pray for divine intervention to salvage what may seem beyond redemption at this time. But, let’s face it, the influence of those whose only mission in life seems no other than to manipulate and use others to enrich themselves and, to foment chaos and racial and religious rivalry , has reached such pervasive proportions that there is hardly any hope left to dismantle and cast them out and, once and for all, heal the pain, the agony and stress and the strain that they have wretchedly caused us.

It gets gloomier by the day when racism like a festering tumor is allowed to invade, and violate, and tear at the very values that unite us, as precarious and fragile as these unifying basis may be, nonetheless, we had a foundation to work with and, there was always the hope for better race relations. However, now, there is this radical shift, and it is inexorably dragging us so far apart that any dream of restoring normalcy and a sense of collective stake in the welfare of this nation is fast being eroded and quickly fading into the zone of no return.

You have these people out there who have been ingrained, from the time they were innocent children, with negative racists sentiments and with vicious lies and deceived into believing that they have been wrongly deprived of what s rightfully theirs, and that there is an ever looming threat that they will yet suffer more losses in their own homeland. Is this not akin to the siege mentality that the politics of fear and hate has succeeded in instilling particularly among the Malays?

And, the mischief being propagated by ultra extremist racist, which appears to enjoy the silent approval of those in office, is so extensive and pervasive that , once it gains its own momentum, there will be no turning back and may assume a danger, so brutal and militant, that there may no longer be any chance for rescue. It might be too late then. Firm intervention is needed now and with the urgency of a life-saving surgery.

But, then again, where do we start. Let’s all hope that the madmen out there, whether actively, morally or otherwise supported and instigated by the likes of Mahathir and UMNO, will back down from the dangerous and morally indefensible game they are playing, whose only outcome may be the complete disintegration of society and the ultimate descent of this country into a failed and pariah State.

  32. Gani,

pray harder. maybe the imam from Iraq be able to help you. go more often to PJ and pray on friday evening. you really need it. God help you.

  33. Musa was seen invoking in front of Ka’abah after performing Umrah……..’ God, I thank you for giving me the strength, intelligence, power to screw all those SOBs who got in my way. All the things I did was to ensure that I have sufficient change to buy an airline ticket to be here before you ‘.

  34. Mohamed, no problem; please go ahead. Hopefully we understand our rights. Justice is everybody’s goal. –Din Merican

  35. Din, I don’t usually go to your blog, but this is an excellent analysis. A bit long but very juicy at every bite. Yes, AG should withdraw against Rosli. But even as he doesn’t, he is making Rosli a bigger hero as every day passes, thanks to you. Keep attacking!

  36. Kita kenal siapa Rosli. Kita tahu dia dianiayai. Kita doakan dan yakin keadlian menyebelahinya, Insyaallah. Peguam Negara akan mengalami aib yang lebih buruk lagi. Tanda tandanya telah pun kita lihat. Allah akan mendedahkan tidak lama lagi.

  37. How can they do this to the good lawyer? It is despicable! I saw photos of the AG posted by RPK. Good men are victimised because the AG is in the pockets of the crooks. Where is the MACC? Why the silence?

  38. Wow! This article has attracted so many UMNO cybertroopers. They realise the damage Din Merican is causing.Gani Patail is a scumbag and should be bundled off like his good friend Musa Hassan. What’s wrong with MACC?! Why not Investigate the link between AG and Shahidan and Goh Cheng Poh?!

  39. Allah selamatkan Rosli! Allah laknatlah Musa Hassan dan Gani Patail!

  41. This “unholy trinty” as you put it, Din, gives a target to the instituitional wickedness that bedevils this country. The first is obviously our keystone cops’ who have become unfortunately the butt of much hilarity, if their infractions were not so damaging to the public.

PDRM has too long been led by a malevolent person who enjoys dehumanizing others – the result of personal vested interests. He has the negative freedom to destroy much more powerful adversaries than either Dato Ramli and Rosli. When cornered, he will prove to be ‘uncontainable’, as all evil beings are.

I doubt we have heard the last of him – and for all we know, he may be the behind the scenes director of operations for the nefarious ones in the next GE.

