  1. i know some pundits would have written off anwar …. but i believe he has that “in-born-fight- back” system that has proven many time and again wrong 🙂

    all in good time ……….

    cheers

  2. Better sooner than never!

We abhor dead leadership quality and will become restless when it ends up with C4 dealership!

DSAI, we certainly like to fireworks on Monday. But let there be Festive Celebration.

My car is already adorned with Malaysia Flags on the dashbord and rear glass since the “916 Congregation”.

“Let there be Shower when we hear the Thunders”….panca.

  3. I have never doubted Anwar, however he must make his move asap for 2 reasons. One-the present government is, as stated above, in a flux. It has no strong leadership without a plan for change. Two-and more importantly the country is in extremely dire straits, and the negative economic situation in the developed nations will or has already spilled over here. The goons are instead working out the umno leadership. When the “shit” hits the fan it wont matter who is at the helm of umno, there might possibly not be an umno.

As I have said in this or in Haris’s blog, Anwar should and is, keeping to his chest, his plan of attack, patience is the key word. It is however my fervent prayer when he effects his plan, the present goons don’t resort to under handed tactics, like emergency powers as done before. We anxiously await with joy and celebrations the white Monday after the black Friday the world just experienced.

Din you have a good trip to Camboja

  4. Brian,

this imbeciles will resort to even worst things when they know their fate of looosing power.

tat is wat we have to remind ourselves, jus look around u fer da past few months n da arrest and veiled as well as open threats that they r capable of making

we nid to move but its surely gonna be a long nite against this regime

    cheers

  5. In spite of all the goofs, Koh Tsu Koon, has the gall to proclaim Badawi as “Bapak Demokrasi”. The length this goon will go to please his master. What a laugh.

  6. Tok Cik,

this spineless man had always been a Dollah man, remember even when Dollah wuz outta cabinet during da UMNO – Semangat 46 crisis d only guy who would still use his official car to pick Dollah when he lands in Penang is Koh

two spineless fusion can create a giant octupussy 🙂

    cheers

  7. “Bapak Tidor” will be more appropriate. The few reforms which he claimed credit were nothing more but pin pricks which he had unwittingly let off due to ignorance rather than planned.

  8. Tok Cik

    look wat i meant

” He noted that there are people who have wanted to see the reforms being implemented as soon as possible but said he could not do so within his short premiership. Abdullah took office in 2003.

best send him political orbituaries n forget about him n move on

    cheers

  9. Anwar has mentioned the need for taking over the government in a peaceful manner. Without the cooperation of the Prime this naturally will take time. BN/UMNO leaders obviously use this as an opportunity to hit at Anwar. Anyway, what the BN/UMNO leaders think may not be of any consequence soon.

What BN/UMNO leaders think or said these days, do not have much credibility. If there is anyone whose credibility needs to be question, it is that of the BN/UMNO leaders.

In the midst of global aconomic meltdown, we have yet to see a responsible reaction other then “Our economy is stable” and “Our fundamentals are strong” from Najib or Nor Mohamad. Do they seriously think that Malaysians are that stupid?

Oil and Palm oil prices coming down, exports are ready to come down due to pending recession in US and Europe, Singapore is already in recession and yet “Our fundamentals are strong ?” and we should not think about the economy ? I think we deserved more responsible statements and fuller explanation on the country’s strategic game plan on how to avoid the possible recession.

At this point in time, a national economic agenda and strategy is required. BN/UMNO leaders must put aside their crave and jostling for power and position to address this issue.

Alternative, they should let Pakatan Rakyat manage the country for the time being while they sort out their political games.

  10. Din Ahmad,

Simple – they don’t know what to do, they don’t know how and they don’t know what to say. They also know it will be Anwar’s or Pakatan Rakyat’s problem.

You think they are not afraid of Anwar? They are preparing themselves. They are making a list of what to cart out that will last them the next 50 winters. It’s only that old fart who is not ready packed. He will need to migrate soon, yeah very soon when Anwar Ibrahim becomes the PM.

  11. Omar Kayyam
I’d like to read your comments but this da r ur etc is making me gila. Please write proper English, after all it’s just a few extra clicks on the keyboard and you are not charged for the clicks.
I believe you are a matured person but you are writing like the ‘lost generation” folks. Hope you obliged.

