Dear YB Lim Kit Siang,
On behalf of the PKR team I thank you, YB Karpal Singh, our popular Penang Chief Minister YB Lim Guan Eng, your grassroots team in Permatang Pauh and the entire DAP national organisation for the excellent cooperation and support.
Your presence today at the nomination center in Tuanku Bainun Teachers Training College in Seberang Jaya is appreciated. I, therefore, share your assessment that if we are to use the turnout today as a rough indicator and assume that there are no hanky panky antics and tricks by Rashid Rahman and his SPR boys–my sources tell me that he has a room next to Badawi in Sunway Hotel–, Anwar can win BIG against their “best BN candidate”, Ariff Shah.
Najib and the entire UMNO-BN machine assembled at the Sunway Hotel in Seberang Jaya are under enormous pressure now. Because of this, he will resort to a dirty campaign (e.g, asking Saiful Bukhari to swear on the Holy Koran), and deploy state assets including military intelligence. He thinks that by asking Puteri UMNO and Khairy Jamaluddin’s UMNO Youth to buy voters of Permatang Pauh, he can reduce Anwar’s margin of victory.
The people I met and talked to here have dignity (MARUAH) and want their local boy Anwar in Parliament on August 27, 2008. They also know that the present government has messed up the economy.

I could not help but notice that Najib was heckled by the pro-Anwar crowd who shouted “Altantuya! Altantuya!!” when he raised the hands of Ariff Shah, Shahrizat Abdul Jalil and others. —Din Merican at Permatang Pauh
If the Permatang Pauh by-election is decided by the Nomination Day turnout this morning, Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) adviser Anwar Ibrahim would win hands down.
Never before in any by-election nomination in Malaysian electoral history has the Barisan Nasional been so-outnumbered and overwhelmed, whether in terms of supporters; publicity materials whether flags, buntings or banners; or sheer enthusiasm, morale and spirit of the supporters.
In the sea of humanity at the Nomination Centre this morning, Anwar’s supporters from the three Pakatan Rakyat parties of PKR, DAP and PAS simply drowned out the Barisan Nasional supporters from Umno, MCA, Gerakan and MIC, led by a very subdued Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak himself, Umno Youth leader Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein and his deputy Khairy Jamaluddin.
There are those who estimate that the crowd was as big as 100,000 or more, with the Pakatan Rakyat supporters exceeding the Barisan Nasional supporters by a ratio of from 1:7 to 1:10.
UMNO Youth Hishammuddin yesterday played the sympathy card when he “begged” Permatang Pauh voters to support the Barisan Nasional candidate “because we are the underdog”.
The role of an “underdog” does not sit well with Hishammuddin as memories among Malaysians are still fresh that he was far from being an underdog when he wielded the Malay keris at the Umno Youth general assembly for three consecutive years, utterly insensitive of the sensitivities of a multi-racial Malaysia. Nor is the Prime Minister’s son-in-law best cast in the role of an “underdog”!
The impression the outnumbered and demoralized BN team gave at the Nomination Centre this morning was certainly not one of an “underdog” but of a Chinese description of the “rat running across the street”!
Anwar is right however in his caution to all workers and supporters not to be complacent and take the BN mechanism lightly, as the BN is fully capable of turning the table on polling day by snatching victory from the jaws of defeat with its tested “bag of dirty tricks”.
It is a sad commentary on Anwar’s total lack of confidence in the independence and integrity of the electoral system that Dr Mansor Othman, former Penang PKR leader, had to be nominated as an independent candidate as a “strategic contingency” move in case Anwar was unreasonably and unjustly disqualified – with Mansor announcing his withdrawal when Anwar sailed through the nomination process, forfeiting RM15,000 in the process!
Anwar had very good reason to take such a precautionary measure as the decision by the Election Commission to fix a Tuesday – August 26 – as the polling day for the by-election was clearly unfair and undemocratic, designed to discourage a high voter turn-out being a working day particularly for the high percentage of factory workers in the constituency and therefore unfavourable to Anwar’s candidature.
The battle royale of the Permatang Pauh by-election for the next ten days is on – with far reaching consequences not just for Anwar and the constituency, but for the nation and 27 million Malaysians.
Great job, Din!
None of the blogs give a running commentary of the events the way you do!
You stand above all the others – like that Du Maurier cig ad of the 70s
Mr Bean - August 16, 2008 at 12:44 pm

Good, well planned strategy! Much like that of Obama whose campaign was well planned and strategised!

