Why Follow LKY, we have Badawi and so Malaysia Boleh

September 18, 2010

We don’t need LKY’s Advice, because we in Malaysia have Badawi as our Role Model

Malaysia does not need any advice from Singapore’s Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew because it has its own way of governing the country which comprises multi-racial people, said former prime minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

He said the cultural diversification and racial composition in Malaysia was far different from that of Singapore.

“We are too different from Singapore and Lee’s statement which criticised the system being practised in this country cannot be accepted because Malaysia has adopted a different set of approaches and measures in managing issues involving the cultures and religions of its multi-racial population,” he told reporters after hosting an Aidilfitri open house in Kepala Batas today.

Lee, in an interview published in the New York Times on Sept 1, had criticised the governing system  practised in Malaysia and accused that Malaysia was not being fair and had been sidelining its minority ethnic groups.

In the interview, Lee also envisioned that Malaysia could have done much better if it was not separated from Singapore because the island republic had achieved outstanding racial harmony.

Abdullah, who is Kepala Batas Member of Parliament, also refuted Lee’s allegation that Malaysia had been sidelining minority ethnic groups in the country.

“If we really did that (sidelining minority ethnic groups), Malaysia would have been in trouble all along. We never sidelined any ethnic groups because all of them are equally important to the country,” he said.

Unlike Singapore, Abdullah said, Malaysia was far bigger and consisted of various races and ethnic groups including those in Sabah and Sarawak.

“So far, there is no issue of certain races being sidelined and the government has always been fair to all races,” he added.

  1. “So far, there is no issue of certain races being sidelined and the government has always been fair to all races.” – Abdullah Ahmad Badawi

Wasn’t it during your watch that HINDRAF took to the streets, Pak Lah? Apalah ni, maseh tidok kah?

  2. zzzzzz. huh huh what what? who me? zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  3. Someone needs to reset Abdullah Badawi screen saver or move his mouse or joystick often so he won’t fall asleep after a few seconds of idle time.

  4. Remove Abdullah’s joystick? I thought Rosmah has it removed a long time ago.

  5. “When everything comes in your way, You’re in the wrong lane zzzzzz
and everyone has a photographic memory, Some just don’t have film..zzzzzz”
When LKY speaks the world listens and nothing wrong if we learn from him and if “we can’t convince LKY, confuse him!”

  6. Dear Tun AAB,

UMNO/Barisan had not sidelined any race!
Just look around you. The Orang Asli, the Penans/Dayaks/Kadazans, the impovished Malays/Indians/Chinese are not Malaysians but aliens deserving of being fodders for your enrichment., Wake up please..

  7. LKY has every good reason to make remarks or advise Malaysia.

Look at the numbers of M’sian flow in S’pore everyday to work.

S’pore had contributed significantly by absorbing all your talents,

Check out the numbers of companies owned by Sporean in Malaysia

For a ex PM standard to make such remark, no wonder M’sia can’t progress during his time.

  8. When LKY speaks or writes it is worth listening or reading. We are free to agree or disagree. This is the 21st Century Pak Lah, wake up, but when you speak it is only to a captive audience and only BERNAMA considers it newsworthy. Even UMNO will not give a damn for whatever you have to say. Poor you.

  9. “Semuanya OK”. LKY need not interfere or give any advice to Malaysians. Semuanya OK.

  10. It is so sad that we should have had to have someone like Badawi to be the PM. Sadly, he reinforces the all too strong (and wrong) impression that the typical Malay is stupid, lazy (sleeping all the time) and only there to collect his rent due to his ‘special rights’.

  11. Abdullah
You had your chance but you slept over it. Look what have you done ( or not done ) to Malaysia. Islam Hadhari, Work with Me, Iskandar Malaysia, Eastern Coriidor, MAS, Saya Pantang di Cabar konon. Leave Malaysia alone, go take a nap. You are no match to LKY.

  12. Abdullah Bedouin is not the only one criticizing LYK.
Yes. For sure. Malaysia does not need Mr Lee Kuan Yew’s advice on how to steal in broad daylight from Malaysian Airlines through the inflated food catering contracts.

