Some jazz and sentimental tunes to soothe your aching heart this weekend
Friends,
It has been rough week for my colleagues and I with all the happenings in Sabah and Selangor. It is timely for me to play a collection of jazz tunes (Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman and His Majesty The King of Thailand and Nat King Cole) and sentimental songs (by Peggy Lee and Joni James) for us to relax together.
Jones James and Peggy Lee are my favorite female vocalists from yesteryears and I am sure their fans will be happy that I am featuring them for this week’s entertainment. Yes, Joni, I love to take Dr. Kamsiah on a slow boat to Shanghai, China. New Yorker and Osawa Tean, I preempt you this time.–DJ Din Merican
Glenn Miller–In the Mood
Benny Goodman and His Majesty The King of Thailand
Nat King Cole–Let There be Love
Peggy Lee–Mr. Wonderful
Joni James– You’ll Never Know
Joni James–On A Slow Boat to China
Joni James– Where can I go without you
din ,
Balless , clueless and foreskinless you maybe when it comes to discussing about our bretherns in sabah and sarawak but i must say you do have a lovely wife .

Din, you gave me a shock when seeing this post, I thought its the weekend already…you used to post this jazz thingy only on week ends…lol…
Anyway, this week is really tormenting of the mind and heart. Each time I turn on the computer, my heart beat will jump a few notch, fearing that matters will get worst.
I just hope and pray that all will come to their senses and work out a compromised solutions and remain strong to fight the racist, corrupt and arrogant umno.
Have a restful and happy weekend.

What am I seeing here?? A rejuvenated Din Merican who has found the love of his life – at last? Room for one more in your love nest. Don’t say three is a crowd. That’s so 50s.

This one is for drkam. Eat your heart out, Din Merican!

Listen to my favorite growing up in the late 50s. I was way beyond my years even then.

With all the controversy swirling in Sabah, it is only fair that we spare a thought for our friends i.e. the real natives of Sabah. Here is a song dedicated to them in the hope that they too have a good weekend.

They enjoy jazz too !!
Mr Bean - October 30, 2009 at 5:31 am
Now why would Din Merican want to take drkam on a slow boat to China??
Mr Bean - October 30, 2009 at 7:23 am
How could Din Merican be so selfish? This is not the Din Merican I knew! I have always known him to be thoughtful, caring and sharing – and I have known him longer than you have!
What changed??
_________
New Yorker Bean, I have changed, maybe more mellowed with time. I got married to Dr. Kamsiah and she is a big influence on my life. You know my background; I was one of Tunku Om’s anak yatims. But the things that my mom taught me remain and define who I am. She taught me to be kind and respectful of others and accept and respect difference. She believed in working hard to earn the honest dollar. I remember that she had to obtain bicycle loan (rm150) from the government (repayable at the rate of rm5 per month for 3 years) so that I could cycle to school. She never owned any car. She told me to depend on myself, and protect our family name. That I intend to do in her honour and memory. –Din Merican

I say, Din Merican. You ‘cleaned’ up the thread! I think you’ve over mellowed. However, I don’t think drkam has any role in that. So enjoy your boat ride to China. I’ll have to be satisfied playing bartender making cocktails; and tean will be happy just to be able to play his bongo.

For those who love the ‘swing’ music of the ’50s here is Louis Prima.

Dear friends,
I am sorry for not able to take part in this forum earlier. Actually I was in a very difficult position. I was squeezed tight by Paris Hilton and Maria Ozawa (Euro/Yen) and could ot move at all. From early morning and the whole day, both of them arguing for their rightful place between my legs knowing that love to SPREAD. I was cought like Red Indian without arrows. Any move that take will hurt either one of them. The dispute finally settled when Ms. Monika Lewinsky (USD) woke up and she gave Paris Hilton a big slap to shut up.
Finally I managed to free myself and am now going out to open a bottle of champange. Btw at midnight I will be older by one more year and today is indeed a memorable day.
Have fun and a wonderfull weekend folks.

tean,
The market is awashed with funds nobody wants and you gotta go round determining spreads that even Ms Ozawa with her over-exposure to Japanese Yen is not interested.
Better to close your positions and make a dash for the exit. Open positions like those adopted by Ms. Ozawa is not good for your health.

Mr Bean
Give Din a break. The man is a saint among the devils in PR. Our job is to protect him from being eaten alive.
Frank - October 31, 2009 at 3:47 am
You don’t know Din Merican like I do, Frank.
He and I, we are baby boomers. I married at 28 and he married at 69. Good number. He’s still enjoying his honeymoon. Talking about taking the slow boat to China with the love of his life. I don’t even have a life.
What break are you talkin’ bout, Frank?
Mr Bean - October 31, 2009 at 6:41 am
I don’t even have a life-Mr Bean
Ask the other Frank who has a good life in New York
You will get good life in in Nik Aziz’s home state – much better than New York.
Din and wife should take a slow drive to Kelantan instead of taking a slow boat to China.