“I, therefore, share your assessment that if we are to use the turnout today as a rough indicator and assume that there are no hanky panky antics and trcks by Rashid Rahman and his SPR boys–my sources …” Din Merican
It is very important that PKR has its team of legal observers to document instances of bribery and corrupt practices, identify witnesses, collect on-the-spot statements from witnesses and other evidence. UMNO is bound to challenge the results of this election in court in the event they lose marginally.
I helped UMNO win some of their cases years ago. I know how they did it. They bribed witnesses to give false testimonies. They fabricated documentary evidence to prove their allegations.
The election is not over until it is over!
Then it is still not over. The battle just shifts to the courts where the battle will rage on for a while longer. If they need to move mountains in order to have the election results declared void they would – and they have. They never lost even one of their challenges. Thanks to lawyers like Zaki and judges like Eusoff Chin!

Well worth it, let them forfeit the money!
A great shame, shows the world that Malaysians, Anwar Ibrahim included, have lost total confidence in the independence and integrity of the Malaysian Election Commission.
Disturbing events the past few days have showed the EC, Police and mainstream Media have been working in colloboration to discredit Anwar in whatever ways they can to please their political master!
They have not been fair to Anwar and that was why such precautionery measures of strategic contingency move was most necessary and well worth it!

You don’t talk about what is fair to a man who is drowning! All he wants is to survive!
This Shit-full of lies, lied on the Quoran. But since he was forced to lie in contempt of God, God does not think it right to have him condemned to the fires of Hell.
In a very important sense his lie is void ab initio.

Malay Muslims are really misguided. They need to return to the right path. Shrek hope the learned Muftis will have the courage to correct this practise.
Shrek hope they repent 10-4

Teachers in molest claims
By NELSON BENJAMIN
LABIS: Two primary school teachers have been arrested for allegedly molesting and performing indecent acts on their pupils.
The teachers, aged 35 and 27, from two different schools in Labis and Kluang respectively, were arrested after pupils lodged police reports.
Investigations showed that the students were molested in different places, including a school’s counselling room, an art class and even in a park.
In the latest report in Labis last week, a Year 6 pupil who failed to attend her extra classes was asked to see the discipline teacher in the counselling room.
Sources said that instead of reprimanding her, the 35-year-old teacher started showing her pornographic pictures on his laptop and molested her.
The family suspected something amiss when the girl refused to go to school the next day. The family then lodged a police report.
In the other case in Kluang, several Year 6 pupils lodged separate reports after being molested by their 27-year-old teacher, allegedly since March this year.
In one case, the teacher had offered a 12-year-old pupil a ride in his car to attend Friday prayers but took him to a secluded area instead and molested him and tried to sodomise him.
The boy managed to fight him off and demanded to be sent home.
I REPEAT AGAIN IF A STD 6 CHILD CAN FIGHT OFF AN ADULT, ISN’T IT RIDICULOUS THAT THE CLAIMS OF SHIT-FULL BEING SODOMISED 8 TIMES, BY AN OLD MAN WITH A BAD BACK SOME MORE.

Beware of Idiot Compassion!
Hishamuddin begging for votes is like calling for our Idiot Compassion.
In order that our compassion doesn’t become idiot compassion, we have to use our intelligence.
Otherwise, there could be self indulgence, thinking that we are creating a compassionate situation when in fact we are feeding the other person’s aggression.
If you go to a shop and the shopkeeper cheats you and you go back and let him cheat you again, that’s not a healthy thing to do.

Not so uncommon in Kedah slang. Well, at least I thought it was a slang word until now. Maybe Shrek could throw some light being a linguist and all on the origin of the word etc etc
Lubang of all lubang I suppose! Or in today’s parlance “mother of all lubangs”. There is the lubang hidong – which is also sodomy if you thrust your joystick into it
No kiddin’. Refer to Sec. 377A Penal Code. That’s sodomy too. Though I cannot for the life of me imagine why Shrek would want to do that!

