Press Statement by Seven MCA PJ Utara Branches

PRESS CONFERENCE

THE SAIFUL BUKHARI MEDICAL REPORT

TUESDAY 29 JULY 2008, 11AM

Ladies and Gentlemen of the Press.

  1. We meet here today because we, being members of 7 branches of MCA PJ Utara representing more than 1000 members of MCA, wish to do our civic duty to the Rakyat.
  1. We note that MCA cannot remain silent anymore, lest we be accused (if not already accused) of being accomplices to diabolical conspiracies.
  1. In particular, we refer to the medical report widely publicized on the internet by Malaysia Today, malaysiakini and countless other blogs.  We had also taken the liberty to check on the comments contained in the medical report dated 28 June 2008 conducted on Mohd Saiful Bukhari Bin Azlan by Dr Mohamed Osman Abdul Hamid, the Medical Officer at Hospital Pusrawi Sdn Bhd.  Three doctors we have checked with have stated that the comments meant that the results for the alleged sodomy is ‘negative’.  They also confirmed that a Doctor can never change a medical report.
  1. Assuming that the said medical report is true – and we call on Hospital Pusrawi to confirm or deny this – then:
    1. We call on the Police, the Attorney-General, the MCA top leadership and the UMNO top leadership to immediately reveal in full all the evidence against Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and stop withholding vital evidence and decide to charge, or not to charge, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.  The Deputy IGP Tan Sri Ismail Omar should also refrain from making statements that the internet reports on the said medical report were aimed at confusing the people when, in the same breath, he declines to comment on the medical report.  Such statements by the Deputy IGP only serve to further the perception that the police is pulling out all stops to withhold evidence crucial to the innocence of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, a fellow citizen of our country, while at the same time fabricates, or attempts to fabricate, evidence against a fellow citizen of our country.
    1. This “bogus charge” fiasco is also causing untold damage and hurt to our economy, our integrity as a nation.  Daily, we are being compared to countries like Zimbabwe and other countries where despotic rulers reign. We cannot in all conscience be a party to the machinations by executive arms of the government to withhold/fabricate evidence against a citizen of our country.
  1. Therefore, we urge the Police, the Attorney-General and the government to treat all our citizens fairly, with transparency, without withholding of crucial evidence and with the proper application of the rule of law.

    Anyway, if your conscience is starting to prick you I suggest you resign from MCA and bring that 1000 members into PKR.
    Tell me, what can you achieve by being in MCA. Your own community has rejected this party outright.

  10. ABOUT TIME, THE MALAYSIAN CHINESE ASSOCIATION SHOWS IT GOTS SOME BALLS TO CORRECT THE WRONG DOINGS OF THE BARISAN NASIONAL GOVERNMENT.

    Anwar Ibrahim and PKR are the only progressive Malays that understand that irrespective of race, we are one country and one family.

    UMNO on the other hand is a bunch of crooks using racial sentiments to hamper the development of an integrated and harmonious country for their own benefit.

    It is time for MCA members to honor their pledge to society and country. It is time to leave Barisan Nasional and join Pakatan to truly bring integrity and honesty into public service.

  11. Let us hope the MCA-7’s action can be the start of component BN parties standing up for the rakyat against their arrogant “Ketuanan Melayu” partner UMNO. If the UMNO kleptocrats continue to be recalcitrant, then others can crossover and leave UMNO in the lurch.

    I am a SS2 residence, a senior citizen n a former MCA member. Here I would like to SALUTE you n the members of of the 7 branches as real Chinese Malaysian Citizens who have the conscience and guts to speak up and help the oppressed.

    MCA have been called by many names which I am ashame to go into. We Chinese Malaysians cannot chose to be neutral at this juncture.

    Here is a quote stolent from Susan Loone’s blog by a Desmond Tutu:
    ” If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have choosen the side of the OPPRESSORS.
    If a elephant has its foot on the tail of a mouse and you say that you are neutral, the mouse will NOT APPRECIATE YOUR NEUTRALITY.’

    MCA should continue the work of an association and not as a political party. MCA political party should be Malaysian Congress Alliance.

