The Trouble with Islamo-Tribalism

Mustafa Ayol: The Trouble with Islamo-Tribalism

Nasty things are happening in Malaysia. Eight Christian churches have been vandalised or burnt just over the last weekend. Thank God, nobody has been hurt, yet, but the terror unleashed is terrifying enough for the Christian minority of this overwhelmingly Muslim nation.

Also thank God that the attacks were the work of a fanatic minority among Muslim Malays. Many others, including government spokesmen, denounced the barbarism. Some volunteers from Muslim nongovernmental organisations have even begun patrolling churches to protect them from possible future attacks. This is, of course, commendable.

Yet still, I think that Malays should deal not just with the radical symptoms of the problem. They should also deal with the problem itself.

A copyright of God?

The problem itself is a “copyright issue,” as Marina Mahathir, a Malay commentator, rightly put it. Christians in the country have been using the word “Allah” to refer to God in their services and publications, whereas the Malays believe that they have a monopoly on it. Hence the Muslim-dominated government recently put a ban on non-Muslims using the term. Yet last month the High Court overturned the ban. And hell broke lose.

As a Turkish Muslim, I strongly disagree with my Malaysian coreligionists who disagree with the Christians. The word “Allah” simply means “The God” in Arabic, and Arab Christians have been using it for centuries without any trouble. In Turkey, too, Bibles published by Turkish Christians used to have the term “Allah” until the recent “modernisation” in their discourse. The change is their choice, and none of our business.

Most Muslims, in other words, don’t have a problem with hearing the word “Allah” from non-Muslim theists. And this is how it should be, because the Koran repeatedly says that Muslims worship the same God with Jews and Christians. “We believe in the revelation which has come down to us and in that which came down to you,” a verse orders Muslims to tell these fellow monotheists. “Our God and your God is one.”

Whence, then, comes the Malay possessiveness of Allah? The Malaysian government argues that making Allah synonymous with God may “confuse Muslims and ultimately mislead them into converting to Christianity.” Wow, what a great sign of self-confidence. Why don’t they rather think, one wonders, that the same thing might ultimately “mislead” Christians into converting to Islam.

Besides the obvious immaturity, what is really disturbing to me here is how Allah, the “Lord of Mankind” according to the Koran, is reduced to something like a tribal deity.

This was all too obvious in the slogan of the protesters at the mosques of Kuala Lumpur: “Allah,” they said, “is only for us.”

But who do you think you are, one should ask. Who gives you the authority to claim that the name of God of all men is your private property? The answer, as you can guess, lies not in theology but politics. As a piece by Gwynne Dyer, “In the Name of Allah” explained well, the Muslim Malays, despite making up 60 percent of Malaysia, “feel perpetually insecure.” They worry that if their numbers in population decrease so will their dominant role in the country .

Hence comes Malaysia’s tyrannical bans on apostasy from Islam, limitations on mixed marriages, and the current obsession with the Christians’ language. The main intention behind these is the preservation of the dominance, and the “purity,” of a certain political community – say, a big tribe. (The medieval Islamic ban an apostasy, which has no basis in the Koran, was similarly a product of political motives.)

But pursuing the perceived interests of a political community that happens to be Muslim, is not the same thing with upholding the religious values that God has bestowed on Muslims. The difference between the two is subtle but crucial. It is the difference between serving God, and making God serve us.

Jihad, victory and empire

The latter motivation, I suspect, is imperative in the makeup of the self-righteous, authoritarian and violent movements in the contemporary Muslim world. These movements always strive for some victory, some political dominance, which will elevate their very selves above all other men.

The words of Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, the 23-year-old Nigerian who tried to blow up a passenger airliner near Detroit two weeks ago, are quite telling. “I imagine how the great jihad will take place,” he reportedly said, “how the Muslims will win … and rule the whole world, and establish the greatest empire once again!!!”