“How could Saiful dare to swear on the holy Qu’ran in a place of worship ?” Shobhan
I know of no case when counsel has tried to admit this ’swearing’ in a mosque as a confession (just shows how rare it is) and, therefore, falls under one of the exceptions to the common law rule against heresay.
I suppose it could be admitted as it is the same as a confession made to a Catholic priest i.e. if you could find one Catholic priest to divulge the contents of the confession. If somebody else had overheard the confession made to the priest then that’s something else.
Mr Bean - August 16, 2008 at 4:50 pm
Technically, there is no need for admitting this ‘confession’ because Shit-ful could always come to court and testify. But should he go missing again, then the issue of admissibility of this ‘confession’ would arise.
Mr Bean - August 16, 2008 at 4:52 pm
Techincally, the issue does not arise since Shit-ful could always come to court and testify. But should he go missing during trial then the issue of admissibility would arise. To quote him and ask the court to accept the truth of its contents would be heresay.
Mr Bean - August 16, 2008 at 4:55 pm
Does the ’swearing by Quran) mean that they(Saiful’s advisors) are trying to change the charge on Anwar?
Jong - August 16, 2008 at 5:16 pm
Sorry, accident I repost:
Does the ’swearing by Quran’ mean that they(Saiful’s advisors) are trying to change the charge on Anwar?
Jong - August 16, 2008 at 5:17 pm
Charge? From what to what?
Mr Bean - August 16, 2008 at 5:24 pm
I suppose prosecutors could now say that this Shit-ful being a practicing Muslim would not have made the confession (it is a confession) if it was not true!
Mr Bean - August 16, 2008 at 5:27 pm
I sense there’s a conspiracy to go that direction, afterall in corrupt Bolehland such a twist may hardly be surprising.
Jong - August 16, 2008 at 5:27 pm
It can only be used if full of shit Shit-ful go missing one fine day. Otherwise it is his testimony in court that is the evidence.
Mr Bean - August 16, 2008 at 5:29 pm
Shit-ful would be under oath in court in any case. But I suppose prosecutor could now say that Shit-ful as a practicing Muslim and his fear of God and the fact that he took the oath in a religious ceremony and in the mosque should give added weight to his testimony.
In short it goes to the weight of the evidence. But that is not enough to convict. There need to be corroborating evidence from independent witnesses – like the doctors who examined him, expert opinion etc.
Mr Bean - August 16, 2008 at 5:36 pm
ie from Penal Code 377B to 377C now that he insisted it’s not “consensual” but ‘forced sodomy’.
Saiful’s trying to save his skin because Anwar like many of us, have asked why was Saiful not charged, if it was
consensual.
Jong - August 16, 2008 at 5:37 pm
Where would the evidence come from if both are accused in the case? I suppose evidence would have to come from the medical report but the medical report only proves the fact of the sodomy – and not who sodomized him!
Mr Bean - August 16, 2008 at 5:49 pm
Should we expect Shit-ful to incriminate himself in the process – and spend time in jail next to Anwar?? Maybe he would be pardoned and comes out of jail a very rich man!
Mr Bean - August 16, 2008 at 5:52 pm
There is no case. Saiful is a dirty liar and a sinner. But those conspirators are adamant to ‘kill’ Anwar, how?
Good night.
Jong - August 16, 2008 at 5:55 pm
Shit-ful changing his statement goes to his credibility. In rape cases, defendant’s best defence is to say the sex was consensual and not forced. Credibilility of the accuser then becomes critical. Otherwise the charge would not stick.
Mr Bean - August 16, 2008 at 5:59 pm
Btw Dr Mohamed Osman the Burmese doc attached to Hospital Pusrawi is AWOL . He refused to report for work after 3 wks leave for fear of his life. The Malaysian police were harassing him.
Two days agao Hospital Pusrawi announced that they have terminated the services of Dr Mohamed Osman for failing to report back for work. This I am sure will be brought up in court if there is to be a court hearing.
Jong - August 16, 2008 at 6:00 pm
Sleep tight! Don’t do what I wouldn’t do
Mr Bean - August 16, 2008 at 6:00 pm
His sworn statement now becomes admissible to prove the truth of its contents! But then without him in court, the judge would have to decide how much weight to give to that statement he made and left behind.
Mr Bean - August 16, 2008 at 6:02 pm
Shit-ful would be re-examined again to confirm the fact of the alleged sodomy. It is reasonable to expect that by now he’d have been sodomised. Except that it’s not by the accused!
Mr Bean - August 16, 2008 at 6:05 pm
Probably self-inflicted

