Zahrain’S Resignation: KeADILan Has No Place For Opportunists

February 12, 2010

LATHEEFA KOYA ,Information Chief, Parti KeADILan Rakyat : Press Statement

Parti KeADILan Rakyat views the resignation of Bayan Baru MP Dato Seri Zahrain Mohd Hashim with regret but not surprised, and recognises it as part of a necessary streamlining process to ensure that the party and its coalition partners in Pakatan Rakyat are best positioned to serve the people in the future.

Zahrain’s resignation is clearly a pre-emptive move as he is facing a disciplinary proceeding following his recent press attacks on Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng, and it is likely that he would have been sacked had he been found guilty. A show cause letter had been issued to him on 8th February 2010 requesting him to respond by 12th February 2010.

Parti KeADILan Rakyat recognises its duty to uphold the will of the people as expressed by the voters at the March 8, 2008 general election. Its stance is clear. Those who do not believe in the struggle for social and economic justice are not welcome in the party. The painful process of weeding out opportunists will have great long-term benefits to truly effect change in Malaysia.

This comes at a time when the party is facing many challenges because the ruling Barisan Nasional views it as a clear threat to its thus far unbroken hold on power. These challenges include the current trial of PKR leader Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim on a unjust charge. At this time of increased pressure, those who are lacking in commitment may waver and leave the party, betraying the rakyat who elected them and exposing their true agenda.

However the party is determined to continue to hold its representatives accountable to the mandate entrusted to them by the people.

  1. It is also a place of scant opportunities.

  2. Let this pain in the ass go. Better he leaves now than wreck havoc to the party in the future. Get others like him to leave as well. These monkeys don’t appreciate the rakyat’s aspirations. All they know is money and more money. Umno is where the money is. Go to them. Good riddance.

  3. The main in the street will not bother much about this particular minor irritant , but that arrogant hypocrite called Kulim Z, still on the loose running wild and free

He seems to be AI’s Achilles heel for some reason, and people are extremely disapppointed and regard AI now with suspicion.

    What happened Mr Anwar?

  4. Haha…very good at least we have less two fingers in Anwar’s blanket. Zahrain, you can go fly kites. If you need a friend please fetch Zulkifli in Kulim to go with you as soon as possible.

We must celebrate this news and consider it as ang pow for CNY.

  5. After Zahrain, who would be next and how many more will be stupid and naive enough to follow in his footsteps and abandon PR’s change agenda for Freedom, Democracy and Justice?

Zulkifli Noordin is seen as the next quitter. But I do not think so; he would rather be sacked by PKR so that he is seen in his constituency of Kulim-Bandar at least as a Defender of the Faith (a description thus far applied to England’s Henry VIII) than resign of his own violition. Who is the smarter politician of the two, Mr. Z and Mr ZN?

Wee Chee Keong? That is an opportunist if there is really any greater one. This ex-DAP person is as unpredictable as the English weather. He is a close buddy of Mr. Z. Will he take the plunge and lose his credibility?. Not likely. But politics being politics, who can say. I think there must be a sweetheart deal if he is to make his move. Being a member of the Malaysian Delegation to last year’s UN General Assembly is not enough to tempt him to switch sides. He is too smart an operator.

On the other hand, Mr. Z is too emotional and rash–maybe stupid is a better word– when he decided to become pro-BN independent MP. The people of Bayan Baru ought to feel cheated knowing how hard Mr. Z campaigned against UMNO-BN in the 2008 General Elections. His close friends are shocked by his action.

There will not be an exodus following Bayan Baru Mr. Z’s action. Again, some people think the MP for Balik Pulau, lawyer Yusmadi might also follow suit. But this dynamic young and US trained lawyer is too rational to walk into the well of political folly and end his promising political career premature. He is in the ranks of Nurul Izzah, Nik Nazmi, Sim Tze Sin and Malik Kassim as PKR loyalists. I admire Malik Kassim who is working hard despite many frustrations and poor treatment he got from Anwar Ibrahim.

  6. This is one downright Opportunist, no doubt about it. He can go to Hell.

  7. Z? No loss, not a smart flur ‘cos to much inbreedind with umno sense of entitlement.

ZN? A proverbial toxic thorn in PKRs paw. Let him go. He will join up with Z to form the third force – i.e. Nada Liberation Front (NLF).

TBTan? Sourpuss, criticize and holey damnation. Ego bigger than his brain. Will do well sitting next to Ibrahim Ali, but i think he’s chicken. No future there.

CKWee? An even bigger ego, with no ergo… Self serving master of the universe. Let him sit on top of Perkasa, instead of barking and sniping at PR Selangor and god knows what else.

However, don’t you think it’s time to bring in the SAPP people into PR? TL Yong, time to wake up! Sabah is more important.

  8. “Let this pain in the ass go.” Tok Cik

    I respectfully disagree.

I say let’s not force him to take his thumb out of his ass.

  9. Tok Chik, you’re right – good riddence to bad rubbish! It’s high time that PKR does its spring cleaning in preparation for the next GE. These ticks and mites can cause scabies for PKR/PR. So get rid of these parasites fast before it’s too late.

  10. The next thing you know LGE will say he has converted to islam emulating the legendary Cheng Ho.

Now this will make the Malayan Malays jaw dropped.

In a passive society like ours it is easy to gain favours or dis-favours . The only thing one needs to do is harp on religous and racial sentiments.
