Two PKR Leaders on Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor Bhd Board
Two PKR leaders have been appointed to the board of directors of the Selangor government-linked company Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor Bhd (KPSB). In a statement to Bursa Malaysia yesterday, the company announced that party vice-president R Sivarasa and Negri Sembilan chief Kamarul Baharin Abbas would be made independent and non-executive directors.
Sivarasa who is the Subang MP, is a lawyer by profession. Datuk Kamarul Baharin is the Teluk Kemang MP and sits on the party’s supreme council.
Kamarul Baharin has made his way up the corporate sector, starting his career as marketing executive with Nestle, before ending up as executive chairman of development firm Syarikat Tenaga Ehsan back in 1987.
KPSB is the infrastructure arm of the Selangor government’s investment vehicle, Kumpulan Darul Ehsan Berhad (KDEB).
KPSB, which owns water treatment firm Konsortium Abbas Sdn Bhd as well as other water producers, is a key player in the ongoing water concessionaire tussle between the Federal and state governments.

What is happening? PKR politicians are joining Boards as reward for loyalty to Anwar Ibrahim. Datuk Kamarul is known to be very critical of Khalid Ibrahim’s performance as Menteri Besar. Is there a change of heart? Is he being pacified by Anwar Ibrahim? If this Datuk from Telok Kemang is reading this blog, I would like to know from him what he can do as Director on KPSB.

I think appointing a naked man to sit on board of government link companies is a preemptive move by PKR to avoid another tadpole from maturing into adult frog. My question is who will guard the guard. Please be warned. Jangan harap pagar, pagar makan padi.

I felt that Kamarul should not be appointed because I got a feeling Kamarul might be the MB in NS. Sorry, PAS…..Kamarul seems more credible. Plus, if Pakatan Rakyat were to win Pahang, better put PKR folk as MB…..because not sure how would PAS feel when you have a PAS Pahang MB with a casino in Genting Highland……Problem man……Whatever setup can’t discard…..However, we don’t mind nationalised them

Simple. The first thing PAS should do is to ask Islamic Bank to buy into Genting Highlands as a major shareholder. The fact that the kafirs are gambling, they are already on their way to hell.. so it is alright managing their money now for the good of the ummah.

The difference between Investment and Gambling is a matter of degree and nuances . One used by economists and financiers and the other by religious fanatics.

Good for Hassan Merican. He will value add for Singapore, given his wide international exposure and experience. I do not doubt that he will be sitting on company boards in Malaysia. Congrats to the former PETRONAS CEO.–Din Merican

What’s the difference. PKR is just like UMNO.
Reward the favored, dethrone the unfavored.

Omigod. How can an Islamic Bank buys Genting Highland.
Muslims do not want money derived from gambling or drinking.
Dont you know that? HARAM

It is better for politicians to stay away from State owned companies. Already, these politicians are very busy and to take on the duties and responsibilities of being a director is ill-advised. Pakatan should not follow UMNO/BN practices in helping politicians with second and third income. This move to appoint Sivarasa and Kamarul Bahrin as independent directors at KPSB is a step in the wrong direction.

Is it true that Hassan Merican is appointed as independent director at SemCorp of Singapore? If yes, it is Semcorp’s gain and a major loss to Petronas. All the best to Hassan Merican.
I also read in Malaysiakini on June 17, 2010 article that even Hassan Merican viewed the ceding of Block L n M in Sarawak to Brunei is treason. http://www.malaysiakini.com/news/134783

Allah does not distinguish between money earned from gambling and money earned from prostitution, money earned from corruption and money earned from selling nasi lemak or money earned from selling beer (read San Miguel and Mahathir’s muslim son)
It is human beings who differentiate that. The value of the money is the same.
The money is NOT Haram. It is the action that is HARAM.
That is why the Arabs, the community from which Prophet Muhammad comes from have no qualms about going to casinos, or investing in casinos and make money out of it.
It is only non-Arab Muslims such as Pakistanis and Malaysian muslims who worry about money made from gambling. The Holy book says the action is haram, NOT the money.

Religious hypocrites. They pray one second and the next second they go out and steal the neighbour’s chicken. They sell the chickens to the 4-ekor loving chinese and then claim the money of these gamblers is haram.