VOTE FOR ANWAR – MOVEMENT FOR CHANGE
I am very sure that never in the history of elections in this country have the crowd been as big as today. Various estimates of the turnout ranged from 100,000 to 150,000 with hardly 5% representing Barisan Nasional.
Looking at the crowd, Malays, Chinese, and Indians with larger percentage of young people gave me the feeling that I was looking at the future of this country. Honestly, I felt good. We can safely say now that GOD willing when Anwar becomes the Prime Minister we can all fast track the reunification process for the country. A process that is much needed after 50 years of divisive politics lead by UMNO, MCA and MIC.
Our country cannot go on for long with BN/UMNO’s formula of management. If we want to see our children and their children live peacefully in a country made good by a unity of differences moved forward by a diversity of culture and accelerate our economic growth with a “Ketuanan Rakyat” approach to political economics, we need to take our fate in our hands. We only deserve a bright future if we are willing to create it on our own. That creation started in March 2008 and we now need to take it to the next level by making sure Anwar takes his oath in Parliament on August 27, 2008.
Din Ahmad - August 16, 2008 at 6:13 pm
Sheesh!
Why am I talking about sodomy at all! ‘Unnatural sex’ today is given a very narrow definition. Anal sex is not a crime in most jurisdictions. Being bisexual and homosexual is a matter of sexual orientation. Many girls today are bisexual. It is the trend!

Like Obama, Anwar is a movement. It is up to you guys to make him into one if he’s not already one!
Once a movement, it cannot be defeated. It gathers its own momentum and once there is momentum it is hard if not impossible to stop!
It is important that the election is not seen as an attempt by Anwar to reassure his electorate that he is what he says he is. This election is bigger than Anwar and you guys should not go on a negative campaign. If you do, then you would be doing what UMNO hope Anwar’s supporters would do. They are better at the negative campaigning and the personal mudslinging.
Anwar got to rise above the fray and carry his message of change. Like Obama did and defeated a very popular politician, Hilary Clinton.
Mr Bean - August 16, 2008 at 7:14 pm

VOTE for ANWAR – MOVEMENT for CHANGE
Yes. Anwar is a movement, VOTE FOR ANWAR means supporting a MOVEMENT FOR CHANGE. As Mr. Bean correctly pointed out nobody can stop a Movement which time has come. Looking at the crowd in Permatang Pauh yesterday gives me that feeling. That is why I felt good.
I have been following Anwar’s activities since his ABIM days. I tell you, the change in the crowd, size, and composition makes me feel that Anwar’s time is here – the MOVEMENT FOR CHANGE is fast gaining its momentum. It is just a matter of time.
His UMNO days were like a detour – a detour from what he was supposed to do and what he actually is. Somehow or other it was a road that would “take him away from himself” – a compassionate, humble and caring leader. He ends up paying a very expensive price for it and the nation had to wait much longer for him to take the seat that is rightfully his.
As in any other passage of a man, Anwar needs to go through many trials and tribulations including he greatest test of them all- the test of time, before he is ready for his role in leading the nation. I hope that the test for Anwar and the country will soon be over and the nation do not have to wait no more.

Looking at the entrepreneurial side of the gathering yesterday, Anwar, intentionally or not has also created an economic boom for many in Permatang Pauh. The number of “gerai”s has mushroomed – selling air asam jawa, burger, nasi lemak, keropok – you name it. Similar stalls have also been set-up around the various operations center and ceramah fields. The people here loves Anwar, other than for taking the stand to represent them also for being the biggest crowd puller for the ceramahs – good for business !
We had Nasi Kandar at Restoran Ali in Bukit Mertajam yesterday, a friend Basha, insisted that he buys us lunch. Many friends gladly buy you lunch here – in line with the camaraderie spirit on the ground – and strongly assisted by the next to nothing prices compared to that of KL

Salak,
You see the Northerners have their unique vocab and we are so proud of.
“Pesemboq” is what those in KL call it “Indian rojak” – but never like those found in the North. It’s a mixture of prawn fritters, soybean cake, cucumber, bangkwang and taugeh(beansprouts) with mixture of thick tomato-paste with herbs like kunyit and langkwas(galangal root) to give it the
..oomph!
Pasemboq is uniquely local Penang and Kedah dish, mostly available at Indian stalls. I’m not sure if its an import from South India.

