Negri Sembilan Politics: Making Way for Isa Samad?
Negri UMNO Warloads seek to unseat Menteri Besar
By Adib Zalkapli( November 29, 2009)
Negri Sembilan UMNO warlords are using allegations of an illegal money transfer to unseat the unpopular Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, whose aides denied the mentri besar is under central bank probe.
“We believe that there is no point letting the issue being exploited by the opposition, the leadership must take action, now we are just waiting for the president’s return,” a Negri Sembilan division chief told The Malaysian Insider.
UMNO president Datuk Seri Najib Razak is now attending the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) 2009 in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.
Mohamad, who became mentri besar in 2004, is currently under Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) probe for allegedly transferring funds amounting to RM10 million to London through a money changer, Salamath Ali. An aide to Mohamad said the BNM probe has nothing to do with his employer. “The investigation is against the money changer and not against Datuk,” the aide told The Malaysian Insider.
The Malaysian Insider understands that Mohamad has privately blamed his staff for making him use the services of the money changer.
Pakatan Rakyat’s Batu MP Chua Tian Chang revealed the matter after the central bank said Salamath Ali Money Changer had contravened Section 30 of the Money Changing Act 1998 and its licence had been revoked on October 26.
State UMNO warlords are making their moves now to prevent the issue from being further exploited by the opposition. “He is already not liked by 80 per cent of the UMNO members here, so this case will not be ignored,” said the division chief.
The state Umno warlord pointed out that despite the blackout by the English and Bahasa Malaysia mainstream press, the issue has found its way to the party grassroots via text messages.
“UMNO members in Jempol, Kuala Pilah, Rembau they don’t access the Internet, so initially only civil servants talked about it, later people started sending SMS on ‘kes duit haram MB’,” he said.
Mohamad came under fire from Negri Sembilan opposition leader Loke Siew Fook during the state assembly sitting over the issue but the Rantau assemblyman kept mum and refused to give an explanation.
Opposition lawmakers have also called on the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to conduct a probe into the scandal. Mohamad had also refused to talk about the matter openly at a press conference early this month.
From The Malaysian Insider (November 30, 2009):
“(Negri Sembilan MB)Mohamad had avoided answering questions about the transaction from DAP lawmaker Anthony Loke in the Negri Sembilan state assembly sitting last week. But he cannot stay silent for long, now that the knives are out for him in his own party.
Yesterday, The Malaysian Insider reported that Negri Sembilan UMNO warlords are using allegations of the illegal money transfer to unseat the unpopular Mohamad.”

Poetic justice for a thief. Unfortunately, he’ll be replaced by a bigger thief.

The spirit of expectation, of anticipation, of preparation, of longing is upon us. There is a yearning for deliverance from the evils of the world …. It is the cry of those who have experienced the tyranny of injustice in a world under the curse of sin, and yet who have hope of deliverance by a God who has heard the cries of oppressed slaves and brought deliverance!
Today marks the First Day of Advent.

Yes, more of this kind of exposure by PR onto the public domain. Put the pressure on UMNO. Time to put UMNO-BN on a defensive.

I am told MB Mohamed Hassan is one of Khairy Jamaluddin’s men. So, the remittance of RM10 million via money changer is the pretext to take him down. This is one of the signs of the declining influence of KJ, the present UMNO Youth Leader.
Let us watch the unfolding another Mat Tyson type saga and see whether action will be taken against the incumbent MB so that Isa Samad can come aboard.–Din Merican

My dear friend, Dr. Bean is so philosophical today.
Mah Chot must have done something in New York.
Btw, Hassan is not the only guy using the money changer service to transfer the money out. Bankers in Singapore can give you a long list of politicians from Malaysia with millions in their banks. They are ministers, ex-ministers, political secretaries, press secretaries private secretaries including mistresses of of our politicians.
ToK Cik better find out what is the relations between Dr. Bean and Sharizat and Kak Pidah?
tean - November 30, 2009 at 6:55 pm
Hey tean, Bean is fasting today and he sees the Advent coming…
3+ weeks more to go..
C’mon, you telling me these NS fellas just found out that the money changers are the ‘illegal’ money transferers? Bank Negara is well aware that millions are transferred out every month by the Indons, Burmese, Banglas and what have you. I personally do this every alternate month for my oppressed ‘kin’ in Burma. If i went the ‘legal’ way with the paltry sum i contribute, they will starve to death. See my point?
Menyalak-er - November 30, 2009 at 9:10 pm
It is not the method but the motive of the transfer that matters. We move money as traders almost on daily basis same like those foreign workers.Dr. Bean is the greatest son of the soil for he makes good in foreign land and transfer the money back to Bakar Bata.
We are talking about thieves stealing money and siphoning it to foreign land.

Lim Go Potong has been declared a Muslim.
So you guys non-Muslims better watch out. Upon your untimely demise you may be declared a Muslim and everything that you have worked for all your life will be taken away from you and your family by the state.
Does that mean that all earnings from gambling, prostitution, pork etc are now halal??
Tean is ahead of the curve, sees it coming and has appointed Ms Maria Ozawa as fund manager and has put all his earnings into Yen and USDLS in off-shore accounts beyond the reach of the state religious department.

The blog host has missed entirely the significance of this ex post facto conversion of a Chinese billionaire. This has enormous significance for the business community in Malaysia.
Mr Bean - November 30, 2009 at 9:33 pm
Stale news?? Oh, I only know today.

I’m in between Sharizat and Rapidah. No room for Tok Cik.

Upon your untimely demise you may be declared a Muslim and everything that you have worked for all your life will be taken away from you…Bean.
Read your sentence carefully Dr. Bean. Do you think we still own everything after we are already six feet under? Muslims or non-muslims never carry anything with them. Why worry? You came to the world naked and you will go back to the soil as earth, water, wind and fire. Only your soul will move on as your soul never die. This is the reason that all wise man never stupid to accumulate so much wealth and later somebody else will enjoy it. Even our spouse might change hand. Just look at the Late Agung and his young wife. Where is she now?…Enjoying herself in London? The late Agung is dead and gone.
tean - November 30, 2009 at 10:34 pm
Yep, it all boils down ‘pragmatism’ doesn’t it?
It’s the ‘motive’ as tean has rightly pointed out – are the means ‘corrupt’ as well? Yes, they are in any corrupt state like in Burma.
But in the U.K.? This is like drug peddling, human trafficking, child smuggling and other odious things. Is this like 2+ mil in euros at todays exchange rate, tean? While we look askance at our gomen, who is tracing the money?
All these hypocritical bumno flurs are not interested in getting the real details. What they want is that ‘blur’ MB out; and to replace him with the one whose name is shared with the cause of Advent. And yes, if he does the needful, he will get to ‘enjoy’ the fruits of perdition.
Menyalak-er - November 30, 2009 at 10:35 pm
Actually, the ruling parties is busy diverting public attention from too many bad news happening in this country.
At the same time can anyone think of any new idea from current PM to lead the country forward. He is just repeating same old stories as though we are already on top of the world.
Many people hate Mahathir but we must give him credit for making people looking forward to hear his idea and initiatives. We can see many things moving (ignore the cost and consequences) but at least we see things moving.
For our current PM, all I can only see is Che Mah Chot moving behind him everywhere. Dr Bean is more fortunate for he had the privilege to see Mah Chot on top of PM in New York recently.