  42. “Just because the AG Gani Patail is vested with absolute prosecution powers under Article 145 of the Federal Constitution, it does not mean that he can use it as a tool to victimise a professional who dared question his abuses and defend a civil servant whom AG Gani and ex-IGP Musa Hassan had conspired to eliminate.” Din Merican

Correction. His use of discretionary powers is not unfettered. It is his duty to study the police investigation papers to see if there is enough evidence for a successful prosecution. One that merely meets the standard of prima facie case would not be enough.

An unsuccessful prosecution would mean a waste of taxpayer money which could be in the millions.

The issue of prosecutorial misconduct is another issue. That would clearly be an abuse of his prosecutorial powers, if it can be proven, for which he is personally liable.

  43. “An unsuccessful prosecution would mean a waste of taxpayer money which could be in the millions” Bean

Does he really care if millions are lost? We lost a strategic rock outcrop to our southern neighbour. Did he do his homework before taking on the brightest of the island’s legal minds? He didn’t so we lost out and with it went the rakyat’s money. This fella is better selling petai at the wet market in Tamparuli or riding ponies in Kota Belud.

  44. Actually zaharacute you are right in your prayer may Allah protect those who do right. It may not be the person you are backing. As for Sukasibuk you are right Tok Cik, it is an reincarnation of Sayang Bangsa or Sayang Bangsa herself. They cannot help it can they, it has become second nature to back the Umno people who have fleeced everyone from under their noses. And I read another observation, it has never been about the Malays let alone the non ,it has always been for the ‘super elite” those who wield power reckelessly negligently and criminally as to oppress and quieten the people to cover up their corruption and criminal activites, stealing from the nation. Yes Mr Bean, Malaysia right now with the lack of transparency and Rule of Law is a joke.

  46. I hope the PM reads this article because A Leader is not meant to be popular or liked. A Leaders job is to lead, which means hard unpopular decisions have to be made for the betterment of the nation. He has to make the unpopular decisions that go against those who do whatever they wish and make the nation fall.He needs to find his moral and intellectual courage. Tough decisions have to made for the “common good”. A leader is more than a politician.

  47. Kathy, it’s difficult to make hard decisions that go against the wishes of the Umno warlords. Badawi was sent packing for trying to do some “good” for the rakyat. As for Jibby, it’s just lip service to placate “believers” like us. In all honesty, he doesn’t care two hoots. He’s already planning to fleece the nation of RM200 million from the sale of Chinese-made trains and rail cars. Read RPK’s latest revelation.

These Umnoputras’ interest is money and more money. And they have sayang, ilham, suka etc to cheer them on. What a show…

  48. Tok Cik,Yes it is hard for the PM because he is afraid of his own down fall. As a Leader he should choose to do the right thing for once in his life and this decision ( if he dares) may correct every wrong that has ever befallen the nation. This may mean that those who “own” him will make him fall in the process but that is the only way to go out doing the right thing ( morally and intellectually). Then he may finally find his peace.

  49. Salam, It was really a good analysis, albeit long. Nevertheless, some of what had been said about IGP Musa is personal in nature. I hope DM would watch out the fine line about the issue in hand and personal assisination. I do hope DM won’t be another RPK, but by the look of it you are heading that way. We are still in the month of Syawal, and as humans we must be compassion to other fellow human beings. Wassalam

  50. A nation cannot prosper on false fundamentals. We need the Rule of Law for sound economy and the prosperity of a nation. We witness this in western nations. In the majority they do better than those nations that are corrupt. It is the natural laws of this life. We must take heed of this.

  51. Suka sibuk and Zaharah cute is very good sample of a people that read on surface and focus TV3, RTM and Utusan for their proven source.
Do they ever think how can this guy climb up to be IGP, have they work before??? do you know that you have to work hard and show your credibility only than you can climb up and especially in Government Sector seniority counts!! Just to involve in Anwar case and to do some circus act by bringing the mattress which at the end to prove nothing!!

Tell me do both of you feel save to walk alone in the street after 12 compare 10 years ago?? can you be in your house in the day time without locking the doors compare 10 years ago?? How many times a day do you hear about shooting, robbery, snatch theft, serial killer, kidnapping, blow up and burn up people, killing child and hundreds more compare 10 years ago??