The yearning for glory here is not too different from what a revolutionary communist expects from the dictatorship of the proletariat, or what a chauvinist expects from an imperialist agenda that will make his nation the master of the world.

The Muslim thing to do, however, is to be more humble, modest and openhearted. The Koran tells Muslims that they are supposed to be “the best community that has been raised up for mankind.” Yet they really can’t serve that purpose if they begin by despising the rest of mankind, and claiming an ownership of God. hurriyetdailynews.com

  1. Interesting and useful comments from Mustafa Ayol, a journalist-commentator in Turkey. It is a must read for UMNO leaders like Hishamuddin and others who are trying to use the Allah issue to divert our attention away from the many unresolved problems in our country. They hope we will forget them. No way.

Heed this advice on how to deal with this Allah issue, and ignore it at your own peril: “The Muslim thing to do, … is to be more humble, modest and openhearted. The Koran tells Muslims that they are supposed to be “the best community that has been raised up for mankind.” Are we, Malaysian Muslims? –Din Merican

  2. Why can’t you guys get it?

It is not over the use of the word ‘Allah’. And it is nothing like a copyright issue as suggested by Marina. It seems like it is over the use of the word ‘Allah’. That’s what it looks to many whose preference for simple solutions to a complex issue is understandable.

It is UMNO making a political statement. They want,if they can, to stop all Christian missionary activities in states like Sabah where Christianity has gained a strong foothold like it never did elsewhere in Malaysia. They have been doing it for years. Missionaries find it hard to get a visa and in the past. Missionaries have been asked to leave at short notice because they were accused to have contravened the terms of their work visa.

  3. In United States a Judea-Christian nation, it is in common usage. The word ‘Allah’ refers to the God of the Muslims. American Muslims use Allah to refer to (their) God and Christians refer to Jesus as son of God. Why split hairs??

It is UMNO making a political statement. It is the Roman Catholic Church of Sabah that opens the floodgates by taking the issue to court. It is the court that has decided to add fuel to fire by continuing the controversy.

Now the fire rages with no sign of abating any time soon without political intervention. Guess who will come out the winner in all this? It is not difficult to figure that one out.

  4. “The medieval Islamic ban an apostasy, which has no basis in the Koran, was similarly a product of political motives.”

It is political Islam that is the problem.

But then Islam is more than just a religion. It is a way of life. It is an ideology and when a modern nation state like multiracial and religious Malaysia makes it into an official religion, it is pointless to put up artificial roadblocks.

  5. Why is it that Muslims around the world have no problems with Christians using the word Allah but in Malaysia, Allah is monopolized. Unfortunately since the dawn of time, religion has been used to manipulate people so certain quarters can stay in power.

This is another issue that has been blown out of proportion to cover up the ills that Malaysia is facing.

  6. It is part of a larger problem.

It is the decision not to allow Malays to be proselytized by Christians. It is a constitutional issue rigged with controversy over the years that BN has been in power.

I have yet to see a statement issued by Pakatan that they would allow the Malays to choose their own religion. It is after all an exercise of their free speech right. Why allow free speech to non-Malays and deny Malays of the same?? There are reportedly thousands of Malays who are Christians in their belief and convictions who have been denied of their right to choose their own religion. It is inconceivable that out of some 60% of a population of 27 million today that there are no Malays (however they are constitutionally defined) who are not Muslims.

  7. “…Malays should deal not just with the radical symptoms of the problem. They should also deal with the problem itself.”

UMNO is the problem. Remove it and all will be well.
I have one question for those who have copyrighted Allah.

If Allah is God of all creations how is that you have made Him so small that he is only God of Muslims in Malaysia. Why can’t His other creatures call Him Allah?
If he is only for Muslims in Malaysia than He cannot be the Almighty God.
Get the drift you UMNO idiots?

  8. When you mix politics with religion the result is almost always what is unfolding before our eyes. And it will not get better until we decide that, however difficult it may be, we have to devise ways to put the genie back into the bottle. There is no other way.