Jong,
That’s not even chicken feed!
I was looking for something more potent!
So what’s for lunch? More cream and sweets?
Salak - August 17, 2008 at 2:22 am
Salak, why are you asking about lunch when you are stuck in East Malaysia?
Jong - August 17, 2008 at 2:36 am
Something tells me cooking is Jong’s forte
Mr Bean - August 17, 2008 at 2:42 am
I guess my mind is in Permatang Pauh!
Must be crazy there, aint it? Exciting! Exhilirating for some. I get some readings from Bukit Mertajam and a couple of places in Kedah and Penang.
Yes, I should have been out of Kuching and stop meowing!
Yesterday, when I picked up some lunch from my mamak friend, he was asking same! Not to worry! the broth is cooking well in Pauh!

Salak, you may want to go to zorro-unmasked website to see Sharizat in her thong
Mr Bean - August 17, 2008 at 2:48 am
Having trouble sending url address? Here’s a tip – delete the part “http://”.
Do not attach it with the rest of the address.
Somehow with it attached, it does not work sometimes(sometimes). But once sent, the “http://” somehow will automatically appear. That’s how smart computers are these days!
Jong - August 17, 2008 at 2:55 am
Bean,
How many days does it take to grow bad eggs?
Call someone and throw some at Najib!
Pauh people must be generous to Najib who should have resigned. On the other hand he could already be shredding paper by the truckloads!

“Something tells me cooking is Jong’s forte ” – Bean
Let’s put it this way, I’m a gourmet. I love eating but not any rubbish.
Jong - August 17, 2008 at 3:03 am
Jong,
The pasemboq sold by the mamaks at Gurney Drive Penang comes with a thick sugar-laced peanut curry not tomato paste with herbs and kunyit.
That’s the first place I head for whenever in Penang besides Kayu and Kassim Mustafa, my lady.
Tok Cik - August 17, 2008 at 3:05 am

Thanx Tok Cik, I’m aware of that. I guess they just love my name!
Sometimes I do multi-tasking and that’s when attention is lacking, until too late.

Tok Cik, Jong!
Please stay focus lah! Reports can be so dry you miss the real kick of the place.
See you people, later! Got to look up some others and get me some lunch!
Salak - August 17, 2008 at 3:14 am
Jong,
Ya, your name sure rings a bell.
It reminds me of one famous athlete in the 70s from Sarawak. He ran the 400 meter hurdles and broke Karuselvaratnam’s long sanding record of 52.7 seconds. His name is Jong too.
Met him several times at the Kuching stadium where he did his training. Wonder whether he’s still around.
Salak, any clues of his whereabouts?
Tok Cik - August 17, 2008 at 3:19 am
Tok Cik, that’s already improvised version, not original lah – calorie laden and sweet. Do you realise that Gurney Drive is touristy spot? Locals usually avoid such places.
Try Padang Brown stalls at Dato Kramat Road where the original and improvised version are available. biz hrs lunch hours 3pm to 7 pm. They may have it for lunch, I’m not sure.