Anyhow I don’t need to continue as this 2 guys wont read further as they’re true Malays that couldn’t understand English as they only read and hear Malays mainstream media.
Anyway Din Merican thank you for summarize the Horror story of this IGP which I will tell to my children so that they can do the same to their children and so on…

p/s Since small I like to see the Hindustan movie and said to my self can this be true??? But know the Hindustan story became “Kisah Benar” in our real life in Malaysia.

  52. Din Merican the next RPK?? Then I would only be too happy to help him re-locate his love nest to Washington DC.

  53. But then being away from drkam is not going to be easy for Din Merican. Not to worry. I’ll get Grace Jones to sing him his favorite song every night to sleep.

  54. If as implied, our PDRM and AG’s offices have been infiltrated by the local Mafia and the IGP and AG are their patsies, then this is sufficient ground to call for a RCI to dig out the truth and clean up these institutions once and for all.

We cannot continue to allow gangsters to dictate how the rule of law operates in Malaysia.

    dpp
we are all of 1 race, the Human Race

  55. Can anyone tell me if the AG Gani Pigtail retiring soon or does he need a tribunal to remove him? Or maybe a march on Palace of Justice by Bar Council? Or maybe just a simple expose of him bonking his own staff?

  56. Talking about the (toothless) Bar Council, why is it so quiet on the Rosli Dahlan case? Issuing a short statement alone doesn’t work lah Ragunath! Wake up and do some work!

  57. Din Merican the next RPK?? Then I would only be too happy to help him re-locate his love nest to Washington DC…Bean

    Din,

You must think hard before accepting any carrot from Mongkut Bean, the greatest son of Bakar Bata in New York. Listen to this song, will you?

  58. “I hope DM would watch out the fine line about the issue in hand and personal assassination…We are still in the month of Syawal, and as humans we must be compassion to other fellow human beings.” – aisya

Personal assassination? Din has been saying this since both the trials of Dato’ Ramli Yusuff and Lawyer Rosli Dahlan and all have been proven true! Didnt you see what they, including the mainstream media, did to Dato’ Ramli? Have you forgotten they made this false story that Dato’ Ramli was “The RM27 million Cop”?

The newspapers quoted sources within ACA lah! And that Rosli hid the money and refused to co-operate. All these lies have been exposed as false during the trials and they blacked out reports on the trials. That is why Rosli is suing them for RM50 million.

Come on aisya, the victims of the character assassinations was Dato’ Ramli, he LOST his job! Musa is the perpetrator. Please don’t get confused and please be sure who you are supporting is not the Devil!

  59. “It is alleged that AG Pigtail is going to go after Dato Ramli again. On what charges?” – myexpat68

I heard the same thing. Dato’ Ramli’s lawyers better start preparing him for this new onslaught. Better still, they should sue for malicious prosecution and prosecutorial misconduct by the AG and the MACC. While doing that, check out the pictires that RPK posted shwoing the AG consorting with Tajudin Ramli and Shahidan Shafie. Why is the AG hanging around with an ex-policeman charged for corruption in 1990 and is now a known UMNO wheeler dealer? What tricks is the AG up to after releasing Razak Baginda and refusing to prosecute Tajudin Ramli?

  61. Din, can Dato Ramli sue the government or the AG for wrongful arrest, defamation and lost of his job as CCID Director, rank as Police Commissioner and his pension? I think Dato Ramli should sue! the ex-IGP Musang Hassan & AG Gani Pigtail in their personal capacities! I am most willing to contribute to a legal fund if someone starts one, just post the account number here!

  62. LATEST: The MACC just told the Sessions Court they are not ready to submit on Rosli Dahlan’s case just a while ago and request for yet another month…. a waste of taxpayers’ money dilly-dallying and doing nothing fruitful or beneficial to the country or the rakyat. I think the people of Malaysia are just too damn patient!

  64. tean,

You don’t know what you’re missing until you get your butt on the first plane out here. Here, I’ll let Old Willie show you what you’re missing.

  65. Mongkut Bean,

I think you have been away for too long already. If you come back to Bakar Bata, you can drive “sabai sabai” across border to meet Mr. Thong Chai and his friends. Look.