  9. Easier said than done, Isa Manteqi.

It means shredding our federal constitution and in its place put something new and different. What are the chances of that happening even with Pakatan in control of Putrajaya??

  10. We have been dealing with the same constitution. There was no problem under Tunku, Razak and Hussein. Why now? What gives?

  11. The cry of “Allahu Akbar” of a suicide bomber before he explodes himself or herself is a cry no non-Muslims would want to be caught verbalizing. No pastor in his right mind would want to use the word ‘Allah’ to refer to God in his weekly sermon or in private.

It is true Indonesian pastors in their churches in the U.S. use the words “Tuhan Allah” to refer to God and ‘Jesus Kristus” and ‘roh’. No American Muslims have voiced their opposition.

  12. To the non-muslims i’ve this to say,

It’s the consequences of using the term ‘Allah’ more than anything else that is the cos of concern.
It’s not too much about exclusive rights or whether the word ‘Allah had been ‘patented’ by Islam with licence to decide who gets to use it and who does not.

    And

As a follower of the islamic faith , I would like to remind my fellow muslims that , Allah is the arabic word for God and therefore if there was something written in English and it said God, would we be as offended or offended at all?
We need to ask ourselves that before we cause a ruckus. Allah is the arabic word for God, it’s upto the individual person which God they believe in.

  13. The problem in part is the historical context of this word. I shall not belabor you with that.

It has more to do with deep seated disenchantment of Bible (in Indonesian) seizures and of denial of proselyzing, not to Muslims but to animists and those of other religions such as the Jahuts and other Orang Asli.

Yes it has been politicized, everybody knows that, including the moderate Muslims. While Mr. Bean thinks that is to the advantage of the ruling coalition, i know otherwise. There is no way to stuff the proverbial genie back, but there is a way to remove djinns.
The Court of Appeal’s decision either way will not solve this problem, because , this transcends Law. They will lose the East.

SIB has come out with a very strong statement that they will not let it pass, and neither will the RCC. Protestants like me who don’t use the word will act according to our conscience and it will be no go for Be-end, as you cannot cover the stench of shit, no matter how many durians you put on it.
    Enough is enough.

  14. ” To the non-muslims i’ve this to say .. ” danildaud

It only concerns the Indonesian Christians part of a segment of the non-Muslim society. They want to be able to use the words ‘Tuhan Allah’ and ‘roh kudus’ for Holy Spirit.

The rest of us are just making political fodder out of it.

  15. When Muslim elsewhere in the world say that it is not a problem to use the word “Allxh” in any language which has the term “Allxh” as found in the Malay and Sikh languages, the echo from Bolehland come back loudly: “Our landscape is different from other countries. Malays here are different from other countries” say much of the infantility and arrogance of the UMNOputras.

What these UMNOputras (they always love drag the Malays into their stupidity) are telling the world is that they have a patent on Allxh. This is a fascist and arrogant stand. Now if they can become the master and manipulator of Allxh himself what other prohibitions would you think they can whimsically impose even on fellow Muslims who oppose their hegemony?

This had already happened in the past. The Sunni Islam of the Shafi’i school of thought is the official, legal form in Malaysia and there are strict policies against other Islamic sects including Shia Islam. Some notable sects that have been outlawed are the Al-Arqam and the Teapot Sky kingdom movements, and just a few years back UMNO tried to petition to the Agong to ban PAS.

In the case of Al-Arqam the movement was tolerated for many years because they have supported UMNO with their votes. In return they were allowed to run businesses that have been very successful in Malaysia, Thailand and other parts of Southeast Asia. But one fatal mistake: Ashaari Mohammad the leader was boasted as saying, “Who is Mahathir? I’m more popular than him” led to the banning of the movement on the grounds for being a threat to Islam. Similarly when UMNO was pushed to the ropes by PAS, they were declared to be a threat to Islam.