  13. I agree. Malaysia has its own mould and has no need to emulate Singapore.

    ====

Great, we will soon be Zimbabwe of Asia. Malaysia Bolih.

  14. S.B ..Malaysia has own mould..What mould ??? UMNO/BN mold all cracked up into pieces. I for one want to be free from the mould of corruption, racial bigotry without rhyme or reason, and the hijacking of religion to suit political ends. Why make LKY larger than life that you and your UMNO look alike, take his comments so seriously and spinn it at the same time. Come on lah !!!!!!

  15. Sayang Bangsa… you can take UMNO’s mold of rent-seeking, cronyism, religious bigotry, racist policies, corruption etc and keep it for yourself. Malaysia don’t need such stupid policies as it will definitely take us down the gutter to be likem Zimbabwe, if we are not there yet.

Have they taken any action against that racist school principal from Kulai? Or Nasir Safar, the PM’s special assistant? Or Ibrahim Ali? Of Dr Ridhuan Tee? Or Utusan Melayu? Najib has lost all non-Bumiputra votes and he will NEVER get it back no matter what he does!

Malaysia need a complete change and people likem your Pak Cik Mahathir should be investigated and be brought to face justice, if there is proof!

    Malaysians need closure!

  16. Mould or mold, as in Fungus, Mycoses or ‘Kulat’?
Does the term ‘bodoh-sombong’ seem too extreme?
Although the ‘circumstances’ and demographics are different, is ‘meritocracy’, honesty, incorruptability, accountability, hard work and correctly guided principles with implementation thereof, bad words?
    Nice pics again, Din..

  17. Yes agree that LKY should not advice us however, LKY must advice our Badawi not to sleep all the time.. He slept all the way and I am sure he did not read at all what was in the NYT . It will be better he sleep it out and never wake up at all.

  18. The poor bloke suffers from sleep apnea. Leave the guy alone and move on.

  19. While trying seriously hard NOT to be prejudiced against my so-called leaders. I tried and can’t help but to look down on them.
Denial, out right lies, permissible amnesia, condescending attitude, thieving upbringing are common traits amongst the likes of apanama, bodowi, jibby and their cohorts.
Is it then by coincident I, a true blue 4th generation m’sian, can get genuinely inspired by our southern neighbor’s Independence Day speech made by Brg Gen Lee? And now to have his father LKW putting the last nail to the bolehland coffin! Too much indeed!

  20. Hey

Why are all you Malaysians supporting a Singaporean dictator?

At least with Badawi, he slept through our protests, and did not put all of us in jail. IF LKY was our premier, all of you will be in jail for dissent.

Now, the people of Malaysia choose BN to steer the country. If Malaysia had wanted LKY brand of leadership, then we should have put Lim Kit Siang in the PM seat. We did not. We choose UMNo/MCA/MIC and UMNO lead us in their own best way they could. So, Badawi is right, we dont need no advise from Singapore. We have a special circumstance and population that is very different from Singapore. Our constitution confers special rights to the majority and we have a sultanate also to prop up. Singapore is a republic. We are not!

  21. All Malaysians,

The above pics of TAB have become a landmark to his own personality, The sleeping giant from Malaysia. No doubt, TAB was right to say that M’sia is a bigger country and consists more races, cultures and religions than Singapore but that does not justify his saying Malaysia is a much more difficult situation than Singapore in terms of managing or running its administration.

Look at China, its huge. Look at US, Brazil or even our neighbouring countries like Thailand and Indonesia. Don’t you think these countries are bigger than Malaysia. Why is it they are booming economically and our country is on the verge of going bankrupt. Its the leader(s) who make the difference. LKY may not be the best leader around (?), but he knows well what he needed to do for his country and he knew how to get the right people to fit the right posts.

As for you, your one and only right person is your SIL. Mind you, our economy begun to slip down during your term in office and you have to be blamed.
    ________
Andrew, we expected too much out of an incompetent person. All you have to do is to ask his previous civil service bosses and former Minister of Sports and Culture, Tan Sri Hamzah Abu Samah to know how good Badawi was as a civil servant.–Din Merican