“Do not ruin your children’s future and do not think Anwar is God who can….” Kasim Amat
“Do not think Anwar is God!” The call has been made by a reader (believed to be a sitting UMNO MP) on Lim Kit Siang’s blog. By doing so he has put his finger on the tone UMNO has set for the by-election.
Anwar is a charismatic leader with a vision for Malaysia. UMNO pinheads talk about the vision. There is a major difference between the two styles of leadership.
Having said that it is important that Anwar’s supporters not be seen as to ‘kiss the ground that Anwar walks on’. Do not go overboard in your admiration of Anwar. It may backfire.
It suggests that we think Anwar can do no wrong. Din Ahmad in describing Anwar comes close to comparing him to Prophet Ayoub in the Qur’an, is Job in the Christian Bible and Jobab in the Torah. In the Qur’an, Job is known as Ayoub (Arabic: أيوب ), which is Arabic for Job, and is considered a prophet in Islam. Satan challenged his integrity.
By giving Anwar the aura of a prophet would not do justice to Anwar the man. It instead exposes the weakness, flaws and vulnerabilities in the personality of any leader – besides helping UMNO, in this case, to focus on the one issue i.e. the unnatural sex act he has been accused of which hangs like a dark cloud over his head.
Anwar needs a political strategist badly. It is the job of the strategist to decide how to run his campaign and how best to sell Anwar Ibrahim to the electorate. Anwar needs to listen to his advisors as to what to do and how to go about doing it. True. In the case of Permatang Pauh the voters feel they know their candidate who is after all one of their own – a homegrown candidate. Still mistakes could be made. I think that poster with him in dark sunglasses dressed in a suit does injustice to the man. It may not be enough to lose the election but I think it is a grave error and the campaign manager must work hard to lose that poster!
Mr Bean - August 17, 2008 at 11:52 am
Furthermore, challenging authority does not resonate well with conservative rural Malays. The Hang Tuahs (of the Malay folklore) among the Malays today still have a long way to go before they morph themselves into the character of Hang Jebat.
Instead of using a poster which shows Anwar challenging authority, the poster should show Anwar’s feeling for the agricultural and factory workers, the ordinary housewives struggling to make ends meet, who seem to have been all but forgotten by this group of UMNO leaders involved and preoccupied as they are in accumulating wealth for themselves and their families.
Mr Bean - August 17, 2008 at 12:13 pm
Simple. Put another different one over it!
Bean,
Depending on the demographics and other socio-cultural aspect, which we are not privy to of the area, it could only apply to under-35’s dpending how many of them!
The other image of baju Melayu labuh, over the samping, that’s for the makciks, packciks and every evening at homes young papa and mama.
PKR people have the facilities to collate info, it depends whether the Belia does it. I honestly can’t say what the ground dynamics are. You have to rub shoulders and eat nasi on a leaf or something that makes the difference.
Again, “PiPi” is so close to Penang, a lot if not more than some of urbanity is imbibed. Words get in the way, at times, and at our costs wordiness or verbosity.
Images, real images of shouting, angry, happy, crying people or blank looks say a lot!
Ya, ya, ya! Should have been there!
Salak - August 17, 2008 at 12:19 pm
As for “Kassim Amat”, it ain’t gonna work here! it’s too simplicitic! More than not!
Salak - August 17, 2008 at 12:21 pm
What’s happening with PAS convention?
Any subtle streams of help there?
Salak - August 17, 2008 at 12:30 pm
….er hmmm, forgot poster with the femmine touch already?
Jong - August 17, 2008 at 1:07 pm
On a serious note, I agree with our Dr Bean – the poster of Anwar looked terrible, arrogant and offensive. Should be taken down before more damage is done afterall who does not know Anwar Ibrahim?
Jong - August 17, 2008 at 1:14 pm
Those masks, what message does PKR want to send to the electorates? Impression given is a lack of seriousness in this by-election with ridiculous looking circus boys/girls having good fun! – overconfidence maybe?
Jong - August 17, 2008 at 1:26 pm
Yes, put Anwar in sarong and put Jong lurking from behind!
Mr Bean - August 17, 2008 at 1:58 pm
Images of Anwar ‘lifting the corporate veil’ to expose fraud is too sophisticated for the rural electorate to understand and absorb!
Mr Bean - August 17, 2008 at 2:01 pm
But if I were there, I’d try my hand at caricature and put my skills to good use – with Jong’s help