  26. I think that it is important to emphasize that all these posturing by BN in general and UMNO in particular is really just that, pure posturing. The core problem is some people think you can negotiate with “them” for the freedom of Malaysia/Malaysians. The core problem is that “they” have far too many skeletons in their cupboard. They will do anything in their power to maintain the status quo, even to the extend of destroying Malaysia, if need be. See what they did when they lost their states, they immediately destroyed their documents. They have far more to lose than power. All their dirty linen will be discovered, their corruption. Some people out there out of some sense of nobility wish to take over the new government through a new election. That would be madness considering how the election can be manipulated as they have done so for so many elections. In the last election they made a near fatal miscalculation, paid the price and lost. If loyal Malaysians really want a brighter future for Malaysia then they have to kick out all the dead meat. The alternative is more of the same nonsense. We might as well give up our dream of a great nation. This opportunity for greatness will depend solely on one race. The others races already want a Malaysia for Malaysians, ALL Malaysians.

  28. The grave action speaks for itself the very urgent needs for a review to a reforms in pertaining to the Adminstraion of Justice by the following so-call Polis DiRaja Malaysia.
    TESTIMONY.
    I was robbed at knife-point at my resisdency. Somehow the police have fabricated it into a wayside arm-robbery that happens to me.
    One of the items as stated in the “Material Evidence In Statement” as exhibit do not and does not belong to me.
    Two of my cheque (amounting to $ 12,000) that were taken away from me in the robbery were recovered by me, in success fraud attempt, conducted by the robber but no criminal charge were taken against the robber.
    So in conclution, I would like to asked you, people of Malaysia, ” Can the Police DiRaja Malaysia be trusted ? ”
    If the answer is a “BIG” no, than do send an acknowledge of NO , the Police DiRaja Malaysia cannotbe trust in SMS to 012-4596941 in support of my calls for a review for a reform regarding the Adminstration of Justice, adminstration by the Police DiRaja Malaysia.
    A call in support to my cause, for a better Malaysia.

  31. I am so glad that finally we have a group of MCA members who are brave and bold enough to speak out. I am neutral when the allegation of sodomy came out, but as time goes by, the action of the Police as well as the speeches given by the various ministers, BN politicians that tend to give a perception that Anwar is being persecuted.

    That MCA has such brave men is a surprise. I have least respect for MCA since after TUN Tan Siew Sin, after having being played out by MCA cooperative during the mid 80s. Ling Liong Sik, an ordinary general practitioner became billionaire when he became president. His elder son was a billionaire at the age of mid twenties. Now he’s building his Ling dynasty within MCA with his two sons going into politic via money politics. Chua Soi Lek, committed adultery without even the decency to ask forgiveness from his suffering wife. In Islam, he would have being stoned to death. The Chinese maybe tolerant when keeping mistress is concerned. The video partner is not even his kept mistress. And now, he has the gut to be so shameless as to go into MCA election. He has no respect for the decency of present leaders of MCA. It was indeed an indecent act. and the way he appeared in TV as if the Chinese owed him a lot to invite him to come back to the leadership. The MCA has indeed gone down to the pit. While Ling became billionaire, Chua Soi Lek is not that clean as well. Just investigate all the main Turnkey contractors building hospital like Penang, Alor Star etc, one would perhaps see a lot of skeletons in the closet.

    While it might appear that all is lost for the MCA, we have these brave men who dare to do things when none of the MCA members did for decades. Ong Tee Keat would need such men of steel to work with and for him. But I can see that Ong Tee Keat would lose in the MCA election as he would not be able to beat the Ling billionaires.

    There is a silver lining for MCA in this affair of sodomising. MCA has sodomised the Chinese for so long (thanks to Ling) and now, someone has spoken out. There is still hope.

    Congratulation to all the 7 MCA PJ branches that chose to be different, and let us hope more MCA branches and other BN component parties including UMNO will openly defied the establishment and show your concerns, and should there be a show cause letter to warrant your expulsion, so be it. Be brave and you know where to go…

  34. The MCA notice that all these false allegation cause economic unstability for most Chinese businessman. Why they don’t take this action sooner or earlier. Mean that they have lost confident with how the ketuanan rakyat UMNO-BN handle the situation.

    Charge on allegation with out proper report???
    Ask the top leaders to ask the police. That is more precise because IGP and AG is not independent anymore. The Deputy IGP also follow instruction.