Thus this current spate of banning of the word “Allxh” portends a much more dangerous agenda towards the path of fascism and tyranny of the godless UMNOputras and the priesthood of Islam Hadhari to strangle the dignity of Christians and Muslims alike. Even ethnic Malays who oppose UMNO were declared as traitors and not Malays anymore.

Be forewarned of this danger from the UMNOputras and its priesthood that aspire to be the master of “Allxh”.

  16. The verdict in the court of public opinion among muslims and no non muslims in the country and around the world is pretty clear:

The Allah issue was politicised by UMNO to entrench power after March 8 election by engaging in highly dangerous divisive politics of RACE AND RELIGION

And the BTN courses of UMNO have ingrained into the young minds of the Malay undergraduates and secondary students and newly recruited Malay public services about “Bangsa dan Agama” bullshit over the years. And these young Malays have become the foundation members of the ULTRA MALAY NGOs and the MUSLIM BLOGGERS ALLIANCE now you see and hear on TV demonstrating on the street with headbands and banners.

The political parasites in UMNO are now feeding in frenzy these once-innocent young Malay minds, who will feed the same obnoxious ideas to their children.

UMNO has destroyed to the core the very decency of the Malay community, a proud and genial community of tradition of social grace, humility, sopan santun, sama berhormat, and respect,a community well-regarded by others in the country and outside.

UMNO has exposed the dark side of humanity, of greed, of fear, of predatory instincts among the Malay community, and this is fed through UMNO’s social engineering through primary schools, secondary schools and university. And that was not enough, UMNO had to resort to vocational courses such as the debased and heinous BTN courses.

While this carnage by UMNO onto the Malaysian society is being pursued relentlessly , MCA the socalled senior partner and MIC, the sole representative of Indians ( Hindus, Christians and Catholics) and the that castrated champion of egalitarian society, Gerakan, look on, blind and deaf.

So, the Chinese, the Catholicis, the Protestant, and the Indians and the Sikhs, should also pour their anger on MCA, MIC and Gerakan as much.

To kill off UMNO, Malaysian voters especially the Chinese MUST kill off MCA and Indians and Sikhs, to make MIC a redundant party.

There is NO other way to kill off UMNO. Once there is NO other party in Peninsular representing the Chinese and Indians in BN, UMNO is irrelevant as a Malay-based party.

For you chaps out there, the NON MUslims and the Christians, Buddhists, Hindus and Sikhs, go out and tell your friends, neighbours and relatives far and wide, to STOP voting MCA and MIC ( Gerakan is already dead) and I mean to make sure NOT ONE MCA or MIC candidate is elected at all.

If that can be done, UMNO is dead permanently!!!!

And that will be the start of the end of race-based parties

Don’t worry about atheists, they all vote PAS.

  17. My advice to the Christians (Chinese and Indians) :

If YOU hate UMNO, then DON’T VOTE for any candidate in MCA and MIC and GERAKAN.

For the East Malaysian Christians, just remember the “Allah” issue each time your brains get screwed up thinking about voting for those UMNO-friendly small parties.

No point continuing to vent anger at UMNO, leave that problem to the more enlightened Malays (not all of them are the elite intelligentsia and the educated, by the way).

The Christians should go out and do the leg work to all your friends, neighbours, relatives far and wide to discredit MCA and MIC ( you know the reasons) so that there won’t be any BN and therefore will result in UMNO to die a humiliating slow death ( and these pariah UMNO parasites can go to heaven and visit the 72 virgins).

Telll your “shalom greeting congregation” every Sunday, it is UMNO that is not allowing your God Jehovah to be called Allah by your Bahasa speaking Christians and UMNO did not like the idea of you talking your Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

And if your children become Muslims, and when they die UMNO wants to make sure UMNO’s Jakim take your children’s body away from you, and their property goes to the Muslim Ummah.

You Christians can help to destroy UMNO, not by demonising UMNO, but by NOT voting for MC and MIC.