  12. Omar,

Hah, that was 2nd warning this time from Shrek. And here’s 3rd – please change, lead by example for your kid to emulate not the other way around. Hey don’t shame shame BN govt, you got free education, yes or not? 😀

  13. Omar,

Hah, that was 2nd warning this time from Shrek. And here’s 3rd – please change, lead by example for your kid to emulate not the other way around. Hey don’t shame shame BN govt, you got free education, yes or not? 😀

  14. “Some of us just couldn’t care less anymore.
We’re really tired of promises. Of waiting. ” yb4all

I think I can empathize with that. Particularly, with this financial shit that’s gonna whack us and everybody else everywhere. And if I feel impatience its because also the need in sustaining hopes and morale.

We are faced with a grim big problem. Let’s be plain.

The Bumi policy did bring to the country real benefits by questionable means, in addition to the overall encompassing gains. What it has done also, it brought enormous wealth to the few. There’s the postives and the negative sides.

But the enormous wealth that the few have gained is now being rolled out to fight this change. It can be sinister and it can brutal, one or the other or both. 50 years is a long time, long enough to make things entrenched. One thing is clear, it is not right. When something is wrong, it will go wrong!

And I think you believe that too. And I think you believe that fair wealth creates even more and greater wealth.

  15. yb4all,

It is obvious you are tired of what the BN/UMNO government have been dishing us. Anwar and Pakatan Rakyat provided a hope for change. This hope now seems realistic, not just because of Anwar, RPK or the leaders of those against the BN/UMNO government. This hope is now realistic because of more than the 50% of the voters that voted in the last March 8, 2008 election.

This is the hope that we are now carrying inside us for that grand finale. As long as we continue to hope, we will continue to have the realistic chance of changes. We are not far from it but despair and giving up will take us further from our destination.

  16. Baton Is Passed But Will The People Of The East Ever Enjoy The Benefits

A few days ago, our Prime Minister has decided not to contest in the coming UMNO presidency in March, 2009. With his famous “flip-flop” decision, many still wary of what going to happen prior to the party presidency election. With his current deputy, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, allegedly to have an involvement in the Altantuya case and Datuk Seri Abdullah Badawi hinting that he can only hope that Najib will take his seat, what is brewing in the next five month is still an unchartered terrain with uncertainties.

What worries us of what will happened then. If the new Prime Minister takes over, will the same policy for the East Malaysia still be implemented? We are still waiting for the billion ringgits announced for our states to be delivered. 5 months is a very short period of time and if the new Prime Minister takes office, will the monies promised for development be a reality or just empty promises. Even if PR takes over the federal government, will the same situation be happening to us. Some politicians are all talk but no action. We want to see the politician who can walk the talk.

  17. Shrek, communication is more important than spelling or grammar. I am sure Omar-K is taking the mick (and that’s not Mike!!!!!) only. Take it easy. Have a good weekend, whatever is left of it but prepare for the “WHITE” Monday.

  18. yb4all and a few others are from the Instant Coffee and Instant Noodle generation. They all want instant results. If change is not instant then they consider all the promises a failure. Remember Rome was not built in a day.

Some things can be changed in real quick time (like underwear) but others take time (e.g. dodol) from coconut milk and sugar to that dark savory sweet meat. Please be patient as patience is virtue.

  19. Brian
You must forgive me. I am from a different generation. I really don’t understand wat, to me wat is the Thai temple, nid to me is the Thai Restaurant Nid Noy, ur to me is&*%$#.

I am a slow reader and reading this foreign language slows me further. I may have to install a “language translator” on my computer.

I can understand if sending an SMS where every click counts but here we have the luxury of time. Communication is not just being able to read but also understand. If I can’t understand wat d f..k d riter rite how to com tat wud r cud wuz nid rid.

  20. Dear Shrek and Din,

I have waited 30 years for change. Is that instant for you shrek?

Don’t get me wrong. I voted for change. Those people have even changed my voting into Kera Jantan’s constituency.

I have been a victim of many malpractices and wrongdoings throughout. I have been hoping and praying for justice from the first day I joined service.

    Do you understand?

So, tell me what happened to 916? Am I wrong for this impatience of mine?

OK, I’ll wait for Oct 13. I hope something will materialise!
Make sure that this time it is not just rhetoric.

    I’m exhausted!

  21. yb4all

What action did you take during that 30 years wait? 30 years is a long time but there was never an opportunity like what PR and 916 presented these last few weeks. I bet 916 triggered all this reaction. If you can wait 30 years, why not give PR another 90 days?