Imagine what you could do with ‘lifting the corporate veil’
Mr Bean - August 17, 2008 at 2:04 pm
Challenging authority does not resonate well with conservative rural Malays. The Hang Tuahs (of the Malay folklore) among the Malays today still have a long way to go before they morph themselves into the character of Hang Jebat.
Din Merican likes to identify himself with James Dean. James Dean is the western version of the Malay Hang Jebat – only difference is he’s the rebel without a cause. Hang Jebat had a cause, fought and died for it!
Mr Bean - August 17, 2008 at 2:10 pm
A little humor is good but don’t over do it. Let’s talk serious.
Like I said of those masks – it has been abused by dirty ‘implants’ to discredit PKR supporters. Puteri umno complained they were pinched at their butts, any arrests made?
Jong - August 17, 2008 at 2:11 pm
Jong, this is dead serious!
Being a non-Malay you may not appreciate it fully. But it is very important that Anwar be potrayed not as a Hang Jebat but a Hang Tuah. All my writings above have that one golden thread running through it.
No doubt we seek to change the status quo but how it is done is just as important – at least to the rural Malays. Failing to understand the Malay psyche could be fatal in a constituency where Malays predominate.
Mr Bean - August 17, 2008 at 2:26 pm
“Puteri umno complained they were pinched at their butts, any arrests made?” Jong
Butt pinching is an Italian national past time! Obviously it is not so in our case though it is fast catching up
Maybe Puteri UMNO members are jealous because they don’t get their assess pinched as often as those from PKR:)
Mr Bean - August 17, 2008 at 2:30 pm
Anwar’s image as a conservative defending the institution of royalty should be projected whenever the need arises. That is Hang Tuah there!
Mr Bean - August 17, 2008 at 2:33 pm
Mahathir was certainly a Hang Jebat especially when he acted to trim the powers of the royalty and disturbed and de-stabilised the balance of power! He has always been one – though he’s one sly fox never to show his hand on his way up but did so in his confrontation with Tunku.
Mr Bean - August 17, 2008 at 2:37 pm
Bean, maybe your years away you have missed out – I was told Edu Ministry have discouraged the studies of Hang Tuah after it was revealed in a research that he was a Chinese!
Jong - August 17, 2008 at 2:39 pm
Wait till fatso Rosmah walks into Permatang Pauh, those men behind those ‘Anwar’ masks will disappear into thin air! But I am not too sure she will. Shouts of “Altantuya” will be too much for her.
Jong - August 17, 2008 at 2:43 pm
Where’s everybody? Licking their wounds after defeat of Lee Chong Wei?
Jong - August 17, 2008 at 2:46 pm
“PAS” seems to be taking over this blog every night eh? – line of greens!
Tok Cik, still sobbing over Lee Chong Wei’s defeat by China’s Lin Di in Oly badminton finals?
Jong - August 17, 2008 at 2:53 pm
What?? Man, they hardly telecast badminton over here
Mr Bean - August 17, 2008 at 2:59 pm
“Puteri umno complained they were pinched at their butts, any arrests made?” Jong
Maybe it’s Shrek doing the pinching to make up for opportunities lost
Mr Bean - August 17, 2008 at 3:01 pm
“Where’s everybody? Licking their wounds …” Jong
May be not
Mr Bean - August 17, 2008 at 3:03 pm
I am still around, Jong. Just giving Bean and you time to sort things out.
Tok Cik - August 17, 2008 at 4:29 pm
Malays r very easy to be grilled by the issue of agama Islam in Malaysia. Many of them believe that saiful is right when he swears in Koran.Come on man, how can a youngman like Saiful who has admitted that he’s being sodomised by DSAI ( of course DSAI is not proven guilty yet ) still has the right to swear the Koran.Saiful as a muslim had committed the most unwholesome act and yet be given a chance to touch the Koran to accused others for his own wrong doings. What kind of Islam we have in Malaysia.Of course this is UMNO ways of Islam.I mentioned long time ago that UMNO leaders have no faith in Islam.Swearing in Koran is a serious matter & anything could happen immediately if one is not sincere in doing so. Bad things can befall on u unknowingly.Of course , this also applies to those who motivates Saiful to swear, they r not spared from such a divine punishments.Permatang Pauh malays must see this fact & not to drill away by this UMNO evil act.If u deny this simple fact u r no difference from those UMNO leaders ” NO FAITH IN ISLAM ” therefore get the same divine punishment.Think b4 u vote.
Miwai - August 17, 2008 at 5:38 pm
Jong,
Not only Hang Tuah is the only chinese, the oldest batu nisan in of the east coast states is also a chinese.UMNO goverment has keep quiet on this issue. The same issue on Buddhism & Hinduism sejarah in Lembah Bujang, Sg Petani , kedah