Did you get it? NO? Go pray some more to see the light from heaven </blockquote)

  18. Here a trek down memory lane to immediately after March 2008 election:

Specially dedicated to those who still want to vote MCA:

  19. But we have yet to come out with a viable alternative to Barisan. PAS is jut playing along for the time being. That’s common knowledge.

Pakatan is still very much a rag tag band of renegades on the war path. Their leaders could smell blood in the water but that’s all there is to it.

  20. Frank, that was a very insightful and pointed analysis of the situation in our country.
The Malays are a very pleasant people, very accommodating and God fearing. They were described as ‘nature’s gentlemen’. Indeed they were.

These were the Malays I grew up with since the 1940s but alas today they drag a bloody cow-head, burn churches and spew venom at other races. Why have they turned so ugly, inhuman and unIslamic?
Because UMNO transformed these Malays from beauty to beast.

Thank God, the majority who are outside UMNO are still cultured and civilized as their grandparents.

  21. “…Pakatan is still very much a rag tag band of renegades on the war path.” -Mr. Bean

Correct correct correct. Spot on, Mr. Bean

  22. That brings into mind my old buddy V.K. Lingam whose taste for the good life is limited to cheap red wine.

  23. Cheap red wine is higher class than cheap samsu haram. Your friend ada class la Bean. Danil, Menyalak-er and Frank and yours truly still prefer tuak.

  24. But drinking ‘orang puteh punya tuak’ doesn’t make you an orang puteh laa.

  25. Gimee Maria Ozawa anytime and the Japanese in me would come storming!

  26. I disagree that this is a political problem caused by UMNO. It is simply a natural and modern progression of Islam everywhere globally when there is unparalleled fanatical propensity to devalue humanity in the name of religion.

  27. It goes to show Religion sucks. It should have been abolished from humanity’s journey through life

I need not repeat why as I have made my case pretty well on Din’s blog over last few months.

  28. It it obvious that Umno is desperately trying to hang on to power, by hook or by crook. They thought they can manipulate the Muslims to achieve their aim.
Thank God that the majority of Muslims didn’t fall into their trap except for a few displaced souls. It’s not about religion. If they are really religious as they claimed to be, how is it they keep stealing from us and are so racist in their outlook?
I don’t think people that them will actually go to heaven. If they do, then do we really want to go there? No, I think these people will go to hell. The sooner the better.

  29. Frank,

You made your case pretty well, but your tuak is yours. Bean prefers his sake and his Kobe beef. Article 11 of the supreme law applies.

  30. Top of the day Guys/Gals, hmm…, seems that some ‘threats’ to Batu Caves Hindu Temple this morning. Spreading like wildfire? No, smoldering like a peat swamp fire – impossible to put out once started unless it pours buckets from ‘heaven’ where Mother Theresa, is watching over a hoard of virgins (why virgin? M.Ozawa types better).

No worries Frank, the Nons ain’t gonna vote the aforesaid bumno accomplices unless the males get their virgins here and now, and the women 72 gigolos (is this how it works?). Whatever you say about religion, Tean has got it right about the temporal yearnings!

Not a fault of umno and ‘natural’ progression, james?? Boy, what’s in your diet nowadays. Where else in the world would churches, Sikh gudwaras and Hindu temples become targets of oppurtunity? Heck, they would target the Taoist and Buddhist temples too, if they were not so dependent on the gravy train from MCA and Chinese megacorporates. With few exceptions, these megacorps are owned by “Christians”, who are pretty silent.

  31. Hi Menyalak-er

Malaysian Christians — no rash response to the provocations.

Malaysian Sikhs — no rash response to the provocations.

Malaysian Hindus — will not get a rash response either.