As you said the people changed you to Kera Jantan constituency and you voted for change all these while. Politics in Malaysia especially for UMNO/BN is like a large ship. The captain gives the order to turn around but it takes the ship about 10 miles just to make the turn.

I know your frustration but you must realise that not that many share the same sentiment as you all these 30 years. You alone or with a few friends cannot make the change. It needs a massive force such as a majority voter rebellion to make the change. PR didn’t have the majority in Parliament. If more voters like you had cast their votes for PR you would have seen the change immediately last March.

MP’s crossing over is one alternative for PR to wrest the government from BN. But the danger is that these same MP’s may recross over. What happen then? Perhaps you forgot what happened in Sabah. Anwar thus have to tread real carefully.

Almost everyone on this blog dream of a change in the government. You waited 30 years. Some have waited longer. Lim Kit Siang and Karpal Singh to name a few, Be patient my friend, the end is in sight.

  22. Dear Shrek,

I’m all for CATs – Competency, Accountability and Transparency.

    Does this explains?

I couldn’t beat and I couldn’t join the crowd either.

I vouch for honesty, but yes, it’s such a lonely word.

    I remain silent.

  23. yb4all,

Shrek is right. What Anwar is trying to do is an inefficient way of changing the government. An easier way by-passed us on March 8,2008, but not enough people voted against the BN. Many of them did not vote against BN for the simple tidak apa attitude. If they had spent enough time and grey matter thinking about the future of this country then we would be addressing very different issues today – such as the economy.

Let us make the best of the situation. What Anwar and Pakatan Rakyat need is the support and understanding. The support for him to achieve what he had set out to do and the understanding that what he wanted to do is something very complicated, risky and highly sensitive. Further pressure on him will not help to make matters easier. He needs the leeway and the flexibility for him to move in the right manner and the right pace.

According to Sun Tzu (author of The Art of War), you need to be have shih – the position of potential force – a position that provides you the flexibility of moving when the time is right. That also means it is futile to move at the wrong time. Anwar is now in the shih – the position of flexibility – let him move when he thinks is right not when others want him to move.

  24. DSAI already said,

“Why should we wait for so long? It will happen soon… very soon.”

“Expect some fireworks on Monday,” he cryptically added.

    Hello brothers,

Just wait and see for a little while will you!

  26. “If I can’t understand wat d f..k d riter rite how to com tat wud r cud wuz nid rid. ”

Hey Shrek, for your ‘age’ you are a pretty fast learner lah! 😀

Omar, now that you mentioned Younge Street, hey, I miss shopping there lah, real cool street! …and that burger stall tucked at that junction, still remember it – delicious!

  27. “We exhausted all peaceful ways to take over. One should ask Abdullah, not me, for his reasons of disallowing us to take over,” the Permatang Pauh member of parliament said during his Hari Raya open house in his hometown of Cerok To’kun, in Bukit Mertajam, Penang today.

    =====================
With due respect to DSAI, no incumbent PM will relinquish his post to anybody, much less to an opposition leader, without batting an eyelid. So to expect Pak Lah to give way to PR to rule is day dreaming. So unless ht PR comes out woth a concrete plan to ake over the govt from the Beban Negara, pls do not give more false hopes to the rakyat. I have been an ardent supporter of the PR from 8th MArch, but now now I am somewhat disillusioned with broken promises. And can you actually blame me!

  28. OK guys, lets not waste our energy and steam at each other but channel our wind ( not farts please) keep that 4 d goon show (not BBC)actors. Omar-K tani on me.

Shrek go change money. Bank say how you like money. Shrek say vely good. Bank don’t give money, how ahh?

  32. Guys

There is one thing I care to differ, that is my opinion is that

Pak Lah was godsend to Anwar and the Opposition.

If Muhyiddin, Muhriz, Najib or Syed Botak was the PM, we would not have got this far.

It is unfortunate for Pak Lah that he could not deliver his promises, but if he did, the opportunities that opened up for the Opposition and for Anwar would not have the support from the general populace.

Pak Lah still have time to change and reverse his situation. If I was him, I will do a cabinet change right away. I will free all the ISA detainees, and I will put Najib away for his involvement in the Mongolian case. Why worry about UMNO? After all ISA is there so he could put all those monkeys at Kamunting and let the true Malaysians who are being detained to come out and make our country a better place. If, only Pak Lah had some balls…but that would be a dangerous proposition too….
