Dr. Jomo said that pink forms as rewards to cronies were the main reason for the stagnation of Malay’s equity. Now we have pink lips offering you help me, i help you. Nine years from now, what other pink we have to make the country sustainable.
I think, the 10MP contains interesting ideas, which we need to look at and discuss seriously. Comments like Tean’s are negative and will not help us move forward. Pink lips, so what. His policies matter.
I have been critical of Najib’s policies, but I think 10MP needs constructive comments from all of us as we face daunting challenges. I am sure our blog host wants us to contribute to the ongoing debate about the strategic direction for our country to be a high income economy by 2020 or beyond.
You and I on this blog are inconsequential to people like Najib and UMNO.
We are blowing hot air so that we feel good just before we go to sleep thinking, “Gee, I have just contributed my thoughts for the wellbeing of the country. The country will be in better shape now”.
Don’t kid yourself. I have never taken myself seriously on this blog.
Even the UMNO ministers and politicians don’t take Sakmongkol AK47 seriously despite he being a former UMNO ADUN and still having some political clout.
I am sharing my thoughts to while my time and making full use of my high speed broadband otherwise it is wasteful.
Write something on Din’s blog and then have a laugh that others bother to read what you read. That is what I doogs on bl, besides enjoying insulting others’ writings that I consider as outputs coming from infantile minds.
You should just write something on Din’s blog and then have a laugh that others bother to read what you write. That is what I do on blogs, besides enjoying insulting others’ writings that I consider as outputs coming from infantile minds.
Meanwhile Din will have thousands of hits and feeling good about his blog. Take John McEnroe’s advice, ” You can’t be serious!!!”
Seriously, as it is for now, we must be prepared to endorse the idea of having a two party system, without it we can’t be hopefully seeing anything out of something better to be taking place, in the next decades or so.
Totally agree with Frank…..Until all our dirty politicians (guess thats all of ‘em) sail away on a cruise towards the bermuda triangle, there’s really not much we can do.
Although I do sympathize with Encik Din, his vision of having a blog so concerned Malaysians can contribute with ideas and suggestions towards improving the dire straits of our country, is not meeting its mandate. Encik Din, thankfully has enormous patience and helpfully a good sense of humour to allow us to ramble on and fill his blog with our frustrations.
Ahmadi, if the PM didn’t bother to take the advice of some the country’s top economists to help prepare the 10MP, do you really think he’s going to be influenced by our friends here going by the name of Mr. Bean and Shrek. (And dont let those nom de plumes fool you – the folk you meet here are some of the brightest brains Malaysia HAD)
Instead of preaching to us, why dont you write an open letter to the PM, outlining your suggestions and recommendations on the 10MP and get it published in the NST and Utusan.
This song dedicated to you and all the commenters on Din’s blog, posted on behalf of PM Najib and UMNO-BN ministers, with a note of thank you included:
Here is a special APCO message conceived to be used by Najib and UMNO-BN Ministers for all the serious advice given by Din and his band of commenters on his blog on how to govern the country.

Who believe an economist these days! They talk and talk and criticize people. Let them manage, the whole economy goes into drain. They are good at theory only and after event criticism… They only talk when things happen and say I say so.. so…
Thanks, guys. Yes, I may get some kicks seeing the number of hits increasing by the day.
The exchanges here are read by those who matter in our country. I do not know whether our views listened to or not. Yes, I derive considerable pleasure in saying my piece. As Frank said, we are having fun through ideas and expression of views, hopefully with malice to none. I wear my own frustrations on my sleeve.
It is some consolation for me to know that when I meet young people, they tell me that they remember names like Frank, Bean, Menyalak-er, Tok Cik, Semper Fi and others. We are being listened to by readers on this blog who unfortunately do not make policy. They are voters, and leaders and politicians who ignore voters do so at their own peril.–Din Merican

Tough luck. If you don’t trust or you don’t like economists, you better take the next shuttle and live on Mars or on the Moon.
Whether you like it or not, they rule your life… they decide the price of groceries you put on the table and they decide the amount of interest you get in your bank account and the amount of interest your credit card charges you. Hey, they even decide the cost of your wedding dinner and marriage.
So, go and whinge and complain about how bad the economist destroys your life, to your cat or dog.Or go outside your house, and tell it to the birds.

Ooooh … it’s nice of you to say that, sweetie. It’d be nicer if we could meet if only to share a kueh bangkit or two. This is one Melayu who doesn’t need steroids to bangkit. I have a firm plan for you.
frank:no, not economists who decide on these things, but market forces(involvng TNCs, investors like u and me, etc), supra-nationals and government policies.
An economist can just be a guy with an economics degree, ya’ know.
Mergers between Muslims and non-Muslims are legal if the woman is from the Abrahamic faith. If you’re a follower of Lord Buddha it can be a little tricky. But as they say the taste of the pudding is in the eating. And I intend to eat to my heart’s content. Well, maybe not the heart.

But they are i.e. making money out of the oldest profession, and they have been at it for a very long time. Do you really think this mushrooming of health centers and karaoke lounges (to use their sanitized labels so as not to expose the goings-on behind closed doors between two consenting adults which is nobody’s business but their own) and more recently spas, over the years is all about the thirst for profits that drives capitalism? Or has anything to do with the convoluted squirting of ideas by Mahathir of lame Marxist ideas on class struggle?
It takes me back to that one time when I had my manhood stroked by gentle hands unaware or oblivious to the fact that gentle hands don’t necessarily or need to belong to gentle bodies. Regular customers who were in different stages of blindness told me never to let what you see deceive you into thinking what is you don’t see. Deceived I was but pleasantly so. I managed, however, to save my eyesight.
Malaysia’s joke of an economist laments over the fact that Malaysia has been overtaken by countries like Singapore and Hong Kong over the issue of Islamic banking and Islamic products, a field Malaysia once led the world. This reminds me of the time UMNO was making forays into the field of hotel, tourism and travel industry in the 80s gobbling up everything that stood in their way, the way Pac-Man was doing in video games then. Except that they cannot figure out how to ‘islamize’ the illegal proceeds from the sale of liquor by the beverage departments of these hotels. “Simple” said a friend then because all they needed to do, according to him, was to ‘jampi’ and voila! Things illegal (haram) according to Muslim tenets would then become legal. Wow! It is that simple. How come nobody thought of it?
Apparently it failed to convert the unconverted and the same issue i.e. converting legal proceeds of illegal activities has come back to bite the ass of some of our leaders. The fact that such an illegal activity has been parceled out to an infidel has apparently failed to make such legal proceeds of illegal activities more palatable to their Muslim constituents.
Time to spruce up the menu with more exotic language maybe?

It’s all about the laws of supply and demand. As long as there is a demand for the services the enterprenuer will always find a legit way to supply. No demand and the supply will dry up.