In the Internet age, its getting harder and harder for the minority of people with bad intentions to play the race-religion-language card! I remain optimistic about the Malaysian “rainbow nation” nation-building project. :)

  32. Absolutely, Dr. Phua.
So now they are resorting to ‘paint splashing’ as per Church in Johor and maybe trashing Derek Fernandez’s and other lawyer’s office.
Yes, our optimism (not of the current gomen, but of the people) will prevail. To be honest, as long as there is no loss of human life/health, we shall take this with a touch of humour about such acts of “terror”. I guess all churches will now have to paint the outer walls ‘blood red’ to save costs in repainting.
It will be quite interesting to see dear leader Jibby answering all the tough questions by His Excellency Manmohan Singh and Mdm. Sonia Gandhi, a Vatican tigress. As usual he will try talking about 39k lost Chennai’ans, while keeping mum on the 4 mill. data-less Indons.

  33. Frank,

It is not religion ! It is the monkeys in the midst that is causing the mischief and havoc !! :)
So what is the solution ? Put them back in the zoo where threy belong !!!

  34. The Bible may have been written by different writers at different times but it is divine inspired. At least Frank you could study the Bible as a literary work, a historical account of events dating back some two thousands five hundred years. You could learn to appreciate as a piece of literature. For others who look upon the Bible as a book of faith it does not matter if the books were written by different scribes at different times in history not necessarily during their own times. It does not matter if the narratives have been combined giving rise to different interpretations.

Moses couldn’t have written the first five books in the Bible that make up the Torah. How could he have known his own death?? But does it matter?

  35. It does not matter there are more than one version of creation. It does not matter if God had created Man in his own image and what that exactly means. It is a book of faith studied by millions over thousands of years, interpreted and misinterpreted, understood and misunderstood.

  36. “…It is the monkeys in the midst that is causing the mischief and havoc !!” –ocho onda

Ahhhh! Religion makes monkeys out of them. I said so, so many times. They don’t go amok, parade cowheads, burning churches, if not for Religion.

    They are angels without Religion.

  37. Those who are familiar with the biblical account of the Tower of Babel knows why God punished mankind by introducing different languages to confuse mankind. So today some two thousand five years later, Malaysians are confused as to who has the right to use the word ‘Allah’.

The God of the Old Testament is a punishing God unlike the God of the New Testament who is merciful and forgiving.

  38. Me?? I prefer the company of Ms. Maria Ozawa and the comfort that it brings.

  39. Or perhaps the more appropriate term of description should be dogs.
And talking about dogs, there was a big debate on here about the banning dogs of the so called dangerous breed – rottweilers, bull terriers, etc from from their confined spaces because of the high incidences of attacks on the public.

However, the idea was scrapped when the government was convinced that the intended targets should have been the dog handlers and owners per se, not the poor dogs.

It has been proven conclusively that all dogs are not natural born killers and they they became killers only after being subjected to rigorous harmful training and indoctrination to inculcate intended behavioural change !

  40. And I will let it rest ! :)

  41. “Moses couldn’t have written the first five books in the Bible that make up the Torah.” -Mr. Bean

Even Jewish scholars and archaeologists doubt if the Moses as known in the Torah, the Bible and Quran ever existed. READ HERE The Encyclopaedia Judaica questions Moses’s existence yet we have more than 2 billion “intelligent people” still think Moses as described in the Quran/Bible/Torah existed.

One enduring view is that Moses was a transfigured figure of Akhenatan, the Egyptian Pharaoh (don’t forget, the Jews believe their ancestors came from Eygypt, and Allah split the waters of the Red Sea and let Ishmael’s rival descendants to cross over and invade and rob the Caannites of land and then claim that Allah gave it to them after Allah made them wander for 40 years in the wilderness carrying that radio active Ark of Covenant.)

Those who want to expand their knowledge about Moses beyond reading and living their lives based on the myths in the Torah/Bible/Quran READ HERE and HERE. a good account with photos and writeup

The less they read all these mythical books, the less they will run amok and parade with cowheads, suicide bombings and having a long running crusades with Crosses and Swords hanging together on horses against the muslims in the mediaval ages , and Hindus in India would not kick out the Muslim Indians to form a separate nation called Pakistan .