Miwai - August 17, 2008 at 5:46 pm
“I am still around, Jong. Just giving Bean and you time to sort things out.” Tok Cik
Jong is the naughty one! She’s not noisily naughty but quietly so.
First, she opened up the floodgates on the ‘juboq’ thing and said she was too embarrassed by it. I mean C’mon!!! We are adults here and have come to accept the mother of all lubangs for what it is. Shit-ful even swore on the Qur’an using the word! The imam must know what Shit-ful is swearing to! Otherwise he is not fit to hold the office of imam. He will be a witness in court and has to testify as to what he heard. I don’t think Shit-ful intends to be around then – which is why he made the public confession.
You got to be clear on the actus reus of the crime we know as sodomy. The judge has to give directions on the law. A man’s entire life hangs in the balance here! To be honest I never knew what sodomy meant until Anwar was accused of it in 1998.
Thrusting your joystick through the lubang hidong is also an offence under Sec. 377A Penal Code. This is a serious question of law. Who knows what the motive could be? Ask Shrek! Motive is not relevant.
Then Jong went on to talk about the virtues of bottom pinching – which is not included as an unnatural sex act under the Penal Code. Once again she opened the floodgates. When it floods she would deny having anything to do with it !
Tok Cik is the wolf who cries “Wolf” and you gotta be careful of the wolf who cries “Wolf”. You never know what he’s gonna cry the next time.
Mr Bean - August 17, 2008 at 7:37 pm
Section 377 talks about carnal intercourse against the order of nature, and that means penetrating your male organ into the anus, mouth, nose, ear, or any part of the women that the male person can possibly stick into.
http://blog.simplyjean.com/2007/10/22/section-377a-vs-section-377-and-having-carnal-intercourse-with-animals
Mr Bean - August 17, 2008 at 8:05 pm
http://www.yawningbread.org/arch_2004/yax-348.htm
The Court of Appeal had ruled in 1997 that “… when couples engaged in consensual sexual intercourse willingly indulged in fellatio and cunnilingus as a stimulant to their respective sexual urges, neither act could be considered to be against the order of nature and punishable under Section 377 of the Penal Code.
“In every other instance the act of fellatio between a man and a woman would be carnal intercourse against the order of nature and punishable under Section 377″.
In other words, oral sex is not an offence if it forms part of foreplay leading to sexual intercourse. But oral sex on its own is an offence if it does not lead to sexual intercourse.
Interestingly enough, the Court of Appeal referred to a series of English and Indian cases dating back to 1817 in arriving at the decision that binds us all today. In those cases, the victims were young boys and a buffalo. The accused were charged and punished for putting their penises into the boys’ mouths and the buffalo’s nose.
Mr Bean - August 17, 2008 at 8:17 pm
erratum
Sec. 377A to read instead Sec. 377B “against the order of nature” – just what is the “order of nature”??
377B. Committing carnal intercourse against the order of nature
Whoever voluntarily commits carnal intercourse against the order of nature shall be punished ….
377C. Committing carnal intercourse against the order of nature without consent, etc.
Whoever voluntarily commits carnal intercourse against the order of nature on another person without the consent…
Mr Bean - August 17, 2008 at 8:35 pm
95% of convicted killers in the USA also swore under oath that they never did it. Do you belive them??

Jong - August 18, 2008 at 2:46 am
He can go and have his pesemboq
Mr Bean - August 18, 2008 at 2:55 am
BN/UMNO got what they want – the cleverly planned ’swearing by the Quran’ by Saiful is nothing but a political-do that received maximum coverage for days now on news media and tv news every hour!
That’s how dirty they get – free campaigning with colloboration Media and the Police sucking up to their political masters at a time when Permatang Pauh by-election is ongoing.
Polling day is on 26 August 2008.
Malaysians are appalled – that’s abuse of govt machinery! They must be made accountable for their actions.
Jong - August 18, 2008 at 3:42 am
I have refused to switch on to Bernama News – they have nothing else to report but Saiful’s swearing-in pix, vocal and all, every hour in English, Indian, Bahasa and Mandarin, sucks!
When it came to Raja Petra’s case with Shafie Abdullah, they only allow Shafie to speak on all tv stations and none from Raja Petra Kamaruddin. Why, are they afraid RPK will swear sky high?
Jong - August 18, 2008 at 3:47 am