And then having people similar culturally (Pakistanis and Indians) pointing nuclear weapons at each other, ALL because of differences in RELIGION.

We are fortunate those Malay muslims burning churches and parading the cowheads had no hidden nuclear hand grenade or radioactive wastes hidden with them, otherwise the non Muslims better convert to Islam fast.

  42. correction

  43. “It does not matter if God had created Man in his own image and what that exactly means.” – Mr. Bean

The fact is Man made God in his image.
.. where does God get all these attributes from: hate, anger, revenge, you vs me, they vs us, blood shedding (starting with Abraham’s son, conditional love (otherwise hell awaits you), there is a Son, mortals call God, Father, and up there there are 72 Virgins

Virgins???, I thought in God’s world up there is no sex, you don’t die, you don’t pro-create, no sexual passion, no agriculture to grow cotton to wear clothes, up there you don’t eat to survive, you live forever, presumably at the age or form you died. If you died at 80, you are 80 years forever in heaven and if you died a 2 year old, you are two years old forever in heaven. You are not supposed to age anymore in heaven, right??

    NO???

I am not debunking Religion, just trying to understand the myths and the nonsense being taught to our 5-10 year olds.

  44. When he says that Malaysians have been living in harmony all this while until this point in time because of mutual respect of different religions … he just pointed out that those who have brought up the issue use of ‘Allah’ are exactly the source of the racial discord!

  45. “When he says that Malaysians have been living in harmony all this while until this point in time because of mutual respect of different religions” – adamrustam

The truth is this UMNO-led Govt did NOT respect other religions. There was harmony was because those in the other religions did NOT kick up a fuss, or go to the streets to protest, they took it quietly and meekly, in the interest of the nation and country.

It was the believers in other religion that kept their own council for which this artificial “harmony” was sustained over the last 30 years while the pariah UMNO Malays kept bullying believers of other religion using the instruments of power of govt.

The non Muslim believers only tolerated the bullying by the pariah UMNO Malays who virtually on walk and stepped on (epitomised by the cowhead protest) at believers of other religions. The pariah UMNO Malays condoned and allowed the UMNO pariah bureaucrats’ with little respect, to bulldoze down Hindu temples by the hundreds.

So it is a bundle of bullshit pushed out by the pariah UMNO Malays about this “respect” crap by this UMNO-led Govt for other religions long before this Allah issue came up.

The pariah UMNO Malays bullied people in other religion into silence. Christians were forced to rent shop lots because the pariah UMNO malays refuse to allow more churches to be built. The pariah UMNO Malays even demonstrated against the peaceful relocation of the hindu temple and rewarded by Hishammudin with sympathy with the cowhead protesters.

Come on, don’t take non Muslims in Malaysia as a bunch of idiots to say that UMNO MALAYS RESPECT OTHER RELIGIONS. See what happend to Lina Joy who wanted to become a Christian, What about those body snatching by those Jakim thugs? Those Hindu families who lost their children due to conversion all under the watch of this UMNO-led Govt..

Go and spill those UMNO garbage somewhere else.

  46. Has anyone watched the video clip on youtube above? Forgive my ignorance, but can someone explain to me what Khairul Faiz Morat said in the interview that ‘Allxh’ is higher than God? Frankly, while watching the video, in my opinion, he didn’t seem to answer the questions at all, but rather he was evading them. Maybe he didn’t understand the questions at all. But please, can someone enlighten me about this ‘Allxh’ being higher than God? So what is ‘Allxh’?

  47. ” Also thank God that the attacks were the work of a fanatic minority among Muslim Malays …”

For a lawyer this guy is shockingly naive. “Work of a fanatic minority”? He would have us believed that a few unemployed and clueless (as to what they are doing) individuals paid RM100 to throw petrol bombs at some doors constitute ” a fanatical minority’.?? Pleeeaze ….
